  1. Time for a new sheriff. Too much focus on media appearances and acquiring toys. Need community patrols and investigation of drug dealers leading to arrests.

  7. You know we will not replace the greatest Sheriff in Wicomico County history! You criminal haters have to live with that fact! Sheriff Lewis will have to retire to loose his hold on this spot....THAT IS THE FACTS JACK!!! THE IDIOTS CALL HIM ALL TYPES OF NAMES, BUT THE FACT IS...HE IS HERE UNTIL HE SAYS HE'S READY TO RETIRE!! Don't hate the players, hate the game.

    1. I bet he would change his tune if someone like Ed Lashley or Leathurbury wanted the job. I guarantee his ass would be looking for new employment

    2. Hahahaha...Ed Lashley is the most racist and over rated law enforcement official in the history of Wicomico County and the Maryland State Police. He's lucky he has the position he has. He showed his true colors at SU when the drawing of the noose was found to be done by black students. He swept that under the rug as expected. If it were a white person who did that, it would have been blown up and they would have been charged. The only white people that Lashley likes is white women. That's a FACT

    3. Then how s he racist if he likes white women. Usually that goes hand in hand. Ummm...

  8. Foxnews.com tells where he was in custody of wicomico county. Who here thinks anything will be done to the people that were responsible? I say no consequences will be handed down.

  14. He was one of the ones going around shooting at cops' houses a few years ago. A judge said he was incompetent at the time to stand trial in WicCo MD but was convicted and sentenced to over 100 yrs in DE. He was serving time in the DE prison. WicCo had him because they want to try him but needed to see if he was competent this time.

    1. Probably Maryland should have left well enough alone since he was already serving 100 plus years in Delaware. But than again who am I to judge, not knowing the internal regs for crimes committed in both MD and DE, by one perp. IMO most of thee comments are too harsh on the deputies and the Sheriff's office. They were doing their job when all went "bad". How would you computer detectives handled a routine situation of carrying a criminal from one place to another?

    2. Thats what wrong w/ society always a diagnosis and underestimating ones intelligence. Funny he competent enough to plan an escape.

  15. FOXNews said the deputies guns were locked up in a box! That's about the dumbest thing of ever heard and cause for firing of the deputies

  16. Read the News Release people. Watson was not under custody of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Department but was under custody of 2 guards from the Wicomico County Detention Center. WCSD had nothing to do with this escape.

  17. 8:47, You are correct. HOWEVER, it was Fox News who published the original, (in bold) statement in the article above. We had also spoke with a local officer who also stated it was Sheriff's Deputies. Hence why we published the press release and the statement from Fox News below it. Fox has since change their original release and this too is why we put up an early post this morning about it.
