Duquesne Students Claim Chick-Fil-A on Campus Will Put ‘Safe Place at Risk’

Student activists at Duquesne University are fearful over plans to install a Chick-Fil-A in the school’s dining hall, claiming it will put their “safe place at risk.”

Students at Duquesne University are concerned over plans to bring Chick-Fil-A to their campus, citing concerns that the fast food chain’s upper management have publicly campaigned against gay marriage rights in the United States.

“Chick-fil-A has a questionable history on civil rights and human rights,” Duquesne Student Senator Niko Martini remarked in a statement to The Duquesne Duke. “I think it’s imperative [that] the university chooses to do business with organizations that coincide with the [university’s] mission and expectations they give students regarding diversity and inclusion.”

Rachel Coury, the president of Duquesne’s Gay-Straight Alliance organization, claims that Chick-Fil-A’s presence on campus will make some students feel unsafe.

  1. Oh, Noes! I Feel UNSAFE! What the hell? Seriously? Wait, wouldn't you want to feel a little unsafe, to toughen you up?

Bottom line- this has NOTHING to do with feeling unsafe and EVERYTHING to do with raw, naked power- the power to shut off anyone with a Christian/conservative/traditionalist/(formally just called "normal) viewpoint.

We laugh at these people now, but mark my words. They are convinced of their own goodness and of your inherent evil (remember, you are "irredeemable" according to Hillary) What do you do with "irredeemable" people? You can't change them, so the only thing to do is start digging the mass graves.

They want you dead. Remember that. Plan accordingly.

  2. I hear there is a Chick-fil-A on SU's campus too. I wonder if the SU President is aware of this?

  3. If that makes them feel unsafe then they better go back to Momma's basement and stay there. The world is an unfair and often cruel place.

  4. These spineless snowflakes are in for a rude (but needed) awakening when they are out in the real world and not hiding behind the indoctrination of some progressive professors.

  5. They should give in and try some of that meat. I love that chicken, never hurt me. I'm not afraid of it at all.

  6. It'll be unsafe only for chickens. The ones with feathers and beaks.

  7. 1:20 I bet a cardiologist would say differently about whether that chicken is hurting you.

You stick with organic, going green. Maybe you can try a piece of chicken when scientist come out later saying it's okay. Remember coffee, egg yokes, etc. Only thing is, you will be missing out on this dish until said time.

  11. They only need wander off campus if they are seeking an unsafe space. The university abuts a very tough neighborhood. The admissions office obviously misjudged the capacity for growing into mature adults with several of its selections.

Shame these copycat blockheads are drawing negative attention to an excellent university.

  12. 6:18 It has nothing to do with organic greens and i like me some grilled yard bird. The chicken sandwich has 18grams of fat and the sodium = 1390mg or 58% of daily allowance. Add some fries with a large soda to that and eat it a couple times a week will get you heart disease. Ask any doctor.

  13. We are all gonna die. Thing is, from what? I think Chic-fil-a is really low on the list, as most folks only eat there once or twice a month.

    Calm the F down.

And I love their Christian roots and friendly policies.
