Great Experience At The Salisbury Motor Vehicle Administration

Without a doubt, one of the worst experiences people tend to have is visiting the Motor Vehicle Administration. However, it was time for me to update my Drivers License this week and I have to say, wow! What a difference.

Every single person working there was extremely kind and yes, even helpful. As I ran into some followers of Salisbury News and enjoyed some great conversations while we waited, even they expressed how nice everyone was.

So our hat is tipped to ALL of the staff there for making what used to be a dreaded experience into an enjoyable one.

  1. I'll have to agree. The customer service has improved tremendously.

  2. If you lived in Florida it would be even easier. We just go online (or make a phone call) and get an appointment at our convenience. We get in and out in 10 minutes. Maryland will never be like that.

  3. Maybe the place is no longer overrun with illegals trying to get a license.
I know the last time I was there, it was like a third-world country.
Can you imagine what those people had to put up with?

But now.. Mr Trump is getting things sorted out, and a lot of the illegals are just going home.

    Byebyeeee...

  6. I've never been quite that lucky.

Seems like I've always waiting longer to get my number than anything.

  7. Been there as a frequent flyer for years and always a positive experience. Don't know about others, but I do have my T's crossed and I's dotted. I have experienced some waiting time and figure that is due to people in front of me were not prepared correctly. The employees have it together and put up with stupid things like make it bad for everyone.

  10. I must admit. The last 2-3 times I've been to the Salisbury MVA I've noticed the service has improved drastically. There's a gentleman that works there, looks like he may be Asian or Eurasian that is an absolute delight to deal with. Always polite and very helpful.

I know when they were allowing illegals to get a license it was a mad house. They stopped that for about a year and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Now they are letting them get a license again. Still busier than it was without allowing them to get a license. Last time I was there it took me about an hour to renew my license. There were 3 of 4 in there that apparently had just gone to the welfare office because they were going through their packets to see all the free things they were getting.

  12. Actually had a good visit to MVA in Salisbury upon moving to OC. Thankfully all I need to do from here on out is go to 65th street for tags and when a license renewal is needed. Did DMV's all my life and have already been down to 65th street and its a BILLLLLLLLLION times better than anything I've done in the past.

    Indeed!

  13. Joe I had a similar experience there this week, an attractive Redhead with the bluest eyes was my clerk, we talked about our horses and dogs. She was best! Each time I go there it gets better. Life is too short, lighten up and enjoy it a little.

  14. I have had nothing but good experiences for the last 5 years I've dealt there, which has been more often than I'd like, but always a fully informed visit. All my bad days there have been my fault for not remembering a certain paper I should have had.

Kudos, people, but just for today. Keep going!

  15. I have a DL from 2 other countries, as well as one from the the US. MD has been the worst of all experiences in the past. After first renewal, I got a US license in another state.

  16. I had a similar good experience my last time at DMV, 180° from a previous one a couple of years ago. Thanks, DMV.

  19. lmao, it's hit or miss depending on when you go. I like how they mix up the letters / numbers so you never have any freakin idea of how long you're gonna have to actually wait. total bs but hey it fools the idiots!

  20. Depends on the day, and the purpose of your visit. I have recently received the same kind of incompetent customer service that we routinely used to get back when the building was on the West side of Salisbury. It was a CDL license renewal that they refused to comply with federal regulations for me. After 30 years of violation free driving with a commercial license, and a current CDL medical certificate, they tried to tell me I wasn't qualified, and were going to refuse to renew my CDL license. I had to take it to legal counsel to get them to comply. They were wrong about their interpretation of the Federal requirements, but apparently they wouldn't take my explanations. I wonder how many other CDL license holders they tried to take their livelihoods from by their incompetence?
