BREAKING NEWS

The F.B.I. chief asked Justice officials to reject President Trump’s claim that Barack Obama tapped his phones. But the agency has not.

The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of his phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said.

The situation underscores the high stakes of what the president and his aides have set out by accusing the former president of a conspiracy to undermine Mr. Trump’s young administration.

  6. I agree, 6:04. Every time he puts something out there, the Dems end up looking like fools because Trump's statements end up proven correct. Obama was counting on Clinton to keep his dirty work under wraps... Wrong again!

  10. All the news programs this morning and people saying there were no warrants to install wiretaps. Why would they use warrants that leaves a paper trail. No one said the government did it, he said Obama did it. Political operatives can be paid to do those things.

  12. Trump did not ask for a prosecution. He asked for an INVESTIGATION. A lot of people obviously don't know the difference.

  15. Mmmm , was Comey part of the order to wire tap? I'm sure he was , running scared again. Oh what a tangled web we weave , when first we practice to deceive .

  16. Why should anyone believe anything Comey says after building a case to charge Hillary for classified info mishandling but allowed her to get a free ride saying it wasn't intentional. We know it was intentional. She was an attorney. She knew the law and stated so. Trump needs to replace Comey immediately.

  17. It might just be me but I think maybe Obama's people started that BS about wire tapping when they know there wasn't any just to distract Trump and make him look foolish. I get the very uneasy feeling that Republicans are being suckered and they are too chicken to tell Democrats to stuff it and get on with the work President Trump promised. Oh and by the way Mr President that twitter machine gives your enemys, and that's what are,a little too much amunition to use against you.

  18. Let's see.....the ones that would have carried out the wiretap order (FBI) are asking the Justice department (Federal Prosecutors) to reject Trump's claim that he was wiretapped. Hmmmm, that Comey fellow is some politician. He wouldn't recommend charges against the criminal Hillary Clinton (criminal by Comey's own investigative conclusion), but he wants to recommend that charges of wiretapping by Trump to not be investigated. Comey is pooping his pants now that Obama is coming after him.
