Man's life renewed after law clinic frees him from prison

A man who was serving a life sentence in prison is now starting life all over again.

When an inmate wrote a letter to the University of Maryland law school clinic with the words, "please, help," so began a journey that led to his release from prison nearly three decades after he was first locked up.

Mark Grant, 48, spent more than a quarter century in prison for a murder that nearly all the original parties now agree he did not commit.

"I often times ponder back like, ’Wow, I actually went through that? I went through that?’" Grant said.

New Wikileaks: Donna Brazile Gives Hillary ANOTHER Debate Question in Advance

"One of the questions directed to HRC tomorrow is from a woman with a rash"

A new email released by Wikileaks as part of the Podesta dump reveals that former CNN commentator and current chairperson of the DNC Donna Brazile gave Hillary Clinton another question the day before a major debate.

“One of the questions directed to HRC tomorrow is from a woman with a rash,” the email is titled. It was sent on March 5, the day before Clinton debated Bernie Sanders in Flint, Michigan.

“Her family has lead poison and she will ask what, if anything, will Hillary do as president to help the ppl of Flint,” reads the body of the email.

According to debate commission rules, no candidate is supposed to be given any questions in advance of a debate.

Aide Claim Hillary Smells Like Boiled Cabbage, Urine & Farts

If even her CLOSEST advisors mock her, how can she POSSIBLY be considered ‘Presidential’?

Ah, Wikileaks… the gift that keeps on giving.

How must Hillary feel, now that she’s learning how people REALLY feel about her?

‘Et tu… Podesta?’

Yes.. Podesta himself wrote this one. He KNOWS her and doesn’t respect her. But YOU are supposed to vote for her. Right? Yeah, right.

Here’s the screenshot:

"Sometimes Bill And Hillary Have The Worst Judgment": Wikileaks Releases Part 22 Of Podesta Files; 36,190 Emails

In the aftermath of one of the most memorable (c)october shocks in presidential campaign history, Wikileaks continues its ongoing broadside attack against the Clinton campaign with the relentless Podesta dump, by unveiling another 596 emails in the latest Part 22 of its Podesta release, bringing the total emails released so far to exactly 36,190, leaving less than 30% of the total dump left to go.
As usual we will go parse through the disclosure and bring you some of the more notable ones.

In a February 2012 email from Chelsea Clinton's NYU alias, aj66@nyu.edu, to Podesta and Mills, Bill and Hillary's frustrated daughter once again points out the "frustration and confusion" among Clinton Foundation clients in the aftermath of the previously noted scandals plaguing the Clinton consultancy, Teneo:

Over the past few days a few people from the Foundation have reached out to me frustrated or upset about _____ (fill in the blank largely derived meetings Friday or Monday). I've responded to all w/ essentially the following (ie disintermediating myself, again, emphatically) below. I also called my Dad last night to tell him of my explicit non-involvement and pushing all back to you both and to him as I think that is indeed the right answer. Thanks

Sample: Please share any and all concerns, with examples, without pulling punches, with John and Cheryl as appropriate and also if you feel very strongly with my Dad directly. Transitions are always challenging and to get to the right answer its critical that voices are heard and understood, and in the most direct way - ie to them without intermediation. Particularly in an effort to move more toward a professionalism and efficiency at the Foundation and for my father - and they're the decision-makers, my Dad most of all

Poll: 5 Percent of Democrats Say FBI Announcement Makes them Less Likely to Vote for Clinton

Five percent of Democrats say the news that the FBI renewed its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server makes them less likely to vote for the secretary of state, according to a CBS News poll.

The survey questioned voters in 13 battleground states and found “a sizeable third of Democrats” say the FBI news is bad.

CBS News reports:

There’s a suggestion the new email issue could limit Clinton’s chances of growing beyond the base that already supports her. Only 5 percent of Democrats say it could make them less likely to vote for Clinton, and among voters overall, 71 percent say it either won’t change their thinking, or in some cases, they’re already voted.

Most of those who say they’re less likely to vote for Clinton are Republicans, who are not supporting her anyway. Just 5 percent say it all depends on what is in the emails, a wait-and-see approach. Overall, 52 percent of battleground voters expect the emails to contain “more of what we already know” and 48 percent – the largest group of which are Republicans – expect things that are additionally damaging to Clinton.

The poll also found that many of Clinton’s supporters don’t believe she is honest.

Top Social Networks Fail to Trend FBI’s Re-Opening Into Clinton Email Case

Several of the world’s biggest social networks have failed to trend the recent headlines surrounding a re-opening of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, currently dominating the news cycle.

Within the 24 hours following FBI Director James Comey’s announcement, Facebook’s trending section remained absent of any mention to the Democratic presidential candidate, opting for news on former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Michelle Keegan, Nikki Haley, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame to trend instead.

Twitter’s “moments” news section also opted to stay silent, trending stories about a former Miss Universe, the transgender bathroom case, Joe Biden, and Tesla instead, despite current “trending” hashtags on Twitter including #GoHillary and “The Dangers of Donald Trump”— a New York Times hitpiece that has been trending all morning.

Snapchat’s “Discover” news section included a CNN story on why Hillary’s “finally having fun”, a piece about Paris Hilton, and a large quantity of clickbait listicles, however there was no reference to Clinton’s emails.

Meanwhile, Buzzfeed’s trending story section included pieces on ketchup habits, the 38 cutest animal-themed products, and women who tried to orgasm in three minutes..

Holdout family won’t sell Florida condo to timeshare giant

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Julieta Corredor, her two sons and their families have used their two-bedroom townhouse in the heart of Orlando’s tourist district as a place for honeymoons, family gatherings and college housing during the more than 30 years they’ve owned it.

When one of the world’s largest timeshare companies bought up the surrounding condominium units and made entreaties for 81-year-old Corredor to sell hers, the South Florida family refused. Nonetheless, bulldozers for a Westgate Resorts contractor demolished the entire condo development — trees, a tennis court, and a spa — leaving only the Corredors’ 1,125-square-foot townhouse standing.

If the Corredors continue to refuse to sell, they could join real estate “holdouts” like Edith Macefield, who prompted a developer in Seattle to build a five-story commercial development around the home she refused to sell in 2006 and whose house later was used in promotion for the Disney film “Up.”

The Corredors say that their case is a matter of principle on property rights and that they feel bullied by developer Westgate. Westgate officials say the family is being greedy and awaiting a bigger offer. Family attorney Brent Siegel wouldn’t comment on negotiations.

Election polling in disarray with wild disparities among top firms

At this time four years ago when President Obama was running for re-election, there were no polling outliers.

Run down the list of 15 top pollsters, and their results in late October 2012 on Real Clear Politics. No matter the firm, the national numbers were within a few points of one another. Mr. Obama was up 1 or 2 points, or Mitt Romney was tied or up a point.

What a difference four years, and perhaps Republican Donald Trump, make. National polls are anything but uniform. Perhaps this disparity was signaled in 2014, when pollsters badly missed in a number of key races by undercounting Republican voters.

Four respected firms — Gravis Marketing, Rasmussen, USC Dornsife/LA Times and IBD/TIPP — for weeks have put the contest either at a statistical dead heat or up or down a point or two.

Then The Associated Press came out with a wow poll Thursday showing Mrs. Clinton up by a whopping 14 points.

“Hillary Clinton appears on the cusp of a potentially commanding victory over Donald Trump, fueled by solid Democratic turnout in early voting, massive operational advantages and increasing enthusiasm among her supporters,” AP said.

Pollsters have taken note of the large disparity this time.

“This is an unusual election in a lot of ways,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director at Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “Both candidates are disliked by more than half of the voters. In this kind of environment, anything seems potentially possible. That doesn’t even count the difference in methodology from other polls.”

Knives needed, man says after choking on Popeyes chicken

A Mississippi attorney is suing Popeyes after he said he choked when he had to eat a piece of fried chicken with his hands because a knife wasn’t included in his drive-through order.

Paul Newton Jr., who filed the lawsuit this week, said the only utensil he was given in November 2015 at the Gulfport restaurant was a spork.

The lawsuit stated that because Newton didn’t receive a plastic knife, his only option was to hold the chicken breast with his hands and tear off pieces with his teeth, causing him to choke.

Dems should blame Hillary, not Comey, for the ‘October surprise’

Before Democrats burn James Comey in effigy, they should think about how the FBI director came to have an outsized influence in the election in the first place.

It’s not something Comey sought or welcomed. A law enforcement official who prizes his reputation, he didn’t relish becoming a hate figure for half the country or more. No, the only reason that Comey figures in the election at all is that Democrats knowingly nominated someone under FBI investigation.

Once upon a time — namely any presidential election prior to this one — this enormous political and legal vulnerability would have disqualified a candidate. Not this year, and not in the case of Hillary Clinton.

John Podesta's Best Friend At The DOJ Will Be In Charge Of The DOJ's Probe Into Huma Abedin Emails

Now that the FBI has obtained the needed warrant to start poring over the 650,000 or so emails uncovered in Anthony Weiner's notebook, among which thousands of emails sent from Huma Abedin using Hillary Clinton's personal server, moments ago the US Justice Department announced it is also joining the probe, and as AP reported moments ago, vowed to dedicate all needed resources to quickly review the over half a million emails in the Clinton case.
BREAKING: Justice Dept. says it'll dedicate all needed resources to quickly review emails in Clinton case.
In the letter to Congress, the DOJ writes that it “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible,” assistant attorney General Peter J. Kadzik writes in letters to House and Senate lawmakers.

Senior DOJ official sends letter to lawmakers responding to request for more information about email review.
So far so good, even if one wonders just how active the DOJ will be in a case that has shown an unprecedented schism between the politically influenced Department of Justice and the FBI.
And yet, something felt odd about this.
Kadzik... Kadzik... where have we heard that name?
Oh yes. Recall our post from last week, "Clinton Campaign Chair Had Dinner With Top DOJ Official One Day After Hillary's Benghazi Hearing" in which we reported that John Podesta had dinner with one of the highest ranked DOJ officials the very day after Hillary Clinton's Benghazi testimony?

It was Peter Kadzik.

Now, or later, the Clintons are toast

Donald Trump is learning at long last that when your opponent is destroying himself — or herself — you should get out of his way. The opponent deserves ample room to do the deed. The Donald is taking the high road past Hillary Clinton’s hell week.

He first praised James B. Comey, the director of the FBI, for his “courage” in reopening his investigation of Hillary’s vast email enterprise, and has so far devoted himself, without unnecessary bluster and bombast, to reminding everyone to listen and read the latest developments. No hyperbole needed. “Just the facts, ma’am,” is enough to keep the bombshell on everyone’s mind.

Hillary and the Democrats have worked hard to keep alive the notion that her email enterprise is complicated but not really worthy of anyone’s attention. The computer era irritates everyone, and only wonks and nerds understand modern miscommunications. Bernard Sanders imagined he was speaking for everyone when he declared, in debate with Hillary, that “I’m tired of hearing about Hillary’s damned emails.” If Bernie had listened a little closer and paid only a little attention to the issue, and acted accordingly, he would be the Democratic nominee today (unless Joe Biden beat him to it). Hillary would be in the counting house, her favorite place, nuzzling and cuddling the family gold.

Events since have even changed everything, even pulled some of the sleepyhead journalists who confuse being fatuous with being famous out of Hillary’s tank. Mr. Comey’s resurrection of his botched investigation has persuaded some of the famous and fatuous that maybe there’s a story here, after all. Pulitzers beckon.

Corps To Dredge Inlet Over Weekend, Return Later In Month

OCEAN CITY — The Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to arrive in Ocean City on Friday to begin a quick-fix dredging project at the Inlet in advance of a large project scheduled for later this month.

The Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) was able to arrange for its hopper dredge Currituck to make a pit stop in Ocean City over the weekend to conduct the dredging of some shoaling hotspots in the Inlet. The Currituck, based out the ACE Wilmington District in North Carolina, is expected to arrive in the area sometime Friday on its way to its next scheduled dredging project in New Jersey.

This short-term quick fix will focus specifically on the authorized navigation channel in the Inlet. ACE crews will remove roughly 5,000 cubic yards of material. The maintenance work is expected to help improve navigation conditions in the federal channel. The Currituck will be targeting some of the usual hotspots in the channel including the regular trouble spot between buoys 11 and 12 as well as the area near the Coast Guard Station and the seawall between buoys eight and 10.

Hillary And The Ghosts Of Watergate

If there is any lesson to be learned from the ghosts of Watergate, it is that the big-money support of a leader who has lost the ability to deliver the goods crumbles very quickly as the endgame unfolds.

The parallels between Hillary Clinton and Richard Nixon are not legal--they are political: specifically, how can a leader crippled by scandal and cover-ups govern?

In even blunter terms: how can a crippled politico deliver the goods to the special interests who bet their cash and political capital on the politico's ability to deliver favors?

Among the many ghosts of Watergate, one specter especially haunts Hillary: once the special interests and party stalwarts who defended you through every scandal and every cover-up--month after month and year after year, on the promise that you would deliver the goods upon ascending to the presidency--realize you are too damaged to deliver anything of value to anyone, why would they continue supporting you?

Once a politico has to declare "I am not a crook" based on legalese rather than a moral foundation, that politico's ability to lead has vanished. Hillary and her supporters rely entirely on legalese parsing of wrong-doing rather than on a self-explanatory, basic moral foundation of right and wrong.

Declaring "I am not a crook" because the wrongdoing escapes prosecution is the same as declaring "I am above the law." If the foundation of one's ability to lead is a reliance on legal parsing and allies in the Department of Justice squashing investigations while handing out immunity like candy on Halloween, the political capital required to lead no longer exists.

Fast moving fire leaves four homeless in Ocean Pines

One of the largest fires in recent years destroyed a home in Ocean Pines last week, leaving four residents in their early 20s displaced and in a state of shock.

Out of those ashes, however, a community has come together to support them.

According to Ocean Pines Fire Department Chief Steve Grunewald, a 911 call came in at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday and his company was the first to respond to the home on 173 Sandyhook Road.

Things developed quickly.

“I was there within six minutes of the call and the fire was through the roof already,” Grunewald said. “I immediately pulled a second alarm.”

Additional responders included companies from Showell, Berlin, Bishopville, Newark, Ocean City and Willards in Maryland, as well as Selbyville, Roxana and Frankford, Delaware.

'Kept me out of jail': Top DOJ official involved in Clinton probe represented her campaign chairman

The Justice Department official in charge of informing Congress about the newly reactivated Hillary Clinton email probe is a political appointee and former private-practice lawyer who kept Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta “out of jail,” lobbied for a tax cheat later pardoned by President Bill Clinton and led the effort to confirm Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Peter Kadzik, who was confirmed as assistant attorney general for legislative affairs in June 2014, represented Podesta in 1998 when independent counsel Kenneth Starr was investigating Podesta for his possible role in helping ex-Bill Clinton intern and mistress Monica Lewinsky land a job at the United Nations.

“Fantastic lawyer. Kept me out of jail,” Podesta wrote on Sept. 8, 2008 to Obama aide Cassandra Butts, according to emails hacked from Podesta’s Gmail account and posted by WikiLeaks.

Podesta To Mills: "We Are Going To Have To Dump All Those Emails"

In today's, 25th, Wikileaks release of hacked Podesta emails, one of the notable highlights is a March 2, 2015 exchange between John Podesta and Clinton aide Cheryl Mills in which the Clinton Campaign Chair says "On another matter....and not to sound like Lanny, but we are going to have to dump all those emails."

The email, which may indicate intent, was sent at the same time as the NYT story "Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules" - which for the first time revealed the existence of Hillary's email server - hit, and just days before Hillary's press conference addressing what was at the time, the stunning revelation that she had a personal email account, and server, in her home.

The proposed "dumping" on March 2 takes place two days before the House Select Committee on Benghazi sent Hillary Clinton a document retention subpoena on March 4, 2015, with some hinting the NYT report may have served to tip off the Clinton campaign about the upcoming subpoena.

Mills' response to Podesta: "Think you just got your new nick name."

DOJ's Peter Kadzik Exposed Colluding With Clinton Campaign

On Monday we were the first to note that Podesta's friend Peter Kadzik was the DOJ representative chosen to head up a "thorough" review of the new Huma Abedin emails as revealed by a letter he wrote to Congress. Given Kadzik's personal relationship with Podesta, it seemed like a "convenient" choice for the Clinton campaign.

In the letter to Congress, the DOJ writes that it “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible,” assistant attorney General Peter J. Kadzik writes in letters to House and Senate lawmakers.

"Ironically", that is the same Peter Kadzik who has proven his "impartiality" in multiple WikiLeaks emails including this newly released bombshell in which Kadzik provides a very helpful "heads up" about Hillary's email server investigation. This is what Kadzik emailed to John Podesta (via gmail) on May 19, 2015:

There is a HJC oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil Division will testify. Likely to get questions on State Department emails. Another filing in the FOIA case went in last night or will go in this am that indicates it will be awhile (2016) before the State Department posts the emails.

As we also reported previously (see below), prior to joining the DOJ, Kadzik was the attorney of Marc Rich, whose records the FBI released yesterday, as well as Podesta; in facat, the Clinton campaign chairman infamously wrote that Kadzik was a “fantastic lawyer” who “kept me out of jail.”

WikiLeaks Reveals Liberals' Strategy For Political Dominance

A leaked memo from current Clinton campaign chair John Podesta to a handful of liberal billionaires in late 2007 lays out the longterm progressive strategy to dominate American politics by creating an “echo chamber” to control public discourse and changing American demographics to make them more “advantageous.”

The memo, found in one of thousands of Podesta emails published by WikiLeaks, underscores just how involved “big money” is in the inner workings of the political left.

Equally important, it lays bare what has been a largely successful effort by progressives to control public discourse, change American demographics and divide the electorate by categories such as race, gender and age.

Troopers Arrest Four in Dagsboro Drug Operation

Dagsboro– The Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit has arrested four people during an operation into illegal drug sales at a Dagsboro area residence .

On Wednesday November 2, 2016 around 4:19 p.m., the Sussex County Drug Unit with the assistance of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, concluded a drug operation into the illegal drug sales at a residence located in the 28000 block of East Diamond Drive, Diamond Acres development. Numerous complaints have been received regarding people loitering at this house along with narcotic sales taking place on the cul-de-sac in front of the residence. Detectives established surveillance of the area and were able to witness individuals meeting vehicles and conducting "hand to hand" drug transactions. Troopers drove into the cul-de-sac to make contact with one of the suspects, who was later identified as Alfred L. Wescott Jr., 23 of Frankford, and upon identifying themselves as state police, Wescott fled on foot, but was taken into custody within a very short time without further incident. A search of Wescott revealed he was in possession of a green Crown Royal bag containing 245 bags (3.18 grams) of heroin, along with 7.17 grams of crack cocaine.

Three other subjects were contacted outside the residence and were taken into custody without incident. Rashawn Davis, 20 of Milford, was found to be in possession of 2.54 grams of crack cocaine. Jerrontae L. Holden, 22 of Dagsboro, was found to be in possession of 48 bags (.645 grams) of heroin. Walter B. Brown, 36 of Dagsboro, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia along with a box of .38 caliber ammunition containing 49 rounds.
