However, there was NO explanation as to how this happened. Perhaps the roof collapsed?
How is this possible for a brand new school?

In retrospect - wouldn't our County have been better off renovating the old BMS. It certainly wouldn't have been any worse than what is currently being experienced.

DeleteI only wish you could see the photos of the raw sewage coming up through the floor drains at Parkside. Apparently something happened at the pumping station next to Parkside - at the construction project that has been going on for several years.

ReplyDeleteIf we want to utilize the best design, engineering and construction practices, we have to be willing to pay for them.
You should see the Ella Fitzgerald Center at UMES - it is flooded as well and the Marine Corp Band is supposed to be playing there Saturday night.

DeleteThose are ceiling tiles on the stage. It's obvious that the roof failed to divert water, although "collapse" of the roof isn't. I seem to recall that the roof was redone not so long ago, so maybe the job wasn't done well or inspected regularly since.
ReplyDeleteThey are NOT ceiling tiles on the stage and the water did NOT come in through the roof. The City stormwater system became overloaded and the storm drams backed up. If you're going to be an armchair quarterback, get your facts straight before you open that second anus located below your nose.

All it takes is for the roof drains to get clogged to put more strain on the roof than it can take. The water has to go somewhere.

ReplyDeleteThey need to pull up the carpet on L & U Wing of Parkside. Yesterday the ceiling was leaking and they carpet was wet and folding up. They need to rip it out before the mold smell gets worse then what it is.

ReplyDeleteThey should have known better than to put a pool on the roof of that new school. Everyone said it would leak and it did majorly. Some seniors were in the middle of a water polo match and when they realized what happened they plugged the storm drains with their trunks so it would flood the auditorium and they could finish the game. Kids expelled and charged with destruction of property and public indecency on school grounds. My brothers friend works there at that new school.
