The Gun Control Song

In anticipation of the Obama's next, hilariously inept push to rewrite the Constitution, we at MRCTV decided to satirize the left's laughable efforts with a little parody of our own.

5 Things To Know: FAA Task Force Recommends A Drone Registry

The Consumer Technology Association forecasts that 400,000 drones will be sold in the United States this holiday season. That's not to mention the commercial drones being developed by Google (now known as Alphabet), Amazon, Wal-Mart and others.

In the face of this drone proliferation, the Federal Aviation Administration called a special task force to develop a way to get a grip on all the drones in the sky. The task force is now recommending that the government set up a simple registration system for anyone who owns an unmanned aircraft heavier than 250 grams, which is about half a pound.

Here are a few key things about the recommendations and recreational drone flying:

1. These aren't the rules yet.

The recommendations came from the FAA's task force, co-chaired by FAA drone chief Earl Lawrence and the head of Google's drone project, Dave Vos. It also included 24 other drone, aeronautics and aviation experts from Amazon, Best Buy, GoPro, Walmart and numerous industry groups and associations.

The FAA will now take the task force's recommendations, combine them with public comments it has been collecting on the subject and eventually propose formal rules. Some reports have suggested that the rules were expected before Christmas, but the FAA on Monday said it didn't have a specific timeline.

Watch How Texans Respond When a Man Allegedly Snatches 84-Year-Old Woman’s Purse in Walmart

When shoppers at a Texas Walmart witnessed a man grabbing an 84-year-old woman’s purse, they didn’t let him get away.

According to cell phone video, several shoppers in Waco chased the suspect out of the store and scuffled with him until police could arrive. At one moment, when the suspect started to run away, one woman fired a gun above his head.

Three men chased the suspect and eventually tackled him and held him until police arrived. The woman who fired the gun calmly walked away from the suspect, got back into her truck and drove away. She is participating in the police investigation, according to KTRK-TV.

U.S. Bioterrorism-Detection Program Is Unreliable, Report Finds

A government watchdog says the Department of Homeland Security can't say for sure whether its system to detect a biological terror attack actually works.

In a report released Monday, the Government Accountability Office says the BioWatch system has issued dozens of false alarms since its introduction. It recommends that Homeland Security, which oversees the system, hold off any upgrades until the department can be sure of BioWatch's current capabilities.

The BioWatch system was implemented in 2003, two years after five people died and 20 others were sickened by letters containing anthrax spores. The system involves aerosol collectors deployed in 30 U.S. cities, including on top of buildings and in subways and airports. Personnel remove filters from each of the detectors and check them for the presence of airborne pathogens, a process that can take up to 36 hours. The program operated with an $87 million budget last year, according to the GAO.

Homeland Security has proposed replacing the manual detectors with a more automated system — what it calls a lab-in-a-box — that would reduce detection time to six hours.

But the GAO says Homeland Security hasn't developed performance requirements to adequately test the current system and is unable to "draw conclusions about the system's ability to detect attacks."

Trump takes heat for tweet about black murder rates

Donald Trump is taking heat on social media for a Sunday afternoon tweet of statistics purporting to show that the vast majority of murdered black people in the U.S. are killed by other black people.

The tweet was apparently Trump’s response to a Twitter thread about support from white supremacists for the GOP front-runner.

It also comes the day after a Black Lives Matter protester said he was physically and verbally assaulted at a Trump rally.

The image Trump posted includes a list of “USA Crime Statistics ~ 2015.” The two that are highlighted are “Blacks Killed by Police ~~ 1%” and “Blacks Killed by Blacks ~~ 97%.”

Poll: 1 In 5 Americans Trusts The Government

Only 19 percent of Americans — about 1 in 5 — say they trust the government "always or most of the time," according to a study released by the Pew Research Center on Monday. Yet clear majorities also favor the government taking "a major role" in fighting terrorism, responding to natural disasters, keeping food and drugs safe, protecting the environment, strengthening the economy and improving education.

Despite this desire for government services, Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the level of service they feel they receive. Three out of four, 74 percent, say public officials put their own interests ahead of the nation's. And a majority, 55 percent, say ordinary Americans would "do a better job of solving problems" than the people whose job it is to do so.

Berlin Angler Sets Maryland Coastal White Perch Record

Atlantic Coastal White Perch SR - Finn McCabe (1)On November 17, Finn McCabe from Berlin pulled in a record-setting 1.2-pound, 13-inch white perch from Ayers Creek as the sun began to set over the Route 376 Bridge west of Sinepuxent Bay and Assateague Island.
ayers creek (2)McCabe  was originally hoping for a striped bass or speckled trout when he caught the perch using a green twister tail lure on a quarter-ounce jig head.
He put the perch, one of the state’s most popular fish, on ice, and the following day took it to Sunset Marina in Ocean City for an official weigh-in. From there, he visited a nearby Maryland Department of Natural Resources field office, where fisheries biologist Steve Doctor certified the species.
Following the formal application and certification process, the department was able to announce the catch as a new state record in the Maryland Atlantic division.
When asked what he intended to do with the fish, McCabe said, “I’m thinking some butter, and grilling it on the George Foreman.”
The Department of Natural Resources maintains records for sport fish in three divisions—Atlantic, Chesapeake and nontidal—and sends plaques to record holders. Anglers who catch a potential record fish should call 443-569-1381 or 410-260-8325, and immerse the fish in ice until it can be weighed at a seafood retailer, grocery store, or tackle shop with a certified scale. All International Game Fish Association rules for records and Maryland fishing regulations apply.

Expert Discusses Potential Revelations In Freddie Gray Trials

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — As the first trial for one of six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray nears, another pre-trial hearing is set for Tuesday. Among the issues to be decided: whether or not cell phone video of Gray’s arrest will be allowed in court and whether jurors will get to inspect the inside of the police van where Gray suffered his fatal injuries. It is exactly one week until that first trial for Officer William Porter gets underway. There are still many questions about what exactly led to Freddie Gray’s death.

Vic Carter looks ahead at what we may finally learn.

In April, the death of a Baltimore man forever changed our city. Freddie Gray died from injuries he suffered while in a police van. When the trial for the first of six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray gets underway, the eyes of the world will be focused on our courthouse—but a number of questions remain unanswered—and it’s evidence that will be presented here that will hopefully answer the mystery of what happened on April 12, 2015.

“No one is above the law,” said City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby in April, when she announced all six officers would face charges. “We have probably cause to file criminal charges.”

FCC Quick to Threaten Fines, But Slow to Enforce and Collect Them

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed fines totaling hundreds of millions of dollars over the last two years, but hasn't collected a penny of that money, and several lawmakers, including Oregon Republican Rep. Greg Walden, want to know why.

"If an enormous fine is announced and it's never prosecuted, it makes you wonder what's the purpose?" Walden, who chairs the House Telecom Subcommittee told Politico.

"The question is, are they just after headlines or some sort of performance metric? I don't know."

The fines have included $100 million against AT&T this summer for throttling unlimited data plans, roughly $100 million against a dozen companies for charges they defrauded the Lifeline phone subsidy program, and $35 million against a Chinese company that was selling illegal wireless jamming equipment.

Companies have up to 30 days to either pay or challenge a fine, but still, the FCC's collections process is cumbersome, and the fine isn't officially due until the investigation is completed, which can take years.

Emails Show DOD Analysts Told to 'Cut It Out' on ISIS Warnings

Analysts at U.S. Central Command were pressured to ease off negative assessments about the Islamic State threat and were even told in an email to “cut it out,” Fox News has learned – as an investigation expands into whether intelligence reports were altered to present a more positive picture.

Fox News is told by a source close to the CENTCOM analysts that the pressure on them included at least two emails saying they needed to “cut it out” and “toe the line.”

Separately, a former Pentagon official told Fox News there apparently was an attempt to destroy the communications. The Pentagon official said the email warnings were "not well received" by the analysts.

Those emails, among others, are now in the possession of the Pentagon inspector general. The IG’s probe is expanding into whether intelligence assessments were changed to give a more positive picture of the anti-ISIS campaign.

The former Pentagon official said there were “multiple assessments” from military intelligence and the CIA regarding the “rapid rise” of ISIS in Iraq and North Africa in the year leading up to the group’s territory grab in 2014.

Strong armed robbery at the Wal-Mart on Rt. 50 in Berlin

On 11/20/2015 at 9:27 PM, Troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded to a strong armed robbery at the Wal-Mart on Rt. 50 in Berlin. Troopers made contact with a female victim who informed troopers she was at the Red Box in the entrance of the Wal-Mart when an unknown black male grabbed her purse from her shopping cart and ran into the parking lot. The victim chased the suspect through the parking lot where the suspect got into the passenger side of a teal hatchback passenger car. The victim reached in the vehicle from the driver side and grabbed her purse from the suspect. During the struggle for the purse, the victim was punched in the face by the suspect. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim told police the vehicle was driven by a heavyset white female, with brownish/dirty blonde hair pulled in a ponytail. The suspect is described as a black male believed to be in the late 30’s possibly 40’s, tall with a thin build, wearing thick black frame glasses and a baseball style cap. The vehicle is described as a teal blue two door hatchback, possibly a Geo Metro.

Through investigation, Detectives with the Worcester County Bureau of Investigations were able to identify the female suspect as Karen J Landon of Snow Hill, MD and the male suspect as Edward Brad Ward Jr. of Crisfield, MD. On 11/23/2015, Detectives with the Worcester County Bureau of Investigations along with the Maryland State Warrant Apprehension Team located and arrested Landon in Worcester County, MD, Landon was held on $9500.00 bond. Ward was located in Wicomico County and arrested without incident. Ward was held without bond. Both Ward and Landon were charged with Robbery and related charges.

DHS Knew Illegal Aliens Falsely Claimed “Credible Fear” to Stay in U.S

The Obama administration let hundreds of illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. even though federal authorities knew in advance that an open borders group coached them to falsely claim “credible fear” to get asylum, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The operation was part of a scam conducted by an immigrant rights organization called the National Immigrant Youth Alliance (NITA), which in recent years has coordinated demonstrations along the Southwest border in Texas and Arizona. In mid-2014 the group orchestrated a racket seeking to bring 250 illegal aliens into the U.S. through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in San Diego, California. To assure the migrants were allowed to stay in the U.S., the group had them falsely claim that they had a “credible fear” of returning to their native country. Foreigners can claim asylum under five categories, based on fear of persecution over race, religion, nationality, political opinions or membership in a specific social group

In this particular case, the DHS agency charged with guarding the border—Customs and Border Protection (CBP)—actually admits knowing about the ploy in advance but allows the illegal aliens to stay anyway.

Obama Quietly Releases Plans For 2,224 Regulations Ahead Of Turkey Day

While millions of Americans prepare to stuff themselves with Turkey and pie, the Obama administration quietly released its plans for 2,224 federal rules Friday — a preview of just how many more regulations the president is attempting to issue before he leaves office.

President Barack Obama’s Unified Agenda for Fall 2015 is his administration’s regulatory road map and lays out thousands of regulations being finalized in the coming months. Obama has developed a habit of releasing the agenda late on Friday before a major holiday.

Indeed, Obama’s Spring 2015 agenda detailing the status of more than 2,300 regulations was released the eve of Memorial Day weekend. Obama’s Fall 2014 agenda featuring more than 3,400 regulations was also released the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Obama in Malaysia Slaps U.S. for Hypocrisy, ‘Growing Inequality’

(CNSNews) - President Barack Obama, speaking at a town hall meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, criticized the United States of America for telling other people to do what Americans fail to do themselves, for “growing inequality,” and because “our political system does not work as well as it should.”

The U.S. president was speaking to a group of people associated with the Young Southeast Asia Leaders Initiative, a program run by the U.S. State Department.

The State Department’s 2014 Country Report on Human Rights in Malaysia—published this year—cited the country in which Obama was speaking for limiting the freedoms of speech and religion and for allowing “Islamic authorities” to enter people’s homes without warrants.

“The most significant human rights problems included government restrictions on freedom of expression - including speech, assembly, association, and media,” said the State Department report on Malaysia.

Refugee Expert: ISIS at Root of Crisis

American and European politicians are wasting time trying to keep Syrian refugees out of their countries instead of focusing on the real problem, ISIS, says former Clinton administration official Amed Khan.

Khan, now president of New York-based private investment company Paradigm Global Group, is a seasoned veteran of refugee crises. A former official at the Peace Corps, he was Chief Administrator for the International Rescue Committee relief efforts for Rwandan and Burundi refugees in Tanzania.

"The stories that you get from individuals, they boggle the mind," Khan said. "A woman, whose two adult sons were killed by ISIS, told me yesterday that she was in her kitchen frying something — and she said ISIS, when they get bored, they just start firing."

"She got hit in the hip by a bullet. So, she picked up her granddaughter and said: 'You know, we have been in this for four years. We have lost everything, let's get out of here.'"

About 50 percent of the refugees he's seen have been women and children, Khan said, and most don't want to come to the United States.

They do, however, want the U.S. and its allies to destroy ISIS and "finish the war" that started in 2003 with the invasion of Iraq.

"I don't know how many hundreds of refugees I've talked to and they say: 'Look, you started this war. Go back and finish it. Wipe out ISIS — and I want to go back home.'"

British Movie Theaters Bar Lord's Prayer Ad

Major theater chains in Great Britain are refusing to show a Church of England advertisement promoting the Lord's Prayer, the Daily Mail reports.

The church said no policy barring religious advertising existed when it began trying to put the one-minute ad on screens before movies, and it was approved by the British Board of Film Classification and the Cinema Advertising Authority.

The Digital Cinema Media agency, which runs advertising for Odeon, Cineworld, and Vue theaters, has refused to show it, however, saying it could cause offense.

The ad shows various people, including bodybuilders and children, reciting the New Testament prayer of Jesus.

The church asked for a copy of the policy disallowing the ad, but was told there wasn't a formal document – just an agreement between DCM's members.

Poll: Majorities Say 'Call It Radical Islam,' Oppose Syrian Refugees

Most American voters believe Islamic terrorists will strike the U.S. soon. A Fox News national poll released Sunday also finds Democrats and Republicans united against President Obama’s plan to accept Syrian refugees -- as most voters think at least one will be a terrorist who will launch a successful attack here.

Here are five findings on the war against terrorism. Voters feel:

-- The U.S. is at war with radical Islam, and Democrats who refuse to call the enemy by that name are doing the wrong thing.

-- Obama has not fought the war against ISIS aggressively enough, and that war is going badly.

-- Terrorism is now the top problem facing the country, and an attack is likely soon.

-- Bringing Syrian refugees into the U.S. is a bad idea, and a religious test would be shameful.

-- Closing Gitmo is wrong, and Obama should not side step Congress to do so.

DC’s Top Cop Says People Should ‘Take Out’ Mass Shooters

In a complete about-face from normal police protocol, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier is asking regular people to “take out” active shooters if they have the chance.

Lanier told Anderson Cooper during an interview Sunday on CBS’s “60 Minutes”if people find themselves in an active shooter situation, their “best option” would be to try and restrain or even kill the shooter.

“Your options are run, hide or fight,” Lanier said. “If you’re in a position to try and take the gunman down, to take the gunman out, it’s the best option for saving lives before police get there.”

It’s counter-intuitive to what police have told people to do in the past when faced with violent robberies or active shooters, Lanier said, but the situation has changed with the rise in deadly shootings.

Cancel the Debate! CNN Caught Selectively-Editing Trump's 'Muslim' Comments

Left-wing cable news network CNN has been caught red-handed selectively editing Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s comments about a “Muslim registry,” and doing so in order to make it sound as though he is agreeing to this registry. He is not.

The edited video is yet another lying log on the left-wing garbage fire that is CNN, and yet in just three weeks, this very same garbage fire is hosting the next Republican presidential debate!

What exactly does CNN have to do in order to lose its right to depose these candidates for two hours in front of the whole world? If CNN is already maliciously editing video to “take out” out the frontrunner, I don’t even want to speculate.

Governor Larry Hogan Announces Commitment to P-TECH Model Schools in Maryland

Students Graduate with High School Diplomas, Associate Degrees, First in Line for Employment

BALTIMORE, MD -
Governor Larry Hogan, joined by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake; Stanley Litow, president of the IBM International Foundation; Dr. Gregory Thornton, CEO of Baltimore City Public Schools; and Johns Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels, today announced his commitment to launch up to four P-TECH 9-14 schools in Maryland to help better prepare students for college and entry into the job market.

The P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) education model, co-developed by IBM, is an innovative, nationally recognized approach that blends high school, college, and work experience in one. P-TECH schools offer students an integrated six-year education program that combines high school, college, and workplace skills required for 21st-century jobs. Graduates from Maryland’s P-TECH schools will earn their high school diploma and a two-year postsecondary degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) from an accredited community college. These students will also benefit from career experience and mentorship in the workplace and will be first in line for skilled jobs upon graduation through partnerships with private sector participants.

"Every single child in Maryland deserves a world-class education, regardless of what neighborhood they happen to grow up in," said Governor Hogan. "By blending high school, college, and workplace experience, P-TECH students will gain in-demand skills that employers need in the 21st century, and employers will gain a steady pipeline of skilled professionals. This is a truly innovative approach to improving education in disadvantaged areas, and it is my hope that two of the P-TECH schools will be located in Baltimore City."

"In urban centers like Baltimore, we know that growing technology companies are creating jobs and opportunities, but if our youth are not prepared with the necessary skills, these jobs will pass them by and they will be left behind," said Mayor Rawlings-Blake. "The need for better training opportunities is particularly true for young people in some of our communities that are frequently not seen as a source for tech hires. The P-TECH model can help bridge that gap and open entire new pathways for long-term career success."

"I thank Governor Hogan for his strong leadership in bringing this innovative transformation of high school to Maryland and high-need districts like Baltimore," said Stanley S. Litow, IBM vice president of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs and president of the IBM International Foundation. "We devised P-TECH to address the nation’s skills crisis, and to do so for all students, not just those who are most likely to succeed, and it is already fulfilling its promise by increasing college completion rates and seeing its graduates obtain high-wage jobs. We’re committed to helping grow P-TECH, and helping Maryland youth secure a meaningful future. Nothing is more critical to Maryland’s economic success."

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), in consultation with the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), will issue a request for proposals (RFP) to create up to four P-TECH schools in both urban and rural areas of the State. The Maryland business community, including IBM, Johns Hopkins, and Kaiser Permanente, is interested in building partnerships with local school districts and community colleges to make P-TECH schools a reality. These first four schools could become the model that will be replicated in all areas of the State.

Modeled after the nationally-recognized P-TECH schools created by IBM and partners, these innovative public schools go beyond traditional high school, providing students with college degrees and the opportunity to enter the workforce with in-demand skills that employers need. There are no tests or screening required for admission. The curriculum at each P-TECH school is aligned to skills that employers are looking for, combining academic rigor with career focus. Students are paired with mentors from the business community and can gain practical workplace experience with skills-based, paid internships. IBM will support and partner with Maryland leaders, educators, and industry to develop a statewide plan to help grow P-TECH schools in Maryland.

"P-TECH fosters the kinds of partnerships that open transformational opportunities to our students," said Johns Hopkins President Ronald J. Daniels. "The number of public- and private-sector leaders who have aligned to bring this model to Maryland shows P-TECH's great promise for our city, our state – and most of all, our students."

Why Trump? Because He’s American

A glorious American, Ezra Schwartz, is murdered in Israel at the hands of Islamic terrorists and no word of condemnation from the White House.

Repeat – an American!

Monday Night Football, in the game between Buffalo and New England, has set aside a moment’s silence in reverence for Ezra Schwartz – thanks to the valiant owner of the Patriots, Robert Kraft. But from the government, near silence.

The State Department finally came around for a few words – but reluctantly and only after days of arm-twisting and cajoling.

“I’d bomb the hell out of them.” Trump’s response to Islamic terrorists everywhere. (Hell of a world when al-Qaeda is now “moderate Islam.”)

New sheriff coming to town. It’s High Noon… Gary Cooper taking care of business.

Love him or hate him, Trump is an American – walks, talks, thinks like an American. The brashness, the swagger, the Reagan tall-in-the saddle – Trump.

“I want to make America great again.”

Poetry. Music to the ears of millions who miss those days when it was okay to be straight-talking, right-thinking a bit cocky and altogether heroic.

People wonder why he’s become so popular (even if he is not first choice to you or me).

“I will never apologize for America.”

That’s why.

New Poll Shows Front-Runner To Replace Senator Mikulski

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A day after a leader emerges in the Baltimore mayor’s race, there’s also a front-runner in the race for Maryland’s US Senate seat.

The poll, conducted by Opinion Works for the Baltimore Sun and the University of Baltimore, is the first snapshot of who voters think should replace Senator Barbara Mikulski.

Mikulski is retiring in 2017 after four decades of public service and two prominent politicians want to fill her seat: Representative Chris Van Hollen of Montgomery Country and Representative Donna Edwards of Prince George’s County—and right now, one of them has a double digit lead.

In a new poll for the Baltimore Sun and the University of Maryland, Chris Van Hollen has 45% of the vote to Edwards’ 31%.

“They both get very big leads out of their home counties but up here in Baltimore, Van Hollen has made serious inroads,” said Steve Raabe, president of Opinion Works.

TEACHER ASSIGNS 9TH GRADE STUDENTS TO CREATE ISIS RECRUITMENT POSTER

What could possibly have prompted this assignment?

A ninth grade teacher in Utah gave students a homework assignment this week that had parents outraged and has caused a stir online. Just days after the horrific terror attacks in Paris, the unnamed teacher sent kids home to research and create propaganda posters for terror group ISIS. The assignment was eventually canceled, and the school has issued an apology.

What could possibly have prompted this assignment? Here is what the school said in their statement, via Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, which broke the story and sent it viral on Facebook:

“Salem Junior High recently learned from concerned parents of an assignment regarding extremists use of propaganda to spread untruths and misunderstandings. Upon learning of this assignment, the administration reviewed the concerns with parents and teachers. After consultation, the assignment was immediately withdrawn. If parents have any concerns, please call the administration at Salem Junior High.”

New way to treat cavities is quick, painless

The silver bullet for Anniyah is called silver diamine fluoride, a topical product that seals cavities and stops them from growing.

"The silver kills the germs that are in the tooth and the fluoride helps re-mineralize the tooth so that the tooth structure is no longer soft in decay, it's hard," Brill said.

He Did It AGAIN! Did Obama Just Inadvertantly Admit He’s A MUSLIM?!

Notice the usage of the term “we” in the following statement Obama made in a recent speech made in Turkey this week at the close of the G-20 Summit following the Paris attacks. You are NOT going to believe it…

“I think on the one hand non-Muslims cannot stereotype,” Obama said, “but I also think the Muslim community has to think about how we make sure that children are not being affected with this twisted notion that somehow they can kill innocent people.”

Notice how the word “we” is said with great emphasis. No Christian would ever talk this way. May I remind you that Obama has regularly attacked Christians and Christianity at every turn, including an obnoxious attack at national prayer breakfasts.

Labor Costs to Skyrocket for American Cars

New union contracts negotiated at American auto manufacturers will lead to a spike in labor costs after years of belt tightening.

The United Auto Workers approved significant contract adjustments at Ford and General Motors on Friday after months of tense negotiations. Those decisions—one by membership vote, the other by union leadership—come soon after Fiat Chrysler approved a new deal with dramatic pay boosts. Each of the contracts could reverse “much of the savings achieved by the companies over the last eight years,” according to a study first published in the Wall Street Journal.

The new GM deal would raise labor costs from $55 to $60 an hour, a 9 percent hike, according to a study of the deals from Kristin Dziczek of the Center for Automotive Research and Art Schwartz, a former GM labor executive and president of Labor and Economic Associates. The union contract at Ford also reached the $60 hourly rate over the next four years, a 5 percent increase from its current rate of $57. Those hike pales in comparison with Chrysler, where average hourly wages will spike nearly 20 percent from $47 to $56.

Student Makes School Pay After They Denied Her Pro-Life Club Because It Was Too “Controversial”

A Nevada girl who fought a long legal battle with her school over a pro-life club didn’t just get her club approved, she got her school to pay for it. Good for her:

The Thomas More Society, the religious liberty legal group representing junior Angelique Clark, announced Friday they would drop their lawsuit against Clark County School District in Las Vegas and that the school has agreed to pay $30,000 in attorney fees. The school agreed in September to allow the pro-life club after legal pressure.

“We’re pleased that District officials worked so diligently with us to protect the First Amendment rights of Angelique, her pro-life club, and all their students,” Jocelyn Floyd, Associate Counsel of Thomas More Society, said in a statement. “This settlement is a victory not only for Angelique and her pro-life club, but for all students who wish to speak out or form clubs to address issues that they’re facing.”

Clinton Foundation’s Colombian ‘Private Equity Fund’ Was Unregistered

Company’s website removed from internet after Thursday report

The Clinton Foundation’s Colombia-based investment company was not registered as a private equity fund in the country, which may have allowed it to avoid certain industry regulations and oversight from the Colombian government.

Although Fondo Acceso described itself as a “Private Equity Fund” in company promotional materials and business presentations, it is not listed in a database maintained by the Colombian government of current or previously registered private equity funds.

Colombian legal experts consulted by the Free Beacon said that Fondo Acceso did not appear to have violated any laws by calling itself a private equity fund, as long as it was not doing so while trying to raise capital.

According to its corporate records, Fondo Acceso is registered in Colombia as a “simplified stock corporation,” which legal experts said precludes it from doing business as a private equity fund.

Fondo Acceso’s website was also removed from the internet this week, shortly after the Washington Free Beacon reported that the $20 million investment firm was owned by the Clinton Foundation and was run out of the foundation’s office in Bogota.

The website had previously described Acceso as “a Private Equity Fund that seeks investment opportunities in small and medium Colombian compan[ies] with the purpose of obtaining economic and social returns.”

EPA Gives $30,000 to Unitarian Church That Preaches Against ‘White Privilege’

‘Environmental justice grant’ for climate change education

The Environmental Protection Agency has given $30,000 to a Unitarian church that preaches about “white privilege” and says that America is “structurally racist.”

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton, Florida, received an “environmental justice grant” for education and training about sea level rise and climate change, the agency announced Wednesday.

The grant is to provide “Replicable and Scalable Community Climate Resilience Building in Two Communities in Palm Beach County, Florida.”

“EPA’s environmental justice grants help communities across the country understand and address exposure to multiple environmental harms and risks at the local level,” said Matthew Tejada, the director of the Office of Environmental Justice.

“Addressing the impacts of climate change is a priority for EPA and the projects supported by this year’s grants will help communities prepare for and build resilience to localized climate impacts.”

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton is a “liberal religious community” that currently offers classes on “Being White,” and holds town meetings on Black Lives Matter. The church supports same-sex marriage and has a climate-change working group.

Southwest Airlines Now Totally Cool With Customers Kicking Muslims Off Flights

In response to a recent incident of racial profiling, Southwest seems to endorse prejudice.

In two separate incidents this week, Southwest Airlines has kicked Arabic-speaking passengers off their flights following customer complaints. The airline doesn't seem to understand this is something corporations should not do in 2015.

In one case, business owners Maher Khalil and Anas Ayyad were asked to step aside because fellow passengers were, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia, "afraid to fly with them." Eventually, the boarding agent told the two men they could not get on the flight because other passengers overheard them speaking Arabic.

"If that person doesn't feel safe, let them take the bus," Khalil said to a Southwest Airlines gate agent, according to NBC 10. "We're American citizens just like everybody else."

As Gawker's Melissa Cronin notes, this effectively deputizes bigots to eject whomever they want, a trend Southwest should put a stop to unless it wants to become the official airline for the country’s bigots.

Md. to partner with private sector to open 4 high school-college programs

Maryland will join a small number of states that are partnering with IBM and other businesses to train students for technology jobs through a six-year program that blends high school, college and work experience, Gov. Larry Hogan (R) announced Monday.

“Maryland has some of the best schools in the country, but there is room for new innovative ideas,” Hogan said.

Under the P-Tech (Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools) model, students spend six years navigating a high school and college curriculum tailored to prepare them for high-tech jobs.

A Viewer Writes: Drug & Alcohol Testing

I am a professional HR Director and I am a patient of a number of health care providers. I just learned something that I truly think needs to be vetted. Professional airline pilots, truck drivers, soldiers and many more are subjected to random drug and alcohol testing. Health care providers are not? Wow what a huge void. I was told they are professionals. Well so are airline pilots and HR Directors.

The Average Price Of Thanksgiving Dinner Predicted To Top $50 For The First Time Ever This Year

It’s only a week until Thanksgiving, which means you’re probably getting your shopping list ready for the big day of feasting. Prepare yourself for (slightly) higher prices than last year, as experts predict that the average Turkey Day dinner will cost more than $50 for the first time ever.

Though we’ve already been told that avian flu and pumpkin shortages won’t have a huge effect on prices this year, turkey prices are up 6.4%, the American Farm Bureau Federation said in a statement.

The entire meal — consisting of 12 items typically served during the holiday, for 10 people — will cost about 1.4% more than it was last year: last year’s price tag was $49.41, compared to this year’s price tag of $50.11 on average.

A 16-pound turkey will go from $23.04 to $21.65, while sides like sweet potatoes, rolls, stuffing and pumpkin-pie mix/shells are up by about $0.01 to $0.08, according to a survey by 138 volunteer shoppers in 32 states.

Turkey Talk: What Do Labels Like “Young,” “Fresh” And “Natural” Actually Mean?

Whether you’re strolling down the supermarket aisle or perusing online grocers’ offerings ahead of Thanksgiving, you’re bound to see turkeys with a wide range of labels: “young,” “fresh,” “premium” and other distinctions that you may think you understand… but you probably don’t.

If you’re picky about what you eat, knowing what the labels mean can make a big difference — for example, just because a turkey is labeled “fresh,” that doesn’t mean it was slaughtered on the farm this morning and trucked down the street to the grocery store.

Our colleagues at Consumer Reports have explained the various labels in the past you may come across, as well as other outlets like NPR’s The Salt blog, which we also referenced for guidance.

Once you’ve settled on a size for your holiday bird, the guide below will be helpful in making your final choice:

Fresh: Again, this bird was not hanging out on the farm with his bros this morning, it just means the turkey has never been below 26°F. This label could also be, “Never Frozen.”

Frozen: Speaks for itself, mostly. This means poultry was held at 0°F or below. “Previously frozen” may also be used to mean the same thing.

Is Your Thanksgiving Turkey On Drugs?

We’ve written before about the overuse of antibiotics in turkeys and how it contributes to the development of drug-resistant bacteria, and some companies have pledged to cut down on the amount of unnecessary antibiotics they feed to their birds. But was the turkey you’re planning to carve up next Thursday raised using these and other potentially harmful drugs?

That’s the subject of a new report [PDF] from non-profit group Food Animal Concerns Trust, which looked at the nation’s largest turkey producers and their policies for antibiotics use and the feed additive ractopamine, which is allowed in the U.S. but banned in dozens of other countries around the world.

The FACT survey asked companies to provide information regarding three key issues. First, do they use medically important antibiotics for “disease prevention”? This is a common reason given by farmers to employ antibiotics, but many scientists believe that continual, low-dose prophylactic use of antibiotics only has the end result of further encouraging the development of drug-resistant pathogens.

Dream Mansion for Only $30,000—With One String Attached

Who says your dollar doesn’t stretch in today’s housing market? In poking around looking for homes priced less than $50,000, we uncovered a 20-bedroom mansion inManchester, NH, for just $29,900.

Of course, there is one tiny catch to get all this house for such a low price. Namely, a buyer has to move the home from its present location, a task that could cost $200,000 to $300,000 if done locally.

Known as the George B. Chandler Home, the 9,505-square-foot mansion was built in the late 19th century by a local mill owner and later donated to the Catholic Church. It subsequently was used as the local Catholic bishop’s residence and a convent.
