Shocked Grandmom Says She Would’ve Never Found Out About Teacher’s Islam Song if Her Grandson Didn’t Accidentally Bring the Lyrics Home

In the wake of last week’s attack in Paris and heightened fears over terrorism in the U.S., one teacher in Orange County, California, is being scrutinized by parents for teaching her students a song about Islam.

The song, set to the tune of the pop ballad “Fight Song,” was said by the teacher to be a tool to help her seventh-graders learn about the religion, according to KCAL-TV:
Like a sandstorm in the desert, sending camels into motion,
like how a single faith can make a heart open,
they might only have one god,
but they can make an explosion.
The teacher then involved students, but Susan Negron, the grandmother of one student in the class, said she would not have known the middle schoolers were singing the song had her grandson not accidentally brought the lyrics home.

  5. OMG...she is to be fired...not because she is teaching a song, but because she is teaching a song about religion...Our children cannot say the Lord's prayer any more in schools, I'm not sure if they are allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, can't pray on school grounds, etc., etc. and yet this teacher thinks singing Muslim songs is okay? This is not Obama's problem, it is the local school board's problem in the California county. Faith and religion is to be taught at home and that goes for all religions...I thought this issue was settled a long time ago. Encourage you local school board to enforce the rules we already have.
