County Councilman Marc Kilmer Completely Out Of Line On Social Media

Councilman Marc Kilmer made the above comment recently and in my opinion he is completely out of line.

Now I like Marc but when you are an elected official you are, (and should be) held to a higher standard.

Nevertheless, I'd like to hear your opinion on this matter.

  1. No big deal and I agree with him 100%.

  2. Oh no! I had more respect for him that this kind of behavior and I really thought he had more respect for himself and the position the people elected him too than to have this behavior. DISAPPOINTED!!!

  3. You can't be serious! Please tell me he didn't post this trash talk. Horrible.

  4. In lots of states, it's illegal to say that--fighting words it's called

Fighting Words. Words which would likely make the person whom they are addressed commit an act of violence. Fighting words are a category of speech that is unprotected by the First Amendment. Chaplinsky v New Hampshire, 315 U.S. 568 (1942).

  5. I'll bet he never even said nothing to those "hippies" just Facebook grandstanding after the fact. btw the new world trade building-saw it the other week-loooks like smoke and mirrors doesn't it?

  6. So now anyone who Google's his name will see this garbage?

  7. Joe i am ashamed.of you its called freedom of speech same as your bog.

  8. Better shepardize that case before relying on it. As for the post by Kilmer, I take it that people are not entitled to their own opinions in his world. Sad but pretty reflective of our area.

  9. 9:51, Shame on me for what? Kilmer openly expressed his opinion on a public website, free speech. My personal opinion is that elected officials should be held to a higher standard. I even stated I like Marc. I just feel he should refrain from such language in a public forum. I then asked for everyone else's opinion. Again, shame on me for what? Exposing the TRUTH again!

  10. Thank you for exposing Kilmer's lack of respect for himself and his position. I'm appalled at this kind of communication posted by a county council person.

  11. Free speech OK, limited vocabulary not so OK...Mr. Kilmer, that was way out of line

    ReplyDelete
  12. This isn't about freedom of speech. This is about RESPECT! And it appears Mr. Kilmer has none for the position he was elected to. If he doesn't respect himself, he should respect this county and his seat. I'm ashamed to have voted for him.

  13. Are we sure this is a post by the Marc Kilmer who was elected by the people? OMG

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, Mr. Kilmer is another pretender obviously. Disgusted more by the day with the sitting council.

  15. 9/11 was an inside job. wake up amerikka

  16. I agree about the Truther movement but Kilmer should have more self respect than to post such trash on Facebook. Where his his respect for his children?

  17. Don't you people have bigger fish to fry?

    ReplyDelete
  18. 10:07 yes it is the same Kilmer. What is another disgrace he has his family picture posted as his profile with that ugliness.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 10:20, Really? Why don't you give us an example of bigger fish to fry.

  20. Mark is a whack job. Next time you watch him on PAC 14 acting all high and mighty remember when he is off camera he is looking to pick fights with "hippies."

  21. So upset that I supported Marc and voted for him. Obviously I was duped by him. My feelings aren't solely on this issue but instead it is his actions during meetings. He isn't using good common sense along with conservative values. It shines through at every council meeting. I'm just sick about him. I thought he had leadership skills and would be the one on council to provide continuity for years to come. Things have to change if that is to happen.

  22. Marc. Marc, Marc , please tell me this ain't so!!!

  23. When you are an adult you should be held to a higher standard.

******Vulgarity is the crutch of an intellectual cripple*****

There is no reason for the F-word to find it's way into anyone's vocabulary.

......and using the F-word which only goes to show that you are of a lower class level.

  25. I agree with Marc 100% on this and this is the higher standard that needs to be set until we get this country under control!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. lmao! public officials held to a hiogher standard? what freakin planet are you living on joe? Look around, ireton, mikulski owemalley kennedy's clinton obummer?
    Your naivity is amusing!

  27. Where are all these people who were saying Marc Kilmer for Council president when the John Cannon Bashing was going on? Oh, I guess that one person hasn't woken up yet to read this blog.

  28. America has dropped to an all time low , politics have gone down the tubes and they do and say what they want. Our ethics and moral values have eroded to new levels of dirt. All of the social medias present an opportunity to say things in a language we wouldn't say in person.
Sad but true. I find myself doing this on occasions here with comments. Anyway , I will say this , Obama made me a very bad person.

  29. 11:35 what do all those you named have in common? Drmocrats!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm impressed that he had the f bomb in him really...

    ReplyDelete
  31. need a man, not a boy in leadership.

    ReplyDelete
  32. For once I completely agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is an attack on the Conservatives. Bad move Sir! Now you are allowing the Dems to eat this up.

    ReplyDelete
  34. He's a T-party wingnut type that will put another Democrat, probably Hillary, in the White House next year.

Let me guess who he supports for Pres, but I can't single down one of these: Trump, Cruz, Santorum and Huckabee. Please tell us which it is, Mark.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree with 11:11...this is low brow stuff and Marc has always taken the intellectual approach when it comes to communications. The use of language in a society is indicative of where they are headed. When I see this from the likes of Kilmer, I hang my head and cry.

Marc...you opted for a higher standard when you raised your right hand and swore an oath. Now step up and apologize for your nonsense and don't do it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  36. There is one person that is on the attack against Councilman Kilmer and the person leaves a clue every time. He is the one making most of these comments and my bet it is a Democrat.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I just checked his page and the comment is no longer visible.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank goodness he took it down. He should be embarrassed it was ever there.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kilmer seems thoughtful and calm at Council meetings. This is really shocking coming from him. Could see it from some others on the Council first.

    ReplyDelete
  40. For those of you who think the F bomb is only for the low class, I think you'd be shocked to know the highly educated, influential people who use it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If you think Strasburg, Cannon, Creamer and others don't talk this way, you are delusional. They may not be saying it to "hippies", but you can bet they use it about those who oppose them. Coarseness has become mainstream, unfortunately.

  42. I grew up less than 7 miles from where Flt 93 crashed and my parents still live there. Every year I visit the memorial when I go back to visit. I can say that I am pleased I have never come across any of the 9-11 truth people pushing their views. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but you need to do it in a respectful manner. People travel to these places to reflect and pay their repsects to the people that were murdered. 9-11 truth has always been a political movement pushed by the left wing anti-Bush whackos. There are a few, Alex Jones in particular, that aren't left wing morons, but they are few and far between. Kilmer can voice his displeasure in a more reasonable manner. Although I can understand his frustration in dealing with those pushy jackasses.

  43. I agree 5:03 but it was his own post. He was nuts to write a comment like that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. This was a moment of poor judgment. Everyone makes a bad call every now and again. It's all over the blog so I am sure he's sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I have actually seen Kilmer reply to the blogs but not today, at least by name. I'm not sure he is sorry!

  46. There are those of us that believe both the democrats and the republicans are equally culpable. Bottom line is, if either side really wanted to solve this country's problems, those problems would be solved.

Perhaps some day soon, the people will come to recognize the left / right paradigm is an artificial construct, specifically designed by the powers that be to keep us squabbling amongst ourselves while they rape and pillage with impunity.

If you doubt this, all you have to do is look at the last five or six presidents and their actions. Each one, regardless of their "side of the aisle" has brought us inexorably closer to a totalitarian government. Obama, the purported "constitutional scholar" gave me some hope for about fifteen minutes. Until he filled his cabinet with bankers. And then, instead of repealing the totalitarian map, the unconstitutional "Patriot Act," he proceeded to extend and enhance it.

Until the people recognize this trend en masse and move to stop it, totalitarianism is where we are headed.

Unfortunately, I doubt America can be pulled away from its tailgating, ballgames and reality shows long enough to figure out they are chattel. Quite frankly, it saddens me to no end, to be awake in a sleeping world.

i say it all the time, just not to the face of some "hippie" insulting their mom like I'm in grade school.

  50. We all feel the same way about Hippies.

  51. What an ahole with a poor attitude and no sense of respect.

  52. Who the hell is Mark Kilmer anyway? Doesn't ring a bell.
Is that the guy who lives on Nanticoke Road across from the trailer park?

  53. Every time I see or hear the word "freaking" used as an adjective I hear the f-word. It ses to be an accepted use on Television for two years or so. It reminds me of when "darn" was a cheat for "damn" back when "damn" was still a swear word.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I agree with him...The progressive left has dumb ed down society to the point that this language is acceptable form of communication.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Should fire him immediately. He is a very hostil person. And what he did is considered DISORDERLY CONDUCT. How many kids heard him be so foul on this day?? How many kids read his post. I demand him to resign and will follow up with attorney general.

Um... Good Try you Homo from the party of Dumbocrap. You clowns are intolerant of others. You clowns should be ashamed of yourselves for voting for people like Obama, O'Malley and O'Liarton. Remember when your boy O'Liarton pulled out his little wanger in front of the female city employees in Mojo's?? You people voted for that clown so you people are responsible.
