This is the FOURTH local law enforcement vehicle accident in the past week.

  1. Nothing to see here folks, move along please (and no pictures either)!

  2. Whats the deal with the police apparently having a hard time keeping their cars on the road?

  3. 2:23 because they are human like the rest of us and make mistakes.

No they are not like the rest of us. They are special. They are talented enough to be able to talk on the phone while driving and using their computers! This is the 5th accident in 2 weeks involving police cars. Maybe they should obey the laws that the rest of us have to. Distracted driving can happen to anyone!

  5. Exactly distracted driving can happen too anyone. There is no difference in the police and us besides they have to enforce laws. How do you know what caused it? It doesn't state for all you know he could of been avoiding another accident, something could of ran out in front of him. Don't be so quick to judge officers just because there are some that don't fallow the law themselves.

  6. No joke I saw this officer as I was sitting at the Civic ave light waiting to turn left, he was busy on his computer, it caught my attention because I thought it was strange to see an officer in the right hand lane poking along. I saw some other white cars flying up the left hand lane tailgating one another after the light turned green but I don't think that white car was one of them. I saw the accident from a distance as I turned onto Main st but didn't realize it involved that officer.

  7. Got to leave those CEll phones alone dude....

  8. The taxpayers will pick up the tab and the next time you see that officer will be as he blows by you at 90mph in Salisbury to bust a woman for eating French fries on the way back to work.
For us, "we the people", at LEAST 3 tickets, insurance skyrockets, and points on the license.
For the cop, a NEW CAR!!!!
    COME ON DOWN!!!

  10. They also blow by you at 90 to go to a call for service in which they are unable to use lights and sirens for. I understand the frustration however if it was my son in a house with a man with a gun or an incident of that nature, and they were flying through town at 90 I would be very grateful and thank God they were there so quickly. My point is don't be so closed minded you never know what the reason is and you just may need their services some day.

    1. If a man was holding your son at gun point they would be given "code" to run lights and siren. Minor, non violent calls for service are code I- no lights/siren and obeying all traffic laws. The officer was probably on Facebook on his city laptop posting how great he/she is and ran off the road.

I can't stand to see people rite that...lol.

    It's actually:

    "could of ....could've"

  12. They can use lights a good portion of the way to any call. IF they're speeding without lights or sirens, it's probably go get a donut.

  13. You people are so stupid and obtuse.... The facts are in font of you in the picture... The cop was the only person involved... Nothing ran in front of the cop car BC if something had, other drivers would had to have moved out of the way too or would have hit it or there would be more cars in the trees or a pile up.. This cop was on the phone or computer, probably on Facebook, at the least this cop didn't pay attention and this is the result... What more shit has to happen to show you cops are incompetent????

  14. Maybe had a hangover from EVO the night before.

  15. Come on people we all know what happened: he had a dough nut in his left hand while talking on the phone and typing with his right hand and steering the car with his knee! Theses are some talented Kops we have round here the past week or so proves it they can text, talk, compute and drive and never worry about being charged like the low life citizens they are supposed to be serving. WTF?

  16. Maybe babs should post pictures of the officers who wreck their cars on line, I mean it works for shoplifters, right?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It is obvious what happened. The white car came to a sudden stop, probably because they weren't paying attention, and the cop ran off the road to avoid hitting the white car because he was following to closely and not paying attention.

  18. Their computer should not work when car is moving, they loose track of where they are

    ReplyDelete
  19. The left side of the car in the street is mashed in from a probable sideswipe; I did not get to see the right side of the cop car, but if he was staring at his computer when he got to the no merge lane merge at Main street, he may not have seen something he should have.

Someone told me once there were laws in place to keep people from distracted driving, but I think police are trained to be superhuman and immune to things like this.

Thanks for the added info, 3:11!

  20. A rag in Cecil County had a story on a multiple trooper accidents. Distracted driving is what I call it. Tax money pays for these cowboys flying down the pike with no regard.

  21. I have driven that piece of road frequently in the last 25 years and never had a need to wind up in the weeds, but that's just me.

3 lanes, all going the same way.

    Impossible!

  22. In early 2009 my son was t- boned in Wicomico County be a police car that failed to stop at a stop sign. No blue lights, no nothing, just not paying attention. His car was totalled and what do you know, no charges were filed against the officer. Unfortunately early in 2010 my son was murdered in Hebron, the case remains unsolved. His name was Preston Morehouse, if anyone has any info, please contact the authorities

    1. So sad. Wondering if you hired a lawyer and filed before your sons death? We have murderous officers here locally.

  23. Texting and driving as usual.

  24. I was driving on Naylor Mill the other night and I watched this MSP car riding this guys back bumper and then doing about 90 from Northwood to the red light. No lights no siren just acting like a jackass... It is irresponsible.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Now just think.... If a sheriff did this and got hurt, we would be paying for it. 2/3 their pay isn't good enough. They want us to pay the other 1/3 plus. Collective bargaining. Where we pay for officers stupidity and pre existing health.

  27. ... law enforcement are humans just like us they are allowed to make mistakes just like we do... i didnt know we had dozens of experts on how this crash occured ..wow.... if you think you can manage the radio, the computer and everything else that ppife officers are required to do going from and too calls then do it until then sit on your butt and keep your negativity to a minimum. .. because when crap hits the fan and you need them they answer that call and do there jobs

  29. Police Officers Speed I have been in a car with them and they rarely follow the laws which and also they claim to go to the academy and are trained in evasive driving they should never cause an accident EVER no if, and, or buts they are held to a higher standard as should be

  30. SPD has a long way to go to raise the bar. An inept, lying chief and patrol officers that act like jack booted thugs. None of it will change as long as they are working for Gayor Liarton

  31. Whose fault was it?

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's time for Wicomico County to make a county wide police force and take over all municipal police agencies. Then make the sheriff's office responsible for the jail, courts and processing papers.
