"Everybody Blames Obama When Gas Prices Go Up"

But no one seems to appreciate or recognize Obama when gas prices go down.

Well, this might be true. HOWEVER, November is quickly closing in, elections are just around the corner and what I personally see as unfortunate is the fact that IF it is possible to LOWER the prices, wouldn't people drive more if gas was a lot less?

There's always an ulterior motive. Stock up while you can.

  1. We are so awash with oil right now that we have started exporting oil for the first time in decades.

  2. So gas prices of over $3 per gallon is down?! I believe gas was around $1.85 when obammie took office.

  3. I believe it works the opposite.

People do not drive more because gasoline is cheaper.

Instead, because people are driving less gasoline usually cost more. The gas companies must charge more to make the same amount of profit because people are driving less.

The economy is still in bad shape. Therefore, there is less driving by people (fewer people have a job).

Right now however, the gas prices seem to keep falling? I think this is evidence that he prices were too high to start with. All of last year we had very high gas prices. Now the companies are lowering the price.

  4. The competition is fierce in Salisbury. Thirsty is killing everybody including the Wawa.

Good for the owner of that station! We can thank him for constantly keeping the pressure on Wawa.

  5. It will start going up right before Thanksgiving and again around Christmas. It always goes down right after the summertime, but it never goes down as much as it went up in the spring.

  6. The drop in price is directly related to high supply and decreasing demand in China. OPEC wants an emergency meeting called to cut supply and get the price back to $100 per barrel. Obama has nothing to do with any of this.

  7. The media was silent when prices went up dollars now they are rejoicing when they go down cents...Suspicious that they go down just prior to an election...So maybe the government can effect prices at will.

    Close, $1.84 to be exact.

I bet the Democrats won't blame that on Bush!

  9. A lot of young and elderly are no longer driving because of the cost of gas, car prices, and the high rates of insurance. For the poor and working poor, it is no longer affordable.

You are an idiot!! It's going down because it is an election and only because it is an election.

Just like the unemployment numbers are going down. The last time the unemployment numbers went down was right before the presidential election and that was only so the Democrats could say unemployment is going down so you idiots could vote for Obama. Now they want you idiots to vote for Democrats and idiots like you who think you are smart(as in your comment) are really to stupid to think for yourselves.

  16. Gas prices aren't totally correlated with oil prices. We have lost a lot of refining capacity, while simultaneously requiring 29344834834 different formulations for various markets. Build more refineries, and stick with a handful of blends across the country and we'd see much lower gas prices at any price for a barrel of oil.

  18. It all has to do with supply and demand.

  19. Obama is on the record saying he wants $8 a gallon gas.

  20. A question, if I may, because I'm surely no economist nor business guru either.
If it's all about supply and demand then why are the oil companies posting obscene profits? Seems to me that if it were truly a supply and demand issue and not price fixing profits would reflect it.

  21. It's not supply and demand it's oil speculators that work with the government to control prices.

  23. I don't buy gas or anything for that matter from any Tigermarts. I once called to ask what their gas prices were and they told me that they don't disclose that information over the phone. So guess what.
