  1. how can this all be for the students. That's BS!! Some of these expenditures are not even when school is in session! Bonnie Walston was Teacher of the Year LOL and she is one of the abusers of tax payer money? Bridget Reynolds must have been getting ready for a 4th of July gathering - certainly not for the students! Carol Harrington Wright's Market for $279.00 Really Carol???

  2. Every single one of these abuser should be fired and Frederickson should be the first cause he apparently condoned it and is now trying to cover it up!

  3. Amy Cockey, 3-18-12, $772.00 @ Tim's Pizza? March 18,2012 was a Sunday! This is school business???

  4. They are criminals stealing from the tax payers, termination should be next step and monthly monitoring of cards for continued abuse.

  5. As a county employee, we buy our coffee, food, bottled water, but yet those who make three and four times what we make use their cards. Arrogant, pompous a$$holes. If we had cards they would scrutinize every purchase. Double standards. Yet one employee bought toys for their desk. Tricky Ricky got to go!

$772.00 for pizza. Who in the hell are they feeding; all the homeless on Delmarva. Oh, must be the large Beluga caviar a and lobster pizzas.

You are going to be surprised when you view the entire list. A month ago I stood in front of the County Council and spoke about leadership. I learned a lot about leadership during my twenty one years in the service. Leadership starts at the top. When the person in charge is doing questionable activities as if it is okay then those under them will do it also. In our county there is now a culture of "It's Okay" This culture is only emboldened when you have the school superintendent tell the Legislative Auditors that he doesn't have to abide by their rules and that he only follows the School Boards directions.Well folks, watch what the School Board spent using their secretary's purchasing card. I think it would be great if Joe posted the purchasing cards rules and regulations here on line. As for poor performance in leadership in the military, the first thing they do is remove the leadership and start rebuilding. That's where you voters come in. God Bless OUR Military. John Palmer, Delmar, Md.

  8. I retired from a MD state university. When we worked through lunch or had a meeting involving food we always had to pay out of our pocket.

  9. Thank goodness my purchases weren't included with this list.People would have had a fit.

  10. Really, and you know NOTHING will be done.

  11. so glad my teachers are doing well... NOT!

    ReplyDelete
  12. John Palmer is absolutely correct. The tone starts at the top. When the top officials engage in questionable actions so do the worker bees, because they know it's accepted. The top doesn't say anything because when caught they have scapegoats to take some of the heat off of themselves.

  13. Please remember these people are doing the job they were told to do by supervisors

  14. Wow the B.O.E. is eating well. Is there any way to get what the meals were for. All that money could be used for sports and learning. The fees for kids to play sports is a political ploy. I have lost faith in the B.O.E. I felt bad when they said sports and educational programs had to be cut due to budget issues.

What the hell Fredickson. I do understand executive meetings and taking meetings out of the building. Maybe if you cut it by 50%. I could see that once in a while for derserving staff. I dont know I dont get.

Also who was Sheriff Lewis feeding on the county dollar. I do not get that at all. It is peanuts compared to others in this county.

The funny thing is those that make the most eat free I guess. It really makes no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 11:10, true but many of these people are supervisors.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It's unbelievable, and unfortunately 9:49 is correct: nothing will be done about it. Government has to spend, spend, spend; otherwise, next year's budget might not be increased. Oh, heavens, we can't let that happen. These people aren't even going to slow it down. They're all liberal gov't. employees and they know there's not a snowball's chance a new regime will ever be voted in...especially if there's computer ballots.

    ReplyDelete
  17. What concerns me the most is even if these were valid purchases at the directions of supervisors. The BOE screams every year they don't have enough money we need to create a new tax,fee or raise something to fund them. Let's start with county legislation that prevents the use of county funds to purchase food/alcohol related expenses other than the food provided by school cafeterias.

If these people want a job with flexible spending and expense accounts with no oversight. Go work in private industry. These people want the privacy of private industry but they don't want to work as hard for it as their counterparts do. Public service has turned into a joke, where people feel entitled and want something for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Stop the charge card and gift cards and you won't have to raise the county taxes!

  19. AMen 1:15!
People should be up in arms
about this---this is your money they
    are free loading on!
The Board should not be using tax money to buy food period ---for anybody, students included!!!
    It is totally disgusting---I have
no respect for those who abuse!!!

    Joe Carmean----get on it!!!!! You're
the only one up there with the nerve
    to make them accountable.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thank you Joe & keep posting!!!!!
    People should retaliate against our
    County Goverments---it's deplorable.

Imagine the Board of Ed Spending over $400.00 on JULY 3RD , when school wasn't in scession at Taylors
    Barbeque---wow somebody had a nice
4th of July at taxpayers expense!!!

Not necessarily, there are often summer parties for the employees of the schools. In fact, I have old 8mm movies of summer parties held in the summer for BOE employees (teachers, custodians, cafeteria workers and their families) in the late 60's and early 70's.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @2:56

Why are our tax dollars spent on it? If your going to have "Office Parties" everyone should chip in and spread to cost out of their own wallets.

You really feel okay knowing your hard earned money that was taken from you via taxes, was spent at establishments so they can have "summer parties" "office parties"..etc..etc

    I do not.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @2:44

What was the justification of the buffalo wild wings expense? Anymore information on it other than the charge?

    ReplyDelete
  25. 2:44, this is what a difference the posting of all of the expenses has made. Absolutely none. They will do as they please. Big power, tiny accountability.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It is time for this to stop!! Where I work in the county we have to even buy or bring lunches, water etc.
Let Joe Holloway get to the bottom of this thing, he is the only one that can straighten things out in this county, or has the guts to do it.
Also put Bob Culver in office and it is a known fact that he will look after us tax payers an stop this foolish spending.

  28. Do you relay think it makes a difference whether it is a republican or democrat in these positions when it comes to the perks of the job? I'm a republican and will be voting republican but I guarrantee that the expense accounts will continue to be utilized by whomever is in office and I hope that Joe continues to publish them after the election.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 4:59 you're correct, it's no longer democrats or republicans, it them dang politicians.

  30. This is what happens when local people continue to vote for Democrats. It starts at home people. It starts on the local level and it migrates to the State level and then to the Federal level.

  31. We pay for food stamps for families who need that help. That should take care of food for the kids. We pay taxes for the salaries of WCBOE employees so they can buy their meals out of what they earn. Why are we spending tens of thousands of dollars on food?

What difference does it make? You sound like Hillary Clinton. It makes a big difference because all of these wasteful spenders are Democrats and I have a feeling you are a Democrat.

  33. Bonnie L Walston's husband David Walston was Norman Conway's campaign treasurer. I bet it was her that was actually the treasurer and did all the work. Interesting how she has a $150,000 BOE supervisors position. Thanks Norman.

  34. THEY don't care what you think. At the recent OC Springfest, there was some guy named Jonathan Goof who blocked his (dual wheelie truck full of campaign sign equipment) that blocked the flow of traffic to the OC inlet. This white haired "beauty" did the round in his starched, roll up sleeved shirts pitching his holiness. Never heard of the guy but he was determined to let others know who he was (whoever that is). I kne what some goof was running for office. I just didn't know which GOOF that was.

  35. Good job, Joe. Keep the pressure on. Need to look at other local government in the county that has problem.

  36. There is no need for those multiple $100 plus spending at any restaurant. This is nothing but free food being eaten at the tax payers expense and quality food places.

You are a clueless idiot. The appointed members of the WCBOE don't get any perks you speak of.

Who is going to pay for 2 elections every 2 years?

How much money does the appointed BOE members get paid?

How much are you going to donate to the candidates campaign?

Who are you going to get to run to put up with this crap?

Why don't your run instead of running your mouth since you don't know what you are talking about.

It costs a lot of money to run a campaign for little to no compensation and you will end up getting candidates that you don't even know.

They may be doing a great job and get voted out anyway.

If elections are the answer then why in the Hell are we still stuck with Rick Pollitt and Norman Conway? I rest my case!!

  50. People listed like Bonnie Walston and Bryan Foret are department heads in the school system that should know better. They need to be stopped through termination. If their subordinates see them doing this stealing from the tax payers then they will think it is Ok for them to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I do not know if Culver is the mesiah we all think he is. I agree it is time for a major changes in all aspects of the nations politics. The young are brain washed to believe they are entitled to these perks. Look at the B.O.E. there is no reason on God's green earth they should be spending that kind of money on luncheons. WTH people you got kitchens buy crap from Sam's club cook a freaking hot dog and some burgers lol. Really this just makes no sense.

As for Joe Holloway he is tight. The guy is so tight I think he is saving up to be jewish. Oh that was not pollitcally correct was it. That is what we need though.

    Sorry Libs you been Alberogized.

  53. Regarding money spent by BOE, if a class, grade level, or school has an activity that requires or (wants) food the school (teachers) collect money and send it to the office. The school then sends out one check. This is not tax dollars being spent. It is money collected from students and families. Same goes for retirement gift certificates... It's donations by teachers and then the school purchases this certificate. It is not out of the BOE budget. And to report it this way is irresponsible

Damage control from a Board of Ed employee.

Maybe some of the money came that way, but most of it didn't. This money was spent illegally and the parties involved should be terminated. Especially John Fredericksen.

  60. From the Daily Times: "My Turn 2 Cook should love the Wicomico County Board of Education. The Laurel catering business racked up more than $12,000 in sales in the past two fiscal years, or $392 average per transaction, doing business through district-issued employee credit cards.:

You mean to tell me that the Board of Education didn't have the decency to spend money locally in Wicomico County. You can't tell me this isn't the only catering business close by.

Even though it's a waste of tax dollars why didn't they use the Vo Tech program to cater these events. The students would be learning and thousands of dollars would be saved.

This my friends is fraud. John Fredericksen and his staff should be fired. There is no reason the cafeterias and Vo Tech students shouldn't be used.

At one time I thought we had a first class CTE(Vo Tech) program, but this has proven me wrong. We also have a failing school system with years of fraudulent waste.
