Bad Boys Metro- Following the Salisbury Fire Department

Salisbury Fire Department

The Salisbury Fire Department would like to thank Jacob Widgeon for taking the last four months and following the SFD. Jacob is a student at Salisbury University and a Volunteer Firefighter in Worcester County. Jacob and Salisbury University approached the SFD about the documentary. Excellent Work !!

  1. Yuk!!

Still doesn't change my mind about the need to have over 60 paid firemen. Wasted tax dollars.

  2. It doesn't matter what you think. The firemen are not going anywhere. At least this young man is doing something positive. You have something negative to say about everything.

  3. I do not have a half hour to waste looking at firemen wasting my money. Make it a 3 minute skit and maybe I'll watch it.

I've already wasted hours of working time to pay these idiots through my taxes.

I'm busy working, and don't have time for your "video" that begs for more money.

Catch up to me in 2065.

    1. This video was not made for the fire departments profit- while I certainly believe they deserve it. This was merely a video to satisfy a college project (30 minute requirement) and in turn reveal to the public a more in depth side of the fire department protecting out citizens.

I apologize that it was not shorter, however, I feel they had quite the story to tell.

  4. There is nothing "Metro" about this area.

  5. Why do we need so many paid fire fighters? My dad was a volunteer for SFD and according to him, the volunteers were the ones who got the job done. I don't see a problem staffing a station 24/7, but having 2 other staffed (during day) and a new one in the works? Total waste.

  6. Somebody is getting greased. It just does not add up.

  7. I skimmed through it until I saw fat @ss Hoppes pretending he was being professionally interviewed. Very nauseating and I couldn't watch it any longer. What a worthless piece of human excrement wasting valuable oxygen.

Why do I get the feeling this is a paid fireman with a cocky attitude? Interesting that this Pompous Punk can predict the future saying the paid firemen are going no where. I wouldn't be so cocky if I was you Ms. Bozo.

The 2015 election will hopefully clean house and send the libtards packing.

  9. I didn't watch the entire video but from what I did watch, it seemed to be a quality video. A lot of history and information in the 7 minutes that I viewed.

Whether or not we need the amount of ff's we currently have whether tax monies are wasted for this dept. is still open for debate.

I think it's better to have them and not need them versus needing them and not having them. That doesn't mean we should have waste either.

  10. I'm with 7:54, and I don't have a half hour to waste watching a video that puts tax paid ambulance chasers upon some pedestal.

  11. @7:08 If they can't come up with the money that the grant supplied before there will be FIREMAN going somewhere! DUH!!!!

You obviously don't pay Salisbury City taxes.

It is not open for debate.

You make it sound like if we got rid of them because we don't need them the calls wouldn't be handled. You couldn't be anymore wrong. That is what volunteer firefighters do. We have an entire county full of volunteers that can pick up the slack. In Salisbury the key is to recruit and retain more volunteer.

You must be a paid guy from Salisbury.

And I think you also voted for Obama.

  14. Fatso Cheef Hopeless keeps belching in the interview. I almost barfed watching that. He has gotten so fat over the years that he needs a full belly 24 hours a day and the break down of that junk food is causing him gas that needs to be expelled.

They have a $14,000,000 fire station with a state of the art Gym and he is to lazy to walk that extra distance to get on the tread mill. What a lazy fat slob.

This is the same clown that posted the same comment in the story about County Executive letter about the Salisbury Fire Department self dispatching itself to ambulance calls and demanding more money from the county.

Proves to me that it is Hoppes or some other paid fireman trying to justify their job.

  17. You didn't have to shut down one of the station, Station 1. You chose to do so as a scare tactic and it didn't work. The job got done and the calls were handled. Only proved that you didn't need 3 day time crews on duty during the day.

  18. I loved hearing the ambulance tones being dispatched during the "interview." Proves the Ambulances run their butts off. Also proved the "leaders" doesn't care about the medical emergencies as they were quick to silence their pagers and ignore what the call was.

  19. Brian please! Those 3,000 calls you mentioned at around 17:20 were not fires. Just because a fire engine was self dispatched to chase an ambulance call please don't deceive the public by saying they were fires.

  20. They should have shown the fake college degree that Rick Hoppes proudly display's on his wall.

  23. Jim Ireton said "it is a very exciting time for the Salisbury fire servin and let me really tell you why. With 2,986 fires and 8,809 EMS calls we are, uh, the bid department here on Delmarva."

Jim Ireton you are nothing but a lying wannabe politician.

  24. Why would an employ get an award for doing their jobs? I don't get it.

Does the Pepsi truck driver get and award for driving the Pepsi truck and delivering cases of Pepsi to a convenience store? Such bravery for stacking cases of Pepsi right next to cases of Coke.

  28. Jim Ireton told the tax payers in this video and the BS ceremony that day that he was again going to rape the tax payers by building a new $14,000,000 fire station. And guess what? No one has made one comment about that so I guess it will happen.
