Bridgeville Man Faces 11th DUI

The Delaware State Police have arrested a 77-year-old Bridgeville man Nov. 2 after a traffic stop leads to his 11th DUI.

A Delaware State trooper was driving southbound at about 6:40 p.m. on Coverdale Road just north of Hastings Farm Road when he saw a truck speeding, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

The truck was in the southbound lane and swerved into the northbound lane several times, Fournier said.

  5. No prosecutor ever thought to charge him as a habitual offender, and put him away for years?

  6. My DUI law proposal:

First offense: $500 fine, ignition interlock, probation for 3 years (pretty much the same as it is now).

Second offense: 5 years in prison, no parole

Third offense: Life in prison. No parole. Three strikes and you're out.

Sure would make the roads safer.

  8. Yeah, get him back out there!!! The stuff that gets swept under the rug around here baffles me. He's not even the worse. The worst offenders get off with a warning because of who they know.
