Gansler Calls Himself Pro-Business Democrat In A One-Party State; Joins GOP Candidates In Calling For Tax Cuts

Attorney General Douglas Gansler declared Maryland a one-party state at a forum on manufacturing for candidates for governor.

“We are a one-party state, and so the Democrat is going to end up winning the deal [the election] at the end,” Gansler said, seemingly dismissing Republican and independent voters. ”We have a choice of a pro-business Democrat or a continuation of what we have now.”

Gansler’s principal Democratic foe, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, was a no show at the event, and his campaign told organizers they had a scheduling conflict they would not describe. Brown has already been endorsed by much of the party establishment and a number of unions.

  3. 4:41 So you believe Maryland is a one party State? I think most voters in Maryland are more intelligent to believe that. Your political machine must be advising you that under the O'Malley administration we have more Democrats on welfare and food stamps than we have working and paying taxes.

  4. 5:25. Are you kidding me? Go look at the roster for Maryland's legislators and you will see about 7 Republicans.

Yes, Yes, Yes, this state most definitely is a one party state. Those 7 R's have virtually no voice and O'Malley, apparently your hero, is working hard to gerrymand the districts to cut even those 7 R's out.

It's fools like you that got us here.

  6. 5:55 this is 5:25. Are you telling me that there are only 7 Republican Legislators in the State of Maryland? Whatever you are smoking, I want some. And you call me a fool? You need a nap, or a transfusion!

  9. Gansler - lesser of two evils? Maybe, maybe not.

Go back and check on the legal opinions he's floated on behalf of OweMalley's laws, policies and procedures. Still smiling?

The Lt. Gov has just nodded agreement to all of OweMalley's but has not had any power; Gansler did.

All of the Dems have been in lockstep for OweBama and OweMalley. Don't be fooled.

  10. I said there are about 7 - could be less since the last time I checked.

Either way, my point is there are a MAJORITY of democrats and they RULE.

And when I say RULE, I mean RULE.
