MASS. POLICE: BOMB SUSPECTS DIDN'T HAVE GUN PERMIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts police official say the brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon before having shootouts with authorities didn't have gun permits.

Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas tells The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that neither Tamerlan Tsarnaev (tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) nor his brother Dzhokhar had permission to carry firearms.

He says it's unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren't considered public records.

  1. And they are surprised by this? Pass all the laws you want -- crooks will still find a way to obtain and use guns regardless!!

  2. So were they hoping they had permits to show the rest that even the law abiding people don't need guns

  3. Maybe some more gun laws would have prevented this (not).

  6. I'm going out on a limb here and guessing they didn't have a pressure cooker bomb license, either?
Let's make that law as well so this stuff will never happen in the future?

Do any of you who are for the new gun bills understand my point here?

  8. Throw the book at them for this real crime against humanity. Who cares about the bombing, it dosen't fit clearly with the anti-gun agenda.

  9. Part of the gun control bill was expanded background checks.
In light of the fact muslim jihadist terrorist #1's radical views were handed to the FBI on a Silver Platter and they failed to recognize he was a danger, what could ever make anyone think expanded background checks would be effective?
More laws will not make us safer. The government is not capable. It's up to us citizens to teach our children morals, including the value of life.

  10. They didn't have a bomb permit or a boater's license, either. Do you think that they really care what kind of permits the government might ask of them?
