Student Charged With Rape At Md. High School

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Howard County police have arrested a 17-year-old student at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia in connection with the rape of another student at the school.

Police said Tuesday that DeShawn Jones of Columbia will be charged as an adult with second-degree rape.

Officers say Jones approached a 14-year- old student Monday in a hallway at the school during class hours and asked her to cut class with him. Police say the two walked around inside the school and Jones pulled the girl into an unoccupied room.

  2. so you fault the girl, not the suspect, or the girl's parents, or the school which probably has surveillance and teachers with hall duty? WOW!

  4. Seems to be happening more and more often. Maybe we should ban schools.

  5. If leaving your car running unattended is a crime by enabling the criminals to steal it, then this stupid girl "enabled" the rapist. Even children should have enough sense to not step out in front of a moving truck. But then maybe nobody ever told her that boys might rape girls. And just for the record, I blame everybody involved in this poor girl's life....
