NFL will reportedly lose $5.5 billion if games are played in empty stadiums

If NFL teams play games without fans in the stands in 2020, the league could lose $5.5 billion, according Forbes’ Mike Ozanian.

That figure is based on stadium revenue from the 2018 season, according to Forbes.

The NFL would lose $5.5 billion of stadium revenue (the sum of tickets, concessions, sponsors, parking and team stores) — or 38% of its total revenue — based on figures for the 2018 season (ranking below). But the impact on the individual teams would vary greatly. For example, the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots would lose over half their total revenue while the Buffalo Bills, the Tennessee Titans and the Cincinnati Bengals would lose less than one-third.

  4. And hopefully a lot more than that with all the dumb stuff they are doing. It’s a great business case to show that even with a monopoly you can still screw things up and must listen to the customer.

  9. It is easy to lose that amount of money when your product can be supplied by any group of 10 year old boys.

  11. Ticket sales are gravy for them. The big money is TV deals. When no one watches, advertisers aren’t going to pony up for air time. I’ve got no intention of watching any sports if the continue to glorify the organization that is demanding reparations, property redistribution, and the ending of the nuclear family.

  13. I use to enjoy watching football. Their change towards America has caused me to now delete football from my left. Perhaps the sports team can find a new sport. How about Professional KNEELING!

  17. Good, then their brand of liberalism will fall on their own swords and the ignorance in this Country will be dealt a huge blow towards it demise.

  18. I haven't been one in the stands since the kneeling began. No loss to me. If pro football goes away for good, I don't care. The NFL went from sports to all about the money, and nothing else...until it became about the politics. They acted as if 1/2 of the country means nothing to them. So be it. Like Glen said "I'm not gonna miss you."

  24. Couldn't care less. The NFL hasn't paid any taxes since it's inception. It's NOT a church. Time to start paying up!

  25. I agree with 12:13; they will lose much more than that when we the people cut the cord on cable...our family and extended family are all canceling our cable and getting roku so we can chose what we want to watch...no longer watching sports that don't honor our flag/country/military...period!!!

  28. The streaming menu should include a disrespect rating so viewers can choose without a preview. Just an icon will do, standing or kneeling.

    2. Wondering if their fake cause is worth the money they’re going to lose and the possibility of going bankrupt. The NFL may be seeing it’s last season. Nobody cares about them anymore.

  40. They get on their knees and in an act of submission to Marxism

    ReplyDelete
  41. So happy that these spoiled brats, kneeling for nothing, lose their piggy bank.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Could not care less about the stupid NFL. They’re an unAmerican outfit unworthy of fans or anyone’s energy. Spoiled brat athletes that bilk millions, for basically doing nothing is not what anyone would call a contribution to society. Let them play to empty stadiums. Their tickets have gotten way over priced and aren’t worth it in the end. The NBA and Baseball League can also suck it. They’re just as bad and they clearly don’t learn from each other’s mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Couldn't possibly care less. Haven't watched since the take a knee B.S. a few years ago. Screw them.

  44. BLM is learning about WMM. White Money Matters.

  45. All of you losers are still going to watch anyway. You come here and beat your chest, post a bunch of racist bullshit, claim you'll never watch NFL again, then 2-3 weeks into the season, you'll be sitting in a bar watching the game anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I hope NFL looses 1 billion per knee, per game until they're broke.

    ReplyDelete
  47. question, would you be allowed to wear anti-police slogans on your uniform or your suit where you work? or how about a white lives matter shirt, or a patch with kkk on it? or maybe put the name of a white man who was shot by a black man on your work shirt, talk about dividing the country! F those Fing bunch of racist bastards! USA is the greatest county in the world, sounds like they need to go play with there balls somewhere else!

    ReplyDelete
  48. But consider how much better the absence of sports will be on our landfills.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like to watch football but having a hard time accepting those you make millions (in America) to play the game take a knee. If it is so bad- leave this great country and see what you can do in another. We won't miss you. Don't come back.

  50. I will never watch another game.
