Hasbro put out a troll doll that 'gasps and giggles' when a button on its 'private area' is pushed

The toymaker has agreed to pull the product from shelves after massive backlash

Toymaker Hasbro has agreed to pull a new Trolls doll from shelves after outraged parents launched online campaigns exposing how the doll "gasps and giggles" when a button located on its "private area" is pushed, with critics saying that it is an attempt to groom children.

A petition calling for the "Trolls World Tour Giggle and Sing Poppy" doll to be removed from shelves has amassed nearly 330,000 signatories as of this writing. The petition reads:
Our society is conditioning our children to think pedophilia is ok. This Trolls World Tour doll named Poppy has a button on her private area under her skirt. When you push this button on the doll's private she gasps and giggles. This is not okay for a child's toy! This toy needs to be removed from our stores. What will this toy make our innocent, impressionable children think? That it's fun when someone touches your private area? That pedophilia and child molestation are ok? It's not ok! It's not fun! It's damaging and has long term affects on a child's mental/physical health! Sign this petition to get this toy removed from shelves and help #SaveTheChildren! Children are our future and WE are their voice!

Utah mother Jamie Nelson Cornaby demonstrated the sounds the doll makes in an online video, saying "to me, it's just like sexual sounds, and it's so disturbing."

  1. Wow a toy with button one presses to allow the Troll to Giggle and Sing (which is in the title of the doll).

Seems to me Hasbro is a bit smarter than the average hurt feelings Karen's out there.

2020 has been an awful year and its only mid August.

    1. You’re a pedophile and I hope your comment is traceable you need to be on a watch list

  2. The doll has a button on it's belly that you can press. Then there is a second button in the private area. The second button pressed makes a weird giggle sound. It seems strange to me with all this talk of sex trafficking of children. This has nothing to do with the "Karen's" out here and the doll should be pulled.

  3. 9:20 you are sick if you think this is ok. (How long have you been hoping to use the term Karen in a sentence?). In this case, most of us side with the parents.

  6. 9:20
It's not that it giggles and sings. It is the position of the button. The button is in between the legs of the doll.

  7. They could have put that button almost anywhere, but they chose the vaginal area? It's a short trip for a little kid, boy or girl, to take a cue from this doll and go for some very early learning, wanted or not.

  10. Whoa, I usually think people are stupid for complaining about stuff like this, but come on? you don't have to be smart to figure out it could have been put somewhere else?? I mean that is a little sick

  11. There is a button on the doll's tummy. Why in the world does there even need to BE a button in the privates area? Some pretty sick design engineers out there if you ask me

  12. Point being, why would a national company develop a toy, normally go through their LEGAL community, practices/standards, etc., etc., etc. produce and put it out on the market?

Not to mention a national company would run some sort of a pilot dry run with the community/families/etc to get good/bad/indifferent opinions. Kinda like the movie industry early releasing a movie to see how folks react.

Do any of you complaining not think this doesn't happen in private industry. Bad reports make or break companies today or even the last 25 years. Their business model (HASBRO) has been around since many of us were kids back in the 20th century.

The money aspect is also ridiculous in all of this - the company not vetting anything would be a death sentence.

Don't like the toy - don't buy it.

Wear a mask instead and make damn sure you VOTE in Nov. No bitchin if you don't.
