The day Barack Obama launched Black Lives Matter

On the morning of March 23, 2012, after introducing the new head of the World Bank in the White House Rose Garden, Barack Obama took just one question, likely pre-arranged.

It was on the recent shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Said Obama for the ages, "My main message is to the parents of Trayvon: If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon."

In projecting Trayvon as a "son," Obama strongly suggested that all black children were equally vulnerable to the predations of white men. Four weeks after the shooting, Obama had no excuse for not knowing the facts of the case. This would prove to be the most destructive moment of his presidency.

Without a hint of regret, the most powerful institutions of the nation – the Department of Justice, the leading civil rights groups, the White House – conspired to send George Zimmerman, an Hispanic Obama supporter and civil rights activist, to prison for the rest of his life. Without any meaningful exceptions, the mainstream media enabled this dark turn in American history.

  1. Obama did more to destroy race relations than any other POTUS. Racism was not a major issue, for the most part, until he got elected and starting using race as a political weapon.

  2. That P.O.S. did soooo much to destroy the USA. It’s the only thing he can take credit for because he succeeded. It would not bother me to see that trash in front of a firing squad. Sad thing, the good POTUS Trump has been blamed for all the bad that the failed dude did. Thats’s okay, you’ve noticed after all this time President Donald J. Trump continues to advance and get the job done with integrity.

And he was 100% right. Get it through your thick skulls. Are all white men evil? No way! As a black man I have had plenty of coaches, teachers, and mentors who were white men out to do good things in the community. But are there plenty of white men out to do harm, YES. But even that is not the problem, because there are plenty of bad people in all races. The issue is a system that has often tried to sweep the crimes of those bad white men under the rug, especially when they are police.

Put it this way. I'm a black man with the highest educational degree, a salary higher than most Americans, and active members in the community. Yet in the fall when I put on a hoodie to go out on my morning walk, I'll be approached by many as if I'm a criminal looking for trouble.

Don't agree with the BLM platform, fine. Listen, learn, and use facts to address the issue. Can all the cry baby emotions and whining about Obama. He simply responded to the facts that many of us know from our collective experience. And....he's no longer president guys.

    1. Well you would need to explain the facts mentioned in praising the failed guy that held us hostage for eight years. Oh, by the way, I didn’t vote for him.

    2. I disagree with most of your comment. You stated you are an educated black man with a salary higher than most Americans. First, maybe it's because your skin is black that you were given an opportunity to be educated over another race that was just as smart as you. How did you get so educated - wealthy dad or monies from taxpayers.
Second, Obama destroyed this country. Obama was out for Obama. He didn't want to give up the Presidency. That's why he 8s now using Biden as his puppet. What college did you attend? How the hell are you making big bucks in Salisbury? I understand if this is not printed.

  5. I truly believe that part of the black community after he was elected thought he would surpass even Jesus on miracles. That had a false sense of security. They thought everything was going to be turned their way. Wnen it wasn't because Obama was part of the establishment, and running a game on them they blamed the white community. Notice he was never blamed for anything in the media or otherwise. So they don't blame him for the failures, and the things they didn't get, they blame the white community for holding him back from giving it to them as they saw it. Talk about brainwashing. So here we are. In the midst of a race war, and he and his wife run off to make millions with Netflix, still runnin' his mouth when he can, because he loves attention. So he looks like a black man at the highest level that still can't get anywhere because of white America. And alot of us know damn well better.

    1. Well said. It is true. While I was waiting to vote against Obama a black girl in front of me kept saying. -- our Savior Obama.

    2. After Obama won, a Black man jeered at some white people, including me, “By the time he’s done, YOU’LL be picking cotton.” I do think he believed that.
Yes, we are now paying for what they see as Obama’s failures. How many more generations are we going to be doing this? They are running out of people to blame.

  7. The damage OBAMA did to the USA is immeasurable. No doubt he set back race relations at least 35 years. It will take decades to cure his damage.BIDEN would be another NIGHTMARE.

  8. 1153 - nice put. He no longer is President, but will forever be labeled. Right/wrong/indifferent. Sad but absolutely true. A generation change will eventually eliminate that mindset - but most of us today won't be around to see that happen.

    Lather/rinse/repeat.

  9. So if Obama had a son, he would be a thug who tried to kill a man? Sounds about right.

LOL x 3. *Me thinks you are the same racist ignoramus who wrote 11:53 AM. How convenient to be back to back posts. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Your "highest educational degree" is worthless because you are about as dumb as a rock and your degree came from a worthless HBCU that hands out diplomas like they are handing out candy. Your degree and most all degrees from HBCU's aren't worth the paper they are printed on so the laugh is on you, Homey!

  14. The fact that so many blacks still idolize B.O proves just what a dishonest immoral sinful race most are. It's not surprising considering very few alive today have ever had a moral person in their lives. Most ever lie about being Christians. You can't be a democrats and be a Christian. You can lie about it all day long but God sees and He will continue to curse them until they stop following the devil.

  15. 1:37 you disagree because you either are too lazy to gather the facts are you are unwilling to accept the truth. Either way you seem to fill in your knowledge gaps with flights of fancy.

    - Education: Dude, I used to run circles (grades wise) through most the competition (black, white, or purple) through school. LOL. Your own assumption that somehow I had opportunities because of skin color, based simply off my putting the words "educated" and "black" in the same comment, show us where your mental state is

    - Wealthy Dad or Money From Tax Payers: LOL even more funny. Dude I grew up in a trailer in a town built on minimum wage jobs. My folks busted their butt for every cent they got. Did I get tax payer money? You best believe it! Medicade was the only way my folks could afford me not dying from asthma as a kid, for example. I'm paying those fed student loans every month and will be doing so likely up to the day I retire. And you best believe I took advantage of the same Pell grants millions of other students of all stripes received. You see smart people at one time realized that if you are going to build a national economy based on technology and innovation, it makes sense that the country invest in education. Sorry if you missed that boat or don't understand the connection.

    - "How are you making big bucks in Salisbury?": you continue to show you are not the brightest bulb in the box dude. Do yourself a favor; free your mind from the crazy assumptions and fantasy world you live in. Actually ask questions and gather information first, THEN create an informed opinion. For example - nothing I said indicates I'm in Salisbury.

    - Obama and economy: you've clearly shown you have no clue how to gather and interpret data so I don't expect that you have even taken a look at the economic numbers before, during, and after the Obama Presidency. Come back when you have done your homework. Even the most uninformed individual should be able to realize that a massive world wide recession kicked off months before election day 2008, but we saw solid significant growth out of that recession over 8 years with a strong wind at our backs going into Trump. Fortunately for all of us, we have seen that growth continue (pre-COVID). Its a great American story of resilience and strength. A big win for all of us. Too bad you folks won't take off your blinders to see that.

  16. 305 and 347 apparently either you can't read or you really don't understand how racism works. lol

411 you folks clap when Trump trashes veteran US servicemen who have multiple decades of distinguished service. You clap as he blows a hole in the national debt and deficit. You clap as he shuts down the government so he can use US tax dollars to pay for a wall he repeatedly promised would be paid for by Mexico. Yet you are throwing insults about idolizing?

  17. 5:09 As you claim to be so wealthy, why haven't you already paid off your fed. student loans?
