Mayor Jorge Elorza signed an executive order on Wednesday to pursue a “truth-telling and reparations process” in the Rhode Island city.
Elorza’s efforts come on the heels of Ashville, North Carolina, approving reparations that will “make investments in areas where Black residents face disparities.”
The Providence mayor announced his similar intentions during a press conference on Wednesday.
“Today’s announcement is a commitment that we’re making to a process,” Elorza said during a press conference.

i just became a legal citizen yesterday do i have to pay these 160 year old + reparations or is that just for the people who have been here for generations?
ReplyDeleteEngland and Africa are responsible for slavery in America... Americans fought two wars to end it where is the reparations for their blood ???
ReplyDeleteFunny how these groups claim we must let go of the old when it comes to statues and the constitution. Why don't they just let go of slavery? As far as reparations go I thought that's what welfare and food stamps were all about. Let's face it, if it wasn't for slavery all the blacks complaining wouldn't even be here to complain. Why not just give them a ticket (reparation) back to Africa?
ReplyDeleteDo white people get kickbacks for putting up with this ludicrous chit?

ReplyDeleteHard to believe that there is that many voters who support these democrats positions.
ReplyDeleteall that were enslaved received 40 acres and a mule and the chance to go back to Africa or Liberia. Liberia was funded by the US tax payers. It to turned into a shithole because the people did not want to take care of it and keep the same people in charge, just like the US inner cities. They turn everything they touch into a shitholes. keep cheering and voting for Democrats this is what you get.
ReplyDeleteI’m certainly not in favor of paying repetitions. Just another “woke” excuse to be lazy and sponge of all of us that work for a living.
ReplyDeleteIf you’re willing to renounce your citizenship and leave the country I’m all for it
ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: As I said yesterday, let them set a price on reparations and then allow us to deduct the costs we have incurred over the last, let’s say, two hundred years for all the issues negros have cost us taxpayers. Every aspect of the massive use of our criminal justice system should be included in the total amount they owe us. I suspect that they will end up having to pay us for their outrageous criminal behavior for all those years.
ReplyDeleteNorthWest Woodsman I could not agree more with your analogy. Spot on!
ReplyDelete"Mayor Jorge Elorza"
