Maryland Reports Record 21,140 COVID-19 Tests, Positive Trends Continue

Maryland Has Conducted More Than 800,000 Tests, More Than 220 Testing Sites OpenSeven-Day Positivity Rate Is 4.45%, Daily Positivity Rate Is 3.67%Total Current Hospitalizations Are 392, With 114 ICU Beds In Use State Is Reporting Nine Confirmed Deaths
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced that Maryland has now surpassed more than 800,000 COVID-19 tests, including a record 21,140 tests over the last 24 hours, as the state’s key health metrics continue to trend in a positive direction. State health officials are monitoring the spikes and outbreaks in neighboring states, as well as the rising positivity rate among young people.
More Than 800,000 COVID-19 Tests, Including Record 21,140 Tests. Maryland continues to expand its testing capacity as part of a long-term strategy. In total, Maryland has now conducted 807,926 COVID-19 tests, including a record 21,140 tests over the last 24 hours. 643,391 Marylanders have now been tested for COVID-19—representing 10.6% of the state’s population.
 
Statewide Positivity Rate Is 4.45%. The state’s seven-day average positivity rate is 4.45%, and the daily positivity rate is 3.67%, the second-lowest daily rate the state has reported. The positivity rate is below 7% in every jurisdiction, with the exception of Queen Anne’s County, which has experienced a 259% increase in its positivity rate since June 30 and has the state’s highest positivity rate at 8.49%
 
Total Current Hospitalizations Are 392. There are 392 current total COVID-19 hospitalizations, with 114 ICU beds in use.
 
15 of 24 Jurisdictions Have Met 10% Testing Goal. Howard, Caroline, and Worcester have now met the state’s goal of testing 10% of their populations, bringing the total to 15 out of 24 jurisdictions. 
 
Positivity Rate Higher For Marylanders Under 35. The positivity rate among Marylanders under 35 (6.46%) is 83.5% higher than the positivity rate for Marylanders age 35 and older (3.52%).
 
220+ COVID Testing Sites Statewide. To further increase convenience and accessibility at COVID-19 testing sites, the Maryland Department of Health and local partners are providing patients with the ability to schedule their own appointments online at more sites.   4. Northwest Woodsman: So what is the concern if there are fewer and fewer deaths that are actually attributable to the WuFlu? In my opinion, the controlled media are just trying to stretch out this fraudulent “pandemic “ as long as possible as it is a component of the efforts to stop President Trumps re-election.
