Eskimo Pies to drop 'derogatory' name over racial insensitivity

The maker of Eskimo Pies will change the 99-year-old brand name of the ice cream treat, the company said Friday — becoming the latest organization tooverhaul the marketing of a product with a racially tinged moniker in recent weeks.

The owner of the Eskimo Pie, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, said in a statement they had been considering renaming the chocolate-covered ice cream bar and popsicle for some time.

“We are committed to being a part of the solution on racial equality, and recognize the term is derogatory,” the company’s head of marketing said in a statement.

“This move is part of a larger review to ensure our company and brands reflect our people values,” the company added.

  3. The Eastern Shore is going to rename chickens because the name doesn't instill the BRAVE nature that these birds can exhibit and deserve.

Why not? The politically correct want to fire the black woman who's been cooking pancakes for nearly 100 years. Who will they replace her with? A white woman? The Lone Ranger's former sidekick Pancho? How about replacing her with Joe Biden? That's sure to killl the bottom line.

    2. Wasn't Pancho the Cisco Kid's sidekick? 9 am Saturday morning was The Lone Ranger, followed by Cisco Kid... showing my age, but that was early 1970's

  5. I'll step forward in response to their virtue signaling and to help them right this terrible and long standing cultural appropriation scheme. I'll help them generate negative revenue as punishment by not buying their renamed product. And to show my alignment with their ethical virtue signaling by avoiding all of their other brands that I'm aware of.

Onward in search of lower revenues and smarter managers!

  6. I'm done with Chic fil A now too... after pandering to the so called "woke" crowd (what a stupid phrase...woke crowd)...the CEO kneeling to clean a black persons shoe on a stage...then saying that ALL white people should clean a black persons shoes. I have never don't anything, other than obviously my mere existence offending them, to have to clean anybody's shoe!

  7. They were a boring Klondike bar on a stick anyway.
This is fun adding up all the companies who will never get one more penny from me. And the list goes on.
One thing I have learned through this pandemic is that I don’t need half the stuff I used to buy. I don’t need to go half of the places I frequented and spent money

  10. The Deplorable Little Hobbit: I will not be eating the Eskimo pie, or the Pancakes, or cream of wheat or Uncle Bens or Mrs Butterworth syrup or Land of Lakes butter or any other product that removes POC off of their food items. Its racist to remove them. Just like the fools in Salisbury renaming Broad St. If they really cared about POC they would have let them have a say and approached them in any decisions made but they did not. They use POC to keep them and help them get elected, If you think the likes of Jake Day and Michele Gregory and Julia Glanz care about you, I'm here to tell you, they don't, they used POC as pawns for their own wants. get Woke to them.

  11. Change whatever you insist on but the more you change, the more you protest and destroy property and history.........the more we don't like you! PERIOD!!! You are really making it worse NOT better. We know all aren't responsible for this craziness but........the ones that are, certainly are painting a permanent picture for all. Please understand that no matter what you say or do , you can't make people like you, you are just turning everyone against you even more. Think about it!

  12. 7:17 add Blazing Saddles to the list to. Its a shame. Those actors got paid well to make that movie at the time and now they want to edit it to remove the parts by the black actor. If he had a issue with doing the part he could have turned it down. That movie made him a lot of money. Forrest Gump to. Because Forrest was named after a Klan member that Forrest didn't even know who he was. Just because that was briefly mentioned in the movie. They want it removed or edited. Craziness. Tom Hanks didn't mind making a fortune off of that movie. They all did. including the guy that played Bubba. These Jackass Liberals need to shut up already. They are hurting blacks more then they are helping.

  13. 6:57PM - You are correct. It was the Cisco Kid. You probably know more about him than people know about the black women cook they are replacing.

    Oh Pancho!!!!

    You are missing the point.
    The movie was made byJews.
    They are not Caucasian.

The attack is against Caucasians, not Jews.
The elite Jews are on the side with the Blacks attacking the Caucasians.
