Will Visitors Flock To The Beach For Easter Weekend?

For what it's worth, I spoke to someone yesterday who said a bunch of people from the Annapolis area will be heading to the beach for Easter weekend.

  1. As long as they are using social distancing it’s not a problem. People are only going to put up with these nonsense restrictions for so long.

  2. So.. should there be barricades and checkpoints at the Rt50 and Rt90 bridges?

Signs on 50 and 90 that say "CLOSED -- GO BACK HOME."

Or will they just let them come?

  3. They need to be arrested.

  9. Their already here for the weekend, look at the crowds at the two supermarkets in OC today compared to earlier this week. Easily one third of the tags are PA and Jersey. Get over it folks, any other time you beg for their business. I’m here, I pay my taxes, and I’m telling my friends to come!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Really not much to do there.

  11. I certainly hope people are not stupid enough to do this, but who knows. Stay at home means just that and for the life of me I cannot understand what they don't get about that. YES, the sign out on Rt. 50 should be flashing with the notice: BEACHES CLOSED, GO BACK HOME.

  12. Set the National Guard up on the Rt50 & Rt 90 bridges, also on route 1 outside fenwick. If they can't get in they won't make this problem worse.

WTF are you talking about "as long as they are using social distancing it's not a problem?" You're an idiot if you think it's ok to violate the Town of Ocean City's mandate. No, it is a problem. Stay your a$$ across that bridge like you were told to do.

    AMEN!

  16. The Town of Ocean City, the State of Delaware and Worcester County has implemented Stay At Home orders so when the Hell is Bob Culver and Wicomico County going to do the same? When the Hell is RINO Larry Hogan going to do the same for the State of Maryland, all of Maryland.

That A$$hole will wait until the police resources are outnumbered and overpowered like he did during H20i! Liberal idiot is too stupid to think for himself and make decisions.

  18. I thought the beach was closed by local authorities
I assume they will patrol with guns

  19. Americans are begging for the government to protect them at any and all costs to personal liberty.
So I don't look for beach goers this weekend regardless of the weather.

  20. I own a property and pay taxes I’ll be going to my beach home despite what any of you think. Is the Town of OC refunding my property taxes for not letting me access my home? I can’t believe you people are like sheep, openly allowing violations of the 1/2/4/5/10 amendments. I hope they fine or arrest me as I’ll make a fortune suing in court when this is over.

  23. They'll come anyway... they'll get jacked up by OCPD if they go on boards or beach, and potentially expose law enforcement to the virus..

  25. %:57 this is not your permanent residence in OC. You will be violating a State Mandate / law for not "stay at Home" Governor's order. Shows how inconsiderate you are for others and how stupid you are along with the others. You have no case. Hope you get fined so heavy you will have to 3rd mortgage your property. You have to be one of those liberal socialist who thinks they can rule anybody for your selfish ways.

    1. You might want to read the constitution and the bill of rights a governor can’t just decide to take those from you with the state of emergency. Also calling me a liberal socialist shows your lack of intellect. Someone defending the constitution is not a liberal socialist. Also my properties have no mortgages.

PS: I’m here in OC now and had no issues getting in. Went for a run on the beach this morning.

  26. If Hogan and Mahan allows this that will prove they are not for the citizens of MD. Just more lies from Politians.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hogan said he is doing everything to protect MD citizens. Then he will allow this to take place? Hogan has allowed the Western Shore and the northern States to come to the Shore. MD has risen over 194% in the last week with all these influx non-residents. What is Hogan doing nothing just like a Democrat. Vacation / beach homes are not their permanent residence which means they have no right to them while the States have a "stay at home" orders. Proves a very low mentality of these idiots.

  31. 5:57pm, you are one of the problems why this damn virus will not go away. Stay wherever you are and quit spreading the mess.

  35. 8:25 is another fool that thinks the beach area could survive without out of town money.
Come Labor day anything past Easton is basically a homeless camp with half the population living off unemployment. Retirees are the basic economy.
Face it, the world is a different place now with yankees everywhere. Not just because of the virus either and you can't blame them.Snow, cold, and taxes up north or the warmer southland. Wouldn't you move south?

  36. It’s funny but I’ll bet 1/3 of the people posting on this story are the ones who are against the wall and want immigrants to have the same “rights” as US citizens. Now they want the bridge closed and for “foreigners “ to keep away. Where is your liberal “love everyone” idealism now? It doesn’t matter. They’ll start up again when this is over. But no one will hold them responsible for these statements or ideas they spew now. Hypocrites!

  37. :)

I just spoke to a friend who was grumbling about this exact situation. Guess what she is doing today? She is taking pictures of out of state car plates. She then transmits that to her office and then goes to the registered residences with an order to quarentine. I'm guessing she is nothaving fun today.

  38. Why do t you issue arm bands for the residents - that way you will know who is violating your laws. Hangs those without a arm band - just kidding 😂🐰

  42. 5.57 is the problem. Entitled a hole. If you are fortunate enough to have a beach house one would think you also would have enough common sense to stay put and not risk others. Stop looking for a dog fight by coming here and risking bringing stuff over.

  43. I just cheked out the beach cams and saw several people on the boardwalk with an OCPD suv cruised right on by - signs everywhere say the boardwalk and beaches are closed. Could the cop have at least said something to that effect? I'm sick of he come here's that just do whatever they please

    ReplyDelete
  44. 10:00 am. Good idea to check out boardwalk cams. I just did and only saw 4-5 folks walking at great distance from each other. Clearly OC is not flooded with out of towners. It’s really very sad seeing OC so empty on Easter Weekend.
