Hogan, Maryland Is Not Ready To Reopen

Stated until our numbers continue to drop for two weeks straight he's not lifting anything. He's optimistic if we continue to stay in things will turn around fairly soon. This is not good, not even recreational boating!

  1. Need to address it by county...eastern shore should have some restrictions eased and close the bridge to the western shore. Same with the rest of the country. We don’t chose to live on top of 8.6 million people in NYC so the entire country shouldn’t be handled the same as them. If soybeans caused this, and only direct contact with them caused infection, would NYC or even Baltimore lock down because the eastern shore had a problem?

  2. We should NOT open for another six months. Also EVERYONE MUST SNITCH.

    2. Another 6 months. There goes your Social Security (no one contributing due to lock down); no State Pensions (due to MD going bankrupt); no welfare (Gov ran out of money). Still want to stay home another 6 months. Hope you have a lot of savings.

  4. I buy what he's selling. I think he's got the right ideas. Best for health and business in the long-run. It would be catastrophic to open too soon and risk a second, even deadlier wave.

This is ESPECIALLY the case for Worcester County, too. Since its economy relies so heavily on tourism/leisure.

Think about it. Is it going to hurt that restaurants and hotels can't really start to open for another 4-6 weeks? Absolutely. But would it be even WORSE if a resort area opened too soon and gained national news for being a center of a new outbreak? I believe so.

    1. No one wants to be responsible for a potential mass covic 19 event in ocean city. It would be both dangerous and irresponsible to open ocean city when the area numbers have been going up. I am self employed here in Worcester, and would love to get back to work but potentially exposing myself, and accidentally or unknowingly exposing my family is not worth any money I can make. I personally do not see ocean city reopening anytime before July 15. That is just my opinion, and it’s based on nothing more than a very uneducated guess.

  10. So, in NYC, which has seen about 1/4th of the virus deaths in the country, was so NOT overwhelmed that the extra hospital beds brought in to help where essentially not used. But Maryland needs to stay locked down! What sense does that make? We have local hospitals taking virus patients from other areas but we remain locked down so our health system won’t be overrun?

  20. Hogan is just spreading his BS. If he is not why is there so many out of state people in MD / OC. His order was "stay at home" just like the State they came from. They are violating the order / law twice and they are getting away with it. They are coming from their highly infected areas and bring it to the Eastern Shore. This also includes those from Western MD / across the bridge. They are not staying at home in their permanent residence Hogan is not enforcing his own order. they believe they are above the law. they are probably the College grads that cannot understand plain English. Hogan and these BS Politians are getting paid. They don't care. Take away their paychecks and benefits.

Did you notice how he goes against Trump every time in bashful ways? Not even Cuomo of NY goes as far as Hogan, and he is a Democrat! What's going on, Larry? If you want to continue "your shutdown" then close the Bay Bridge and leave the Eastern Shore alone. We can do just fine without "your Mandatory Bureocracy". And when those folks around Baltimore & D.C. start having food shortages, which will happen, you will be calling the "Shore-billies" to bring in a lots of chicken. Just wait and see! Easy for ones to say when they still have their income coming in and not about to lose what they have worked hard for years for. If you want to stay home, fine, everyone else needs to get back to work to save their 9 lives!

  32. You'll see in a week or two, the real reason to prolong the lock down. You will see a group of governors start screaming bankruptcy for their state. Even though they were previously spending like drunkin democrats long before this hyped virus. Those gov's that mismanaged their states funds {remember all that spending hogan was doing as he's soon departing}, will basically hold the economy for ransom. They will insist Trump bail them out {our tax money} They will also force steep tax hikes on us all, so they can recover from their own malfeasance.
They state they care about small businesses, but not like its their own livelihood {its not their blood sweat and tears}. They only care enough to play the hand their about to reveal. Dont think for one moment they care about your wellfare, your quality of life or even your health, if they did...they wouldnt tax you into poverty.

The Democrats have their hand up both of their asses and the electorate has to realize that as well as I. If there is a function coming on Delmarva please DON'T invite that moron and his entourage of mixed nuts and liberals. We may have to put up with this disease but not a group of nuts from Annapolis.

The damn fool can't seem to stop listening to Andrew Cuomo and he's more of a death monger than the Devil himself.

The Eastern Shore is the garden spot of the World and what we get over here is Hell on Hell all the time due to nothing but rank ignorance on the other side of the damn bridge that brings them here. It'd be fine with me if he quarantines all those Western Counties for ever. It would also be nice if him and the other morons were never acknowledged again as long as I live by the News media.

It may be getting closer with each passing day, particularly with the continuation of the autocratic behavior being demonstrated by Hogan and his peers.
