Going to the grocery store and other public places where social distancing is difficult will require a mask starting next week in Delaware.
Governor John Carney made his thirteenth modification to his State of Emergency, Saturday, April 25, 2020. It requires all Delawareans, ages 13 and older, to wear face coverings in public settings, including grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience stores, doctor's offices, and on public transit, beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Delawareans 12 and younger are not required to wear a face covering. Any child 2-years-old younger should not wear a face covering because public health officials said they risk suffocation.
Neighboring states like Pennsylvania and Maryland have already taken this step.
