  1. Geez, a 13' high-rise. Da'bury is starting to look like Baltimore more every day, day.

  4. Wow, that's not a renovation. It's 99.999% demolition and .001% added to a totally new structure.

  11. Jake's Sh**show, he's such a pathetic loser.

I have more respect for Ireton, at least he was out with his gayness.

Jake's 3 size too small jeans, sh**eating grin, and hanging with his drunk bros is still in the closet, and now his beard has embarrassed him and ruined his chances at Lt. Gov.

  13. Who TF is approving these stupid plans for downtown Salisbury? What happened to Salisbury's history and charm?

I thought Salisbury was listed as a Historical town and any plans on renovations had to be approved?

That's what TF you get when you vote for and support stupid as Libtards and RINO's. Jake Day, Jack Heath and Manure Bota!

  14. This is where Bob Culver's leadership as the County Executive should have stepped in to save historical downtown Salisbury for Salisbury and Wicomico County. But no, he spent thousands of dollars(our tax dollars) and took Jake Day to court just to give him half of the Government Office Building. Now he is giving Jake Day our Wicomico County Airport and forcing the Citizens in that area, the east side of the county, to be annexed into the armpit of Wicomico County. He has joined forces and jumped in bed with John Cannon, Bill McCain, Bill Chambers, Mike Dunn, et. al. It's time for Bob Culver to step down!

  15. look at all the nice desks and stuff in chamber building they should have donated or sold!!! NEVER ever will i join them again. WHY DIDN'T THEY DONATE it or sell? That is a bigger story... WASTE!

  16. Why in the heck do we need a 13 story building downtown?? There are plenty of places around for students. Maybe some of the focus should be turned away from college students and we should remember some of the older folks who do not do stairs or perhaps they are disabled and need one level apartments. I hate that downtown has been destroyed but apparently you know best....NOT !!!!

  18. Mr Albero, Thanks so much for your time and effort reporting whats going on around here.If it were not for your site people would not be informed and know the truth. After of well over a decade of looking at your blog and seeing what Salisbury and Wicomico County has become it has come time for me to retire and exit the shore for Sussex County.Salisbury lost big time when you and Wayne King were passed over for this spoiled lil rich kid they call mayor. Him and the liberal trio of Dunn,Chambers, and Ryan of S.W.E.D.which stands for SALISBURY WICOMICO ECONOMIC DEPRESSION have ruined the city never to return to the good days say to speak.
I want to thank you and your staff again for your hard work and dedication.

  25. Hi All,
The building developers got the OK from the council and Day. The ordinance had to be changed to allow a building over 5 stories. When PRMC was built up, they had to get an exception for its 5 stories. Anyway, this is just stupid. Salisbury does not have the jobs for people to afford the rent, and the college kids will not fill that building up. The building will be section 8 before long; just like the apartment complexes are becoming. The apartment complexes get run down and no one will pay the rent they want, so they allow section 8 people to move in. It makes sense for them. The government always pays the rent. I said this, and I will say it again. The only way that building makes sense is to turn the building into an office building, but then again, we would need to draw businesses here, and why would a business want to move here with the crappy schools and crime? Jake has no knowledge of business and how the economy works, so he can't draw anyone here. Just like the virus. It's not the virus killing people, it is the underlying health issues that are killing people. If you are under 70 and healthy don't worry about it. This city has underlying issues. I just stated them. Fix those problems and then, maybe, we will talk 13 story buildings. Dumping millions of dollars into a downtown where practically no one lives is ridiculous, especially when the rest of Salisbury's infrastructure is crumbling. Regardless, even if all of Salisbury was fixed up, people will still balk on moving here. Our livability rating is 12%, meaning that 88% of all other small cities like us are a much nicer place to live. The people running this place are doing it ass backwards. This building will just be a cherry on a pile of S***!

Stay safe all and take care

    Wayne

  27. You know what people you got exactly what you wanted and deserved. Greater shopping and dining variety and all the eyesore sprawl that comes with it. Your still praying for a Cracker Barrel. You abandoned downtown and to now have nostalgic and historic notions about it is too little too late. Embrace the new charm you wanted. It's already looking as dumpy as Glen Burnie and only to get worse. Yes I too have fond memories of old downtown but OK it's time to move on it will never be the same and we will soon be dead.

  33. After all that money was spent in the last decade restoring these Historical buildings they are now being torn down because Jake Day ran out of legos and building blocks. The most wasteful mayor we have ever had and he still hasn't faced we will never be another Inner Harbor when was the last time him and the City Council looked into the Wicomico River in that area and saw the waste and dead bodies of birds, rodents and dead fish floating by--and don't look too close you might see another human body. Those of us living across from it call it "Sludge River".

  34. I want to know how much this building or any other renovated building pays or will pay in city.county tax or will be all be given in tax breaks to the owners? The tax on that should be a nice chunk of change for the city and the county. Will it?

The great architecture was before the fire of 1886 but the problem there was the idiots that ran this city thought it was Ok to put the buildings so close together and on top of each other. That is why the Hell the city burnt down. Looks like the idiots in Gettobury haven't learned anything in the last 50 years. Keep voting for those Liberal Democrats you dumb morons!

  38. Wayne King wasn't the best choice but when you have the majority of the Wicomico County Republican Central Committee supporting and endorsing a liberal, Socialist Democrat then we don't have a chance in Hell.

Each and every one of those Republican Central Committee members that supported Jake Day needs to be reported to the Maryland GOP. That includes Larry Hogan, Mary Beth Carozza, Carl Anderton, Jamie Dykes and John Cannon.
