Local lawmakers pass bill to increase the legal amount of marijuana possession

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A bill was passed in the Maryland House of Delegates that will increase the threshold of what is considered a civil penalty of marijuana possession.

According to HB 550, marijuana possession and possession with intent to distribute will increase the legal amount of marijuana possession from 10 grams to 1 ounce.

The aim is to ensure that a person may not be charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance based solely on the possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

  1. Got scales, too? You're busted for distribution. So how do you know the weight and keep it under an ounce? And is an ounce 28.35 grams or 30 grams?

  7. 6:02...you better wake up now.

There are lots of people a lot smarter than you and with a lot more money, too, who smoke pot right here in Salisbury.
Attorneys, architects, teachers and professors, business owners, bankers, executives.
They spend more in a month than you earn in a year.

Quit telling everyone how YOU want them to live.

    1. It's my opinion, which many non pit smokers believe..and anywhere in my brief comment did I tell ANYONE how to live their life? Nor do you have any idea of my life, income etc. So while you bask in your cannibus haze, which you have the right to do if you choose, I also have the right to post my comments stating my opinion.
