Press Release - Depression: It's Okay to Say You're Not Okay

Depression: It’s Okay to Say You’re Not Okay.

(November 25, 2019 Salisbury, MD)  Depression is a complex illness that affects more than mental and emotional health - it can affect every other aspect of one’s physical, social and professional life. Affecting over 17.3 million Americans, depression can impact anyone and although its symptoms are easily recognizable, many sufferers intentionally hide their symptoms. The holidays also bring additional activities and stresses that can amplify feelings of depression.

Recognize the Signs
Depression is different for each person. Symptoms generally include:
·         Trouble concentrating, remembering details and making decisions
·         Fatigue
·         Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness
·         Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or sleeping too much
·         Irritability
·         Restlessness
·         Loss of interest in things that you used to enjoy
·         Overeating or appetite loss
·         Aches, pains, headaches, or cramps that won’t go away
·         Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings
·         Suicidal thoughts or attempts

Getting Help
Most of us feel sad, lonely or depressed at times, but when these feelings become overwhelming, last for long periods of time, or cause physical symptoms it may be time to get help. Depression can be treated and there’s no shame in seeking help.
·         Make an appointment with your doctor or a mental health professional.
·         If you’re reluctant to seek treatment, talk to a friend or loved one, any healthcare professional, a faith leader, or someone else you trust.

Getting Emergency Help
·         If you think you may hurt yourself or attempt suicide, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
o   Other Help Hotlines include:
§  National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
§  Crisis Text Line – Text HELLO to 741741
§  Veteran’s Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255, press 1
§  Life Crisis Center 410-749-4357

·         If you have a loved one who is in danger of suicide or has made a suicide attempt, make sure someone stays with that person until help arrives.
o    Call 911 or the local emergency number immediately.
o   Listen, but don’t judge, argue, threaten, or yell
o   If you can do so safely, take the person to the nearest emergency room.

Devin Nunes To Take Swift Legal Action Against CNN For ‘Demonstrably False’ Story

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced Friday night that he is filing a lawsuit against CNN over a report that they published the same evening that alleged an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani was willing to testify to Congress that Nunes met with a former Ukrainian prosecutor last year to discuss digging up dirt on former Vice President and current Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“The attorney, Joseph A. Bondy, represents Lev Parnas, the recently indicted Soviet-born American who worked with Giuliani to push claims of Democratic corruption in Ukraine,” CNN reported. “Bondy said that Parnas was told directly by the former Ukrainian official that he met last year in Vienna with Rep. Devin Nunes.”

“Mr. Parnas learned from former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin that Nunes had met with Shokin in Vienna last December,” Bondy told CNN. “Nunes had told Shokin of the urgent need to launch investigations into Burisma, Joe and Hunter Biden, and any purported Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election.”

Atheist Group Calls Kanye West Prison Worship Service ‘Egregious’ Violation of Constitution

An atheist group has gone on the attack against rapper Kanye West for performing his Sunday Service at a Texas prison claiming that the event was an “egregious” violation of the U.S. Constitution.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) blasted Texas Sheriff Ed Gonzalez for allowing the “Jesus Walks” rapper to appear at the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas, on November 17 in a four-page letter.

Kanye West performed his weekly Sunday Service before more than 500 inmates, both male and female, in two different services at the county jail facilities. The performance was given high praise by Texas Governor Greg Abbott who tweeted out his compliments saying, “If he moves just one person closer to God the world will be a more peaceful place.”

In its letter, the atheist group demanded that the county cease any other efforts to “organize or promote worship services in the future.”

Virginia Church Turns Neglected House into Home for Women Veterans

Members of a Baptist church in Hampton, Virginia, unveiled a remodeled home for women veterans on Saturday after spending three years renovating the formerly neglected space.

The West End Baptist Church in Hampton saved $25,000 to go towards renovations to transform the space into what is now the Victory House, a transitional space for women veterans, 13News Now reported.

“We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for your love and your giving, cause it was your giving that made this happen,” said Pastor Paul Thomas during the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday.

The Victory House will not only provide women recently transitioning out of the military into civilian life an affordable place to live, it will also provide them with job training and access to medical care with the Hampton VA Medical Center three miles away.

The women will only have to pay $500 a month to access the home and its services. WAVY reported that the house hopes to start accepting residents on December 1.

UC Berkeley Chancellor Promoted Protest Against Ann Coulter

UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ sent out an email this week in which she encouraged students to protest before Wednesday night’s campus event featuring Ann Coulter.

According to a report by Campus Reform, UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ sent an email to students in which she encouraged students to attend a protest event that was scheduled to take place prior to Ann Coulter’s Wednesday night lecture.

“Hatred is antithetical to belonging, to respect, to understanding, and to learning itself. We must defend our commitment to diversity and inclusion by remaining united in our condemnation of abhorrent ideologies that promote hatred on the basis of an individual’s origins or identity,” the email read.

Anonymous Donor Gives 72 Acres of Land to Facility that Helps Disabled

An anonymous donor in Savannah, Georgia, who felt very generous this holiday season gave 72 acres of land to a horseback riding facility that works with the disabled.

The group, Horsin’ Around, received the 72 acres from a Savannah businessman who preferred to stay unnamed, WJCL reported.

“We were looking, but not much out there we could afford. A realtor friend of mine put us in touch with a man who owns this property, and he had a heart for disabilities and offered us this land free and clear,” said Jill Stanberry, owner of Horsin’ Around.

The organization — which has been around since the year 2000 — says it uses horseback riding to work with people who have physical and mental disabilities to help their setbacks that cannot be treated in a clinical setting, according to its website.

“We’re talking about individuals who may not be able to walk or may not be able to walk normally, and we’re putting them on a horse that provides the movement of walking,” said Erin Dunn, certified therapy riding instructor for the group.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Eastern Shoreman?
Here is a little test that will help you decide..
The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a terrorist with a huge knife

Hong Kong elections seen as win for pro-democracy candidates after massive turnout

Anti-government protestors prevailed on Sunday after polls closed in Hong Kong and pro-democracy candidates clinched nearly half of the seats on the ballot.

So far, pro-democracy candidates have won 269 out of 452 seats in 18 district council races, while pro-Beijing forces, who previously held 73 percent of the seats, have only won 30. Voters came out in droves -- with a 71 percent turnout -- up from 47 percent four years ago in the same elections, according to the Electoral Affairs Commission.

"This is political annihilation for Beijing and it's going to have consequences that are going to reverberate not just in Hong Kong itself, but perhaps in China as well," Asia analyst and foreign affairs journalist Gordon Chang said on Fox News' "America's News HQ" Sunday.

It sounded like a good idea...........

Had to share........ It is a little long but we'll worth the time. 😁😁😁💜💜
(A letter from someone who wants to remain anonymous, who farms, writes well and actually tried this)

I had this idea that I could rope a deer, put it in a stall, feed it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it. The first step in this adventure was getting a deer. I figured that, since they congregate at my cattle feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff at the bags of feed while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away), it should not be difficult to rope one, get up to it and toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) then hog tie it and transport it home.

I filled the cattle feeder then hid down at the end with my rope. The cattle, having seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They were not having any of it. After about 20 minutes, my deer showed up-- 3 of them. I picked out a likely looking one, stepped out from the end of the feeder, and threw my rope. The deer just stood there and stared at me. I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold.

The deer still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation. I took a step towards it, it took a step away. I put a little tension on the rope, and then received an education. The first thing that I learned is that, while a deer may just stand there looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you start pulling on that rope.

Democrat Cindy Axne: ‘I Didn’t Run’ to ‘Impeach the President’

Freshman swing-district Democrat Rep. Cindy Axne (D-IA) said Saturday that she “did not run” to “impeach” President Donald Trump despite her backing of the impeachment inquiry.

One Iowa constituent asked whether Rep. Axne had voted for impeachment in a recent vote to formalize the rules and procedures surrounding the impeachment inquiry. Rep. Axne was one of 230 Democrats that voted for that resolution that would advance the impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Rep. Axne said, “No, no.”

Another constituent asked the Democrat representative whether she backs the impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Rep. Axne replied, “What I’m for is doing the hard work for the people of this district. I didn’t run for this seat to impeach the president. Go back and check my 18 months of running for this office; there is nothing in there about that.”

More Polio Cases Now Caused by Vaccine Than by Wild Virus

Four African countries have reported new cases of polio linked to the oral vaccine, as global health numbers show there are now more children being paralyzed by viruses originating in vaccines than in the wild.

In a report late last week, the World Health Organization and partners noted nine new polio cases caused by the vaccine in Nigeria, Congo, Central African Republic and Angola. Seven countries elsewhere in Africa have similar outbreaks.

Sidney Powell: FBI, DOJ Hid Info That Proves Flynn's Innocence

Former National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn’s attorney said on Sunday that “the FBI and the Department of Justice have hidden information that shows [Flynn's] innocence for more than three years.”

Speaking on “The Cats Roundtable” in New York, Sidney Powell said the DOJ "has a memo in its files that exonerates him completely of any wrongful collaboration, or anything with the Russians. And that was dated January 30, 2017 before General Flynn was forced out of the White House by all this nonsense.”

Powell emphasized that former FBI acting Chief Andrew McCabe “should be held accountable for his outrageous conduct and the ambush of Gen. Flynn.”

She insisted that McCabe “should be indicted for at least a couple of felonies… because he lied to the inspector general multiple times under oath with warning.”

Polls Show 34 Percent of Black Likely Voters Approve of Donald Trump

A pair of recent polls show that 34 percent of black likely voters approve of President Donald Trump’s presidency, a stunning development that could have a massive impact on his re-election campaign in 2020.

A Rasmussen poll released Friday showed black likely voter approval of Trump at 34 percent. An Emerson Poll showed 34.5 percent approval by the same demographic.

“Boom,” wrote black author and Trump supporter Deneen Borelli on Twitter, calling the results “Democrats worst nightmare.”

Rasmussen defended their numbers, noting their polling of likely voters was much more expensive but more reflective of election day results.

Stefanik: The left is 'spun up' after her impeachment hearing performance

In an interview with radio talk show host John Catsimatidis, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) said that Democrats are "spun up" after her performance during the public impeachment hearings.

"I was focused on the facts and the substance in my questions of witnesses as part of these impeachment hearings," the House Intelligence Committee member told Catsimatidis.

"But obviously the left and Hollywood liberals got spun up," she added. "They have been pouring millions to support my far-left opponent all because I spoke on behalf of my constituents and I asked very strong questions."

Stefanik, 35, was referring to Tedra Cobb, who is challenging Stefanik for New York's 21st District seat. Last weekend, Cobb's campaign reported that it received more than $1 million in donations after the first set of impeachment hearings.

Democrat's defection underscores Pennsylvania's political realignment

HARRISBURG, Pa. — As Pennsylvania state senators filed through the tight, wood-paneled corridor that leads out of the Senate chamber this week, John Yudichak turned into an equally tight staircase that no Democrat ever takes: down to the Senate Republican majority caucus room.

Yudichak will take those stairs a lot now that he has left the Democratic Party after two decades in the Legislature to become a registered independent who is joining the Senate’s Republican majority caucus.

And while Yudichak described his defection as an effort to empower the political middle, it reverberated swiftly in the Capitol and through the state’s politics as something else.

To many, it dealt a blow to Democratic hopes of capturing the chamber’s majority in next year’s election for the first time in nearly three decades.

‘Absolutely indefensible’: Bloomberg News slammed for scaling back coverage following owner's 2020 bid

The announcement that Bloomberg News would refrain from investigating any of the 2020 Democrats after Michael Bloomberg announced his presidential bid was not well received.

Bloomberg launched his 2020 presidential bid Sunday morning. His announcement was followed by a statement from Bloomberg News Editor-In-Chief John Micklethwait about how the outlet would cover the election, given that Bloomberg owns the company.

Micklethwait revealed that Bloomberg had a heavy hand in guiding the editorials for Bloomberg News and that several of the editorial board members would be taking a leave to join their boss’s campaign. The newsroom was also hit by Bloomberg’s announcement.

MD Sanctuary Counties to Free Accused Illegal Alien Child Rapists, Murderers, Child Abusers

The sanctuary counties of Prince George County, Maryland, and Montgomery County, Maryland, may soon release six illegal aliens who are accused of a number of violent crimes against children and American citizens, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

Jaycob Kidlat, an illegal alien, has been charged with five counts of sexual abuse of a minor, rape of a child under the age of 14-years-old, and third-degree sexual offense. ICE placed a detainer on him in June and it is unclear when he will be released, and if he will be freed rather than turned over to federal agents.

Likewise, illegal alien Alpha Ibrahimbah Mansaray has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless driving, as well as a series of drug crime charges. Mansaray was arrested in September and ICE has a detainer on him.

Study: ‘Family Structure’ a Major Factor in Racial Disparities in School Conduct

A new study affirms what many public policy analysts say is intuitive — that unstable family structure, including chaotic households and single-parent homes, is a primary factor in racial disparities in school behavior and suspensions.

The study, conducted by senior fellows Nicholas Zill and W. Bradford Wilcox at the Institute for Family Studies, asserts education policymakers “must recognize that social and psychological problems in youth may manifest themselves at school but have their origins in family situations over which the school has little or no control.”

Among black students who do live with both married birth parents, suspension rates are less than half as large as those for black students living in other family types: 12% versus 28%. The suspension rate for black students living in intact families, 12%, is also less than the suspension rate for white students from non-intact families, 13%.

Uh Oh: Lefty Media Realizing Impeachment May Be Bad for Democrats

Democrats were on cloud nine when the closed-door impeachment inquiry began. Back then, Rep. Adam Schiff was lying to the American people about what the president said on his July 25 phone call to the president of Ukraine. House Democrats selectively called witnesses, selectively leaked testimony, and continued to fool independent voters into thinking the Democrats were actually hysterical for a good reason.

The Soviet show trial really wasn't a good look for the Democrats, so the House voted on a bill that gave the process the false appearance of fairness while keeping the Democrats in full control of the narrative and substance of the impeachment inquiry. Two Democrats joined every Republican in voting against the bill, but Speaker Pelosi managed to ram it through.

But what little sunlight the Democrats allowed into the process was enough to start turning the American people away. Despite calling their best witnesses forward – most of whom, like the whistleblower, didn't actually hear Trump's July 25 phone call – support for impeaching the president fell as soon as the public hearings began. A recent poll finds support for impeachment has fallen five percent since October, and Trump's approval rating has shot up five percent during the same period. It seems the more Americans learn about Trump's handling of foreign aid to Ukraine, the more Americans approve of the president's job performance and want Trump to remain in office.

Chick-Fil-A Orders Values to Go

If the last 24 hours have proven anything about Chick-fil-A, it’s this: It was never about the chicken.

For millions of Americans, there was a much deeper significance behind every decision to pull in the parking lot and walk through those doors. It wasn’t about the menu. It wasn’t even about the service. It was that every time someone ate there, they were making a cultural statement. Chick-fil-A was a business, yes. But it was also a giant rebuttal of everything the bullies stood for. Until it wasn’t.

Maybe that’s why people are in such denial. They don’t want to believe that the place where they felt at home, the place they’d put on a pedestal and invested so much personal capital, betrayed them.

Deep down, I think we all want to explain away Chick-fil-A’s decision. It’s a lot easier than the alternative, which is accepting and grieving the fact that this company—a brave holdout for so many years—is running away from the people and principles that made them who they are.

Pushing that under the rug may feel better in the short-term, but it’s not an option for anyone who understands the long-term implications of waving a white flag on God’s truth. For us, this isn’t a gray area. The decision to desert these groups is a radical departure from biblical teaching.

Now, some of you might argue that walking away from the Salvation Army or Fellowship of Christian Athletes isn’t an endorsement of an LGBT agenda. But it is exactly that. And here’s why. Chick-fil-A didn’t just switch its giving practices, it broadcasted it.

Pentagon chief fires Navy secretary over secret deal for SEAL Eddie Gallagher

Defense Secretary Mark Esper dismissed Navy Secretary Richard Spencer for talking to the White House about a deal in which Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher retired with his full rank and without losing his cherished Trident pin.

Esper requested Spencer's resignation on Sunday after learning that the Navy secretary had privately proposed to White House officials that he would ensure that Gallagher, who was accused of war crimes, was able to retire as a Navy SEAL with his Trident insignia if they did not interfere with proceedings against him.

Spencer, 65, a former U.S. Marine Corps aviator, did not share the details of the proposal with Esper, who found out on Friday after he spoke with President Trump, and his private offer contradicted his public position on Gallagher's case. In a statement from chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman, Esper said he was "deeply troubled by this conduct" from Spencer.

20 Years After “To Err is Human”, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades Prove Transparency Can Save Lives

The Leapfrog Group’s fall 2019 Hospital Safety Grades, announced today, highlight progress in bringing patient safety into the sunlight and demonstrate improvement from a problem first made prominent in a landmark report released 20 years ago.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a bi-annual grading assigning “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” and “F” letter grades to general acute-care hospitals in the U.S. It is the nation’s only rating focused entirely on patient safety—preventable errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

The release of updated Safety Grades this fall coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM)[i] groundbreaking report, To Err Is Human, which revealed nearly 100,000 lives are lost every year due to preventable medical errors. Subsequent research suggests the number may be twice as high.

More Virginia Counties Declare ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary’ Status

More Virginia counties declared “Second Amendment Sanctuary” status this week in an effort to get ahead of the gun control promises from Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and newly-elected Democrats.

On November 19, 2019, Breitbart News reported that Appomattox County Board of Commissioners passed a “Second Amendment Sanctuary” resolution, with the goal of opposing any efforts that would “unconstitutionally restrict gun rights.”

WHSV 3 reports that Giles County and Dinwiddle both adopted “Second Amendment Sanctuary” resolutions on November 21, 2019.

Dinwiddle Supervisor William Chavis said, “We have rights to bear arms. Point blank. And our county, we have a lot of hunters, lots of sportsmen that like to sport shoot.”

Chick-fil-A Put an Obama/Hillary Supporter in Charge, but Dumped Christians

Chick-fil-A’s announcement that it was dumping the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which have come under attack by gay activist groups, caught Christian fans of the fast food chain by surprise. It shouldn’t have if they had been paying attention to CFA’s corporate structure.

The donations were coming out of the Chick-fil-A Foundation. The Executive Director of the CFA Foundation is Rodney D. Bullard, a former White House fellow and Assistant US Attorney. Some may have mistaken him for a conservative because he was a fellow in the Bush Administration, but he was an Obama donor, and, more recently, had donated to Hillary Clinton’s campaign while at Chick-fil-A.

Like many corporations, Chick-fil-A branded its charitable giving as a form of social responsibility. Bullard became its Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility. Unlike charity, corporate social responsibility is a leftist endeavor to transform corporations into the political arms of radical causes. Like other formerly conservative corporations, Chick-fil-A had made the fundamental error of adopting the language and the infrastructure of its leftist peers. And that made what happened entirely inevitable.

In an interview with Business Insider earlier this year, Bullard emphasized that the Chick-fil-A Foundation had a "higher calling than any political or cultural war." The foundation boss was preparing the way for the shakeup that was coming in the fall. Even while he claimed that the CFA Foundation had a higher calling than a political or cultural war, he was preparing to accommodate the Left’s cultural war.

Boy thrown from Mall of America balcony is 'walking perfectly,' family says

Hello Landen's support team,

Landen's Family wants you all to know how well Landen is doing since coming home in August.

He came home with a limp and uneven legs from a two-time broken femur, an open wound on his belly we were taking care of every night, and many follow up appointments and medications. Since then he has had many physical therapies to work on his walking. Mom has been doing everything she can to speed up the healing of his wound and working toward getting off some of his medications. He is now walking PERFECTLY with even legs AMEN. The wound has finally scabbed over and new skin is growing, and we are still optimistic he will be off some of his medications soon.

He loves being back to school and going to kindergarten at the same school his twin brother and sister go to. He gets out of the car every morning happy and blows kisses all the way in! He's a strong, happy boy. When his mommy asks him if she can look at his wound or asks how he's doing, he always responds with "Mom, I’m healed, you don't need to ask me anymore." Landen loves life and Jesus! He tells people all the time when they get hurt, don’t worry, I fell off a cliff, but Angels caught me and Jesus loves me, so I’m ok and you will be too!

He has good memories of all the people who loved him and cared for him in the hospital, so to him follow-up appointments are fun! We have many coming up in December, so please keep praying. Landen knows people all over the world are praying for him and he loves all the cards he keeps getting in the mail. His whole family feels the love and are so grateful for the prayers and people like you who care so much about others! There was one bad person, but from that came millions of Good people!

Thank you so much for praying us home and please continue to pray for complete recovery as we are still healing!
We love you!
