Feds Charge 90, Nab Dozens Of Guns And $1 Million In Baltimore Drug Raids

Federal authorities have charged 90 people, nabbed 51 guns and seized $1 million as well as huge amounts of illegal drugs as a result of drug raids in Baltimore.

Baltimore’s U.S. District Attorney announced the news of the July operations early Saturday morning. The raids were the result of law enforcement cooperation between federal, state and municipal authorities, Fox News reported.

Along with the guns and cash, police found large supplies of illegal drugs like fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

“Reducing violent crime in Baltimore is job one. It’s what we in law enforcement think about morning, noon, and night,” U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur said in a statement, according to Fox News. “We will continue to do everything we can to prosecute the violent criminals who wreak havoc in and terrorize Baltimore’s neighborhoods”

Sometimes Helping People Is The Worst Thing You Can Do

At the charming Hudson train station in New York, volunteers sell small cups of coffee for $1. The idea is to raise money for the children’s charity in town. They only accept cash. Not everyone carries cash.
“Do you ever just let people have coffee on the promise that they will pay you later?” I ask.

“Yes, and most do, but some people do not,” says the cashier.

“We figure out who is who. When someone is taking advantage of our generosity, we say, ‘You may not have a cup of coffee. Next time bring cash.’ They figure it out and bring cash in the future.”

I left the conversation there, but what you have here speaks to a universal truth: helping people is not always an unmitigated good thing. Often help is great but just as often it’s not. Sometimes you have to withdraw that help in order to inspire people to do the right thing. Incentives matter. Set them up incorrectly, and your attempts to help people can actually hurt them — and you! — in the long run.

Supreme Court May Hear Case That Could Leave The 2A In Disarray

North Carolina-based Remington Arms has asked the Supreme Court to decide, once and for all, if gun manufacturers should be held responsible for crimes committed with their product. Remington has been in a drawn out legal battle with a survivor and families of the Sandy Hook shooting that took place in Sandy Hook, Connecticut in 2012. The gunman used a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, commonly referred to as an AR-15, to carry out his attack that left 26 dead, including 20 children and seven adults. One of the victims was his mother.

The request comes after the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Remington, Busmaster's parent company, could be sued on state law because of how the rifle was marketed to the public, the Associated Press reported. A lower court judge had originally threw the case out, saying Remington was protected under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when a person commits a crime with one of their products.

"The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was passed with bipartisan support in order rightfully assign responsibility and accountability to those who commit crimes," the National Shooting Sports Foundation's Director of Public Affairs, Mark Oliva, told Townhall. "Those seeking to hold manufacturers responsible for the crimes of individuals who purposefully and criminally misuse firearms are wrongfully assigning blame. This would be no different than holding Ford responsible for this who commit heinous crimes with their vehicles.'

Two planes intercepted over Trump golf course in New Jersey

Two single-engine airplanes were intercepted by F-16 fighter jets in separate instances on Friday evening as they entered temporarily restricted airspace over President Trump's Bedminster, New Jersey, golf resort.

The president was vacationing at the resort at the time that the planes ceased communicating with air traffic control and flew into the no-fly zone.

The unrelated incidents occurred first at 7:30 p.m., then at 8 p.m. on Friday, triggering a response from the North American Aerospace Defense Command. NORAD dispatched F-16 fighter jets to intercept the small aircraft. Both planes reestablished communication with air traffic control shortly thereafter with no further incident.

Tucker Carlson Points Out The Absurdity Of Privileged Cory Booker’s “Communities Like Mine” Comment

On Thursday’s show Tucker Carlson blasted the absurdity of Senator Cory Booker barking at Joe Biden for destroying “communities like mine.”

As Tucker pointed out — Cory Booker grew up in upscale Harrington, New Jersey.
Tucker Carlson: Cory Booker meanwhile is in the process of transitioning to a brand-new identity, he spent most of the evening trying to sound like a Nation of Islam recruiter rather than the deeply privileged son of two IBM executives which is what he is… (laughing) That’s Booker barking at the former Vice President. The best is “communities like mine were destroyed by you, Joe Biden.” Cory Booker grew up in Harrington Park, New Jersey. The black population of Harrington Park? 0.6% less than 1%. The poverty rate for families in Harrington Park is literally zero! Not a single family in Harrington Park is poor. Not one! That’s where Cory Booker grew up. So the only way that Joe Biden’s crime policies destroyed Cory Booker’s home town is to allow its citizens to move out to gentrified Brooklyn. Cory Booker is by far the most privileged candidate running for president in either party this year.

Trump Rips Corrupt Democrat-Run Cities: Baltimore, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago

President Donald Trump continued his condemnation of inner cities in the United States run by Democrats on Thursday.

Speaking at a political rally in Cincinnati, Ohio, Trump said that the country’s inner cities have been devastated for decades.

“Look at them,” he said. “We could name one after anothe, but I won’t do that. Because I don’t want to be controversial. We want no controversy.”

But the president did end up singling out four cities — Chicago, Baltimore, Los Angles, and San Francisco.

Soros Pours $5.1 Million Into New 2020 PAC

Liberal billionaire George Soros poured $5.1 million into a new political action committee that was quietly established earlier this year for the 2020 election cycle, filings show.

In early January, a statement of organization was filed to the Federal Election Commission to establish the Democracy PAC. The filing for the PAC listed Michael Vachon, Soros's spokesperson, as the PAC's treasurer.

Now, new semi-annual filings reveal that the financier pushed $100,000 into the Democracy PAC on Feb. 13 and $5,000,000 more into the committee on June 2. Soros is the only donor to the PAC as of June 30. During the first half of the year, the Democracy PAC disbursed $6,620.17 to the Perkins Coie law firm and $600 to NGP Van, a voter database and consulting company.

Epstein's Lawyers Request A Full Year To Review A Million Pages Of Documents

Lawyers for Jeffrey Epstein have asked a judge for "at least a year" to review a "blizzard" of documents that prosecutors have gathered against him in their case alleging sex trafficking in minors and conspiracy. Bloomberg reports that prosecutors have asked the judge for a trial in June of next year, but Epstein's defense team, led by attorney Martin Weinberg, responded that his team wanted to wait until September 2020 because they haven't yet begun to receive documents from the government.

In a hearing on Wednesday in Manhattan, Weinberg said:
“We need time to receive a million pages of discovery and prepare to defend a four- to six-week trial. We need time to assess events that occurred 14 to 17 years ago.”

AT NEARLY $500K, COUNTY TAXMAN MAKES MORE THAN US PRESIDENT, 50 GOVERNORS

A county taxman in Georgia is raking in nearly $500,000 a year in salary, more than the US president and all 50 US governors.

Fulton Co. taxman Arthur Ferdinand’s salary keeps ballooning due to other county tax commissioners contracting with his city to do their taxes, an unusual system that’s apparently legal in Georgia, but not in neighboring states, according to local media.

“No public official has profited more from the fee system than Ferdinand, who has agreements with four cities and contracts pending with two more,” reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The Fulton tax commissioner earns more in fees from the city of Atlanta alone — $225,000 — than he does from his current county salary of $161,000.”

Colorado Poised to Hold Statewide Referendum on National Popular Vote

A group hoping to overturn the Colorado legislature's decision to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact says it has turned in 227,198 petition signatures Thursday in its attempt to force a statewide referendum vote in 2020.

Organizers for Coloradans Vote will need about 125,000 of those signatures to pass muster with the secretary of state's office to qualify for the ballot in November of next year.

"We are humbled by the remarkable support we have received from people across Colorado," said Mesa County Commissioner Rose Pugliese, one of the lead organizers. "Over 2,200 volunteers carried petitions to protect Colorado’s vote for President. This groundswell of grassroots support is not only remarkable—it's historic. No measure in Colorado's history has turned in as many signatures collected by volunteers as we did today."

Florida AG Attempts to Block ‘Assault Weapon’ Ban From Ballot

In a letter sent Friday, Florida's attorney general asked the state's supreme court to block a proposed ban on so-called "assault weapons" because she believes it is misleading and unclear.

Ashley Moody (R.) said the measure would have a wider impact than suggested by the title and summary activists hope to present to voters in 2020. In her letter to the court, she said the proposed language of the ballot issue would ban far more firearms than the summary implies.

"The ballot title and summary do not inform Florida's electorate that, by defining ‘assault weapons' as ‘any semiautomatic rifle or shotgun capable of holding more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition . . . in a fixed or detachable magazine,' the amendment would ban the possession of virtually every semi-automatic long-gun," Moody said in the letter. "To be included on the ballot, the sprawling practical effect of the amendment must be revealed in the ballot language. Because that effect is not revealed, the ballot language is deficient."

Democrats Don't Care About Baltimore

Last weekend, the president got bored and decided to see if he could make Democrats defend one of the most dangerous, mismanaged places in the country. And of course, he could. It wasn't hard. He just sent a flurry of tweets criticizing the city of Baltimore and Rep. Elijah Cummings. President Donald Trump called Baltimore a "disgusting, rat and rodent invested" hellhole, a "corrupt mess" that "no human being" would want to live in. A lot of people who've never been to Baltimore claimed to be deeply offended by those remarks. One person who seemed to agree with them was former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh. Just last year, she said things were so bad you could "smell the rotting rats."

The mayor did not explain why she hadn't cleaned things up. That footage of her remarks got almost no attention when it ran on a local news station. Neither did the recent story about Baltimore's deputy policy commissioner getting robbed at gunpoint by four thugs while out to dinner with his wife. People weren't talking about that over dinner in Georgetown this weekend. If there's one thing virtually everyone in Washington aggressively doesn't care about, it's Baltimore. It's 40 miles and an entire world away. You could live your whole life in D.C. and never visit or think about Baltimore.

The Empire Is Coming For Tulsi Gabbard

The second debate among Democratic hopefuls was notable for two things. The lack of common decency of most of them and Tulsi Gabbard’s immense, career-ending attack on Kamala Harris’ (D-Deep State) record as an Attorney General in California.

Harris came out of the first debate the clear winner and Gabbard cut her down to size with one of the single best minutes of political television since Donald Trump told Hillary Clinton, “Because you’d be in jail.”

Gabbard’s takedown of Harris was so spot on and her closing statement about the irresponsible nature of the Trump Administration’s foreign policy was so powerful she had to be actively suppressed on Twitter.

And, within minutes of the debate ending the media and the political machines moved into overdrive to smear her as a Russian agent, an Assad apologist and a favorite of the alt-right.

Thiel Slams Google for Sharing AI Technology with China

Tech billionaire and Donald Trump supporter Peter Thiel is stepping up his campaign against Google, taking the Silicon Valley giant to task over its cozy relationship with China in the realm of artificial intelligence technology.

In a scathing New York Times editorial on Friday, Thiel attacked Google for establishing an AI lab in Beijing in 2017 while ending its AI contract “Project Maven” with the Pentagon, after Google employees complained about the use of their research for defense purposes.

“Perhaps the most charitable word for these twin decisions would be to call them naive,” Thiel wrote in the New York Times.

“How can Google use the rhetoric of ‘borderless’ benefits to justify working with the country whose ‘Great Firewall’ has imposed a border on the internet itself? This way of thinking works only inside Google’s cosseted Northern California campus, quite distinct from the world outside.”

Thiel emphasized that Google’s close relationship with China poses national security risks, since Chinese law mandates that all research be shared with the People’s Liberation Army.

CALIFORNIA REMOVES ARREST REPORTS FROM KAMALA YEARS

A redesign of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website will make it harder for voters to inspect Sen. Kamala Harris's controversial record as the state's top cop.

The department removed public access to a number of reports on incarceration in the state, including when presidential candidate Kamala Harris (D.) was California's attorney general. Twice a year, the CDCR releases information about the number of new individuals incarcerated in the California prison system as part of its "Offender Data Points" series. These reports provide important information on demographics, sentence length, offense type, and other figures relevant to criminal justice and incarceration.

Until recently, these reports were publicly available at the CDCR's website. A search using archive.org's Wayback Machine reveals that as of April 25, 2019—the most recent indexed date—ODP reports were available dating back to the spring of 2009. As of August 2019, the same web page now serves only a single ODP report, the one for Spring 2019. The pre-2019 reports have been removed.

Ratings for NFL Hall of Fame Game Crash to All-Time Low

It’s often said that you never get a second chance to make a first impression. However, if the first impression the NFL made on the television ratings this season in any indication of where they’re headed, Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to ask for a second chance.

Ratings for the NFL’s Hall of Fame game on Thursday night registered a 4.1 in metered markets, an all-time low number for the league’s inaugural preseason game.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “That’s down about 15 percent from a 4.8 last year — which ended up translating to 6.77 million viewers in the finals, a low for the game that marks the beginning of the league’s preseason slate.”

Trump Supporters Push Back: ‘We Are All Tired Of Being Called Racists’

Following President Trump's packed-out rally of nearly 18,000 people in Ohio Thursday night, The Atlantic published a piece by Elaina Plott Friday addressing what the report suggests is an increasingly prominent sentiment among Trump supporters: "They are tired of being called racists."

After detailing Trump's recent criticisms of "The Squad" and Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings — which Democrats and their allies in the left-leaning media quickly branded "racist" — Plott presents a notable quote from Donald Trump Jr., who revved up the crowd Thursday in part by addressing the concerted effort to villify his father, and implictly his father's supporters. Racism is still an issue, Trump Jr. stressed, but the Left's habit of resorting to cries of "racism" makes a "mockery" of the term and ultimately "hurt[s] those that are actually afflicted by it."

"It's sad that using 'racism' has become the easy button of left-wing politics," the president's eldest son told the crowd overspilling the nearly 18,000-capacity U.S. Bank Arena Thursday. "...Because guess what? It still is an issue ... But by making a mockery of it by saying every time you can’t win a fight — 'Oh! We’re just gonna push the button! It’s racist' —you hurt those that are actually afflicted by it. People hear it, they roll their eyes, and they walk on. And that’s a disgrace, and that's what you’ve been given in the identity politics of the Left."

Philly Declares Public Health Emergency For Hepatitis A Outbreak

Philadelphia has declared a public health emergency as hepatitis A cases continue to skyrocket. A major source of the problem is human feces on city streets.

The outbreak is centered in the Kensington area, and city leaders say it’s mostly impacting the homeless community and drug users. But they say we all could be at risk.

“I know they’re trying to help and down in Kensington, we don’t get help down here,” Kensington resident Niyad Vaughn said.

Help is on the way to deal with the hepatitis A outbreak. It began with the health department declaring a public emergency Thursday.

“The emergency declaration is to call the healthcare community to partner with us rapidly, to administer vaccines to as many of these folks as we can, as soon as we can, to quell this outbreak,” Dr. Steven Alles, with the Philadelphia Department of Health, said.

DiGenova: DOJ Decision Not to Prosecute Comey Showed 'Professionalism'

Joe diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said the Justice Department’s decision not to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey for leaking information was “was a sign of professionalism and well-reasoned restraint.”

His comments came in a column posted Friday on the Fox News website.

“Attorney General Bill Barr’s number one goal since taking the helm at the DOJ has been to restore the impartial and professional ethos that has characterized that agency for more than 200 years,” diGenova said.

“He is working diligently to cleanse it of the stain of politically driven vindictiveness that Obama-era officials created by grossly mishandling the Clinton email investigation, and then, even more egregiously, orchestrating the series of events that led to the Russiagate witch hunt.

“Before this “investigation of the investigators” is over, there will undoubtedly be many cases of misconduct that warrant criminal prosecution. Comey’s, however, was not one of them”.

ACLU Blames ‘Inaccurate Stereotypes’ for Opposition to Male Athletes in Girls Sports

The American Civil Liberties Union blames “inaccurate stereotypes” for opposition to biological male athletes competing in female athletics, despite scientific research showing transgender athletes have advantages.

The ACLU is leading a petition campaign in support of two male athletes, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, who are dominating high school girls track in Connecticut. “While Andraya and Terry’s teammates and coaches support them, some cisgender athletes want to keep them out of girls’ sports,” the petition states.

One of Miller and Yearwood’s female competitors, Selina Soule, has repeatedly criticized forcing girls to compete against male athletes. “Currently, in Connecticut I am the only girl who is speaking out,” she said last month. “Everyone else is too afraid.”

President Trump Shatters Left-Wing Myths

It is not in our American makeup to shake in our boots because someone will call us a name.

President Trump is boldly providing much-needed relief to the American people. He is untying us from the bonds of political correctness that have, in un-American fashion, forced Americans to accept liberal myths and farces. He is telling it like it is, showing Americans that their freedom of speech cannot be muzzled by liberal censors or taken away by the left-wing speech and thought police.

It’s about time someone, as the President did, stopped all this baloney and labeled Al Sharpton the con-man he has been for decades. In the name of being a “civil rights leader”, Sharpton has gotten away with not paying millions of dollars in owed taxes; fomented rioting against Brooklyn’s religious Jews; led --- with self-proclaimed racist Sonny Carson -- a boycott of a Korean grocery store, where protesters called the owners “yellow monkeys”; held anti-Semitic, racially-charged rallies that led to the Freddy’s Department Store massacre; and knowingly and purposely destroyed the lives of two white police officers in the Tawana Brawley hoax. Sharpton has been shoved down our throats as "reverend" while threatening “no justice, no peace.”

Finally, someone has demonstrated a compelling inner sense of truth to portray Sharpton as what he is: a creator of hoaxes and shakedowns, and a serial inciter of violence and racial strife for his own power and self-enrichment.

President Trump is broadening the scope of the Presidency by taking on issues no previous leader was willing to do.

Johnny Damon On Baltimore: Trump Is Right. We Used To Like Going There And Now It’s Just Too Scary

President Donald Trump’s claims about Baltimore received more validation. This time from two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon, who said that the city was a great place to visit when he entered professional baseball in the mid-1990s. It’s now a hellhole and a scary place to be (via TMZ Sports):
Johnny Damon is going to bat for Donald Trump ... saying toward the end of his baseball career -- he and his teammates were straight-up scared to go out on the town in Baltimore.

Damon says he thinks Trump's choices of words were a little harsh ... but he tells TMZ Sports he agrees with 45 -- saying back when he played in the MLB, he didn't love hitting the road there.

"He's not wrong," Damon says ... "Baltimore was one of the best places to visit when I broke into the league in '95. And, at the end, we didn't really, like, enjoy going back."
