Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick pointed Sunday to the video game industry and social media as areas to look into after a mass shooting in a shopping area in El Paso on Saturday killed at least 20 people.
“Let’s condemn it for what it is: evil,” Mr. Patrick said on Fox News. “And I say how long are we going to let, for example, and ignore at the federal level particularly where they can do something about the video game industry?”
He said a “manifesto” believed to have been posted online by the alleged El Paso shooter includes talk about living out a “Call of Duty”-style “super solider fantasy.”
“We know that the video game industry is bigger than the movie industry and the music industry combined,” Mr. Patrick said.
“We’ve always had guns; we’ve always had evil, but what’s changed where we see this rash of shooting? And I see a video game industry that teaches young people to kill,” he said. “This was maybe a video to this evil demon — a video game to him.”

How come no word on his gun? The Ohio shooter used the deadly "Black Plastic Rifle" and the Media won't shut up about it. What this guy use a gun that doesn't fit their agenda?
ReplyDeletelets not forget how Hollywood has been poisoning and manipulating the minds of so many for ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been saying this for years: all of the mass shooters are young, white men who have obviously blurred the line between fantasy and reality. There's no remorse in a video game. And, the more people you kill, the more lethal prize weapon you get in the next rounds.
ReplyDeletePeople grasping at straws looking for something to blame.
ReplyDeleteThis is not because of video games. There is nothing wrong with video games.
Call of Duty sold 250 million copies. That is just a single game, imagine adding all of the other games to this. If it was the cause of these kinds of incidents, their occurrence rate would be much higher.
I don't know what the solution is. Bad people do bad things, across all cultures and societies. It just so happens that in our society, guns are relatively easy to obtain. One would expect higher incidences of these kinds of attacks in such a society, and that is exactly what we have.
No other nation in the world has as many of these kind of events... it's not even close.
I am a gun owning second amendment supporter, and I don't know that there are any easy answers or solutions. My heart aches for all those affected by these tragedies.
lol ok ok, sooooo if it was video games with all the fantasy high powered weaponry, then dont you think having readily available access to real guns is throwing gas on the fire?
ReplyDeleteNOTE: I don't believe either video games or guns were the cause. Just find it funny how these idiot politicians spout nonsense. Unfortunately too many of their supporters won't call them out for it.
All these mass shooters have given up on life, they know what the future holds for them in a society run by the crooked, greedy, lying, two faced, deep state elite that has taken this country over. The American dream is all but gone for most, if you don't already have it, you're not getting it. All these mass killings are people stessed to the point of venting their frustrations out in society. They know of no other way to let their feelings be known. It is wrong but it's the only way they know how to get attention. This is actually the beginning of a revolution. politicians and ceo's take notice.
ReplyDeleteAnti white racism, removal of accountability to a creator God by atheist in government (murdering wantonly is much harder to do when you fear eternally burning), and anti-depressants are the reason for white mass shooters.
ReplyDeleteUntil that changes no law will help. Without guns they'll build bombs and plan more carefully.
Love me Daddy😘
