  1. A non liberal mayor that stops wasting taxpayer money and catering to his liberal friends!

  2. A new mayor and city council.

  3. Remove most of the far too huge billboards!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Burn it to the ground and start over. Anything less is a waste of time and money.

  5. City Charter dissolved, and become part of the County.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Small scale Manufacturing jobs. Like to see start-ups come out of SU and/or UMES that aren't just retail or restaurants/bars.

  7. Get rid of the good ole boys.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Beyond repair , too little too late.

  9. AGREE WITH BOTH OF 1:11pm

  10. Paint over the gay crosswalks.

  11. Better paying Jobs as it was before Dresser, Campbell Soup, Northwood Industrial, Northrup Grumman's, etc. Folded. This I would prioritize to improve the tax base, real-estate market and eliminate urban blight. Second I would work on affordable housing and also at the same time do something to shelter the homeless other than just in the winter season.

  12. Repave Mill Street from Rt 50 to Isabella Street. Many good businesses there on a road that is in horrible shape.

  13. Just went driving around town with friends from out of town. They asked the meaning of the "turn-abouts" (rotarys) at different locations in town, i.e. the Zoo area. We were all laughing at the stupidity of roads to nowhere, Isn't there a limitation. I guess not.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Get rid of the stupid roadblock that they put up on the S. Park & Park Heights Ave by the zoo, What the hell is it's purpose?

    ReplyDelete
  15. OK. On a more serious note: fix the potholes and speed bumps, coordinate the traffic lights, start sprucing up properties via incentives of some sort.
I just drove over the same speed bump on Wayne street that i busted my strut on 5 years ago. Come on, man! Is the city that broke??

  16. A mayor and city council that care about the people and not a==hole buddies and slum lords. also a mayor with vision beyond bike paths and rainbow sidewalks.

  17. Something done about the blight. There are a few small pockets of nice areas but when driving around the vast majority of Salisbury you are sure you are about ready at the very minimum to witness a drive-by. Cleaning up the blight would be a start in the right direction to reduce the extremely high crime rate in Salisbury also.

  18. Repeal the City Charter

    ReplyDelete
  19. Elected officials who actually have working brains. Like stated above focusing GOOD paying jobs instead of asinine things like folk festivals that do nothing but cost tax payers massive amounts of money. It is disturbing that not one has the intelligence to even mentioning trying to bring in good paying jobs or to make it a focus when they run for office. This is a Freudian admission on their own parts that not have the smarts or the capability to make that happen. The residents need to wise up themselves and vote for people who are movers shakers and are intelligent and have proven records of achievement. IN other words get rid of the nothings in there now and start over

  20. More patrols downtown on the plaza from 12 am to 5 am. Thug control.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Fix the mall entrance

    ReplyDelete
  22. a professional educated citizenry! which will never happen in this ghetto!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Remove all city department heads and do a search for better qualified candidates. Eliminate any and all duplicate positions that merely have a small difference in job description. Get rid of the butt buddy system

    ReplyDelete
  24. I believe we definitely need to replace our Mayor he has done absolutely nothing good for this city. He is a child with childish ways his priorities have been: A festival that the first is past and the second is fast approaching, when even Homeland Security said it was a mistake and they were ignored. It was never well planned and the spot where it was and is to be held is wrong too much traffic, little land to hold many people, no fencing to prevent now 2nd drowning has taken place on this spot, insufficient parking near the festival, vendors poor, entertainment poor, not a family setting. Then their were the orange bikes for the festival again not for the area chosen not a good idea and dangerous for traffic. A mayor who doesn't answer from citizens calls, e-mails, text messages with concerns. If an area farther out of right in the center of city had been chosen some of these things might have worked. To do something again and not change the priorities is childish. Enough said.

  25. Get rid of panhandlers.

  26. Careful what you wish for a about the city charter. If the city and county merge and DAY gets one of his cronies in there like Carl Anderton the city/county will become Baltimore 2.0. it's bad enough now but if DAY has access to both city and county taxes look out!!

  27. 'bury should be dissolved and incorporated into the county. That will enable getting rid of duplicated services and duplicate staff.

There is an immense dearth of talented and motivated people within city boundaries currently; look no further than current mayor and council for proof. Consolidated city & county would let those who moved out but have stakes in the city participate again.

  28. Pave Culver Road and enforce people parking in fire lanes

    ReplyDelete
  29. Someone get Cannon, Day, Gilliss, and this latest crony at veteran builders out of the backrooms of city government and stop the pointless construction

    ReplyDelete
  30. Too far gone. Improvement attempts will be futile.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The infrastructure around town is in bad shape. Drive out the higher tax base and the tax income levels drop and never come back up. Little Baltimore here it comes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. More volunteer firefighters.

  33. Rinnier brought in Starbucks - that's something to improve Salisbury. Now college kids have a place to hang out.

  35. @7:00 rinnier is one of the main, if not the main culprit for Salisbury's demise and donward spiral into a city full of rental complexes and now section 8 housing. Blair Rinnier put his greed ahead of the betterment of the city as a whole

  36. Attract a nice, affordable hotel.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The town is going to auction off the land connected to the Hilton Hotel and end their lawsuit. Come all, get a nice plot for pennies on the dollar.

  39. the quality of people who really care about the city and not just themselves

  40. Move out all the homeless into Delaware, they are so creepy they should be with the Biden family, they obviously like creepy men.

  41. 2:22 AND 2:31 made a good point. Let's get rid of the blight.
There are too many nice neighborhoods that are GA: ghetto adjacent.

  42. Hi, this Wayne King, candidate for mayor. GOP Conservative.

Check out my platform to see how I will approach these problems. You may meet me on July 18th at 6pm at the Brew River.

  43. Crime is a big factor. I don't go to Salisbury at night and only go during the day if I'm with someone.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Fix the roads! So many roads that need fixing and some that need to be wider.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Until you get rid of the liberals trying to run the city you won't see much of an improvement. They are too busy worrying about trying to appease all the minorities.

    ReplyDelete
  46. how about synchronization of the traffic lites on rt 13 and rt 50. single best thing that could be done to help the people of this town area!

  47. Fix the problems like you promised at SPD and stop kicking that can down the road. Jake it’s an election year. Can’t wait to hear these promises AGAIN

  49. Bring Back The Geese

  50. I agree with Dave Snyder's comment so many jobs have been lost and all money into bars and restaurants. To me going out is having expendable cash which I do not. Something has to been done about the cost of rentals being driving up. When you can own a home for half of what you are paying in rent there is a problem. With people living paycheck to paycheck evictions are on the rise thus cause an increase in the transient population. Either homeless, living in hotels or cars. With the feds putting all the money into rapid rehousing instead of prevention we have more people on the streets, this is more working families than you know. All the deals being struck for more and more apartments at 1200-1500 a month it is only going to get worse. Day may be lining the pockets of the developers now but when he is gone it will crumble and we have all these high rises empty. JOBS JOBS and reasonable living cost will be a huge start. Then I would cut a lot of the positions the City has invented . I think we are locked into the folk fest which not a bad idea if he took it serious and planned correctly. I would focus on the amphitheater as an attraction and look at ways for Salisbury to become a destination instead of just a college town. That being said a meaningful relationship with the university would be an asset . Cross promotion of sports events to bring parents in to visit and spend money instead of photo ops. I would also look into the marina and partner with Green Hill and Wicomico Yacht club. Look at the budget and see where the money is being spent and reallocate away so many roads could have been repaired instead of the money poured into own by the park. Also I would look at the grants coming in and whats available.
