  2. Well, we've gone from t-bones to rear enders. Progress, i guess...

  3. How many is that since the new safe intersection was opened? I think 3! Traffic needs to slow down!!

  5. You gotta be kidding.

  6. Guess it was the light, not the driver that caused the accident. Hope no one was hurt.

    1. Nope, still driver error as always

    2. Meant to be sarcastic.

Just like when some one gets shot blame the gun, not the person who pulled trigger.

  8. As I said before, should of put an overhead bridge in like the one at St. Luke's Rd. and 13 bypass. Ramps could of been shorter due to the difference in speed limit. Would of been done and no stops either direction. Many intersections around here are poorly designed. G Llc.

    1. No. It's not the light. It's idiots on their phones!

    2. Should have dug a huge pond and use a ferry to get across. Much safer and easy to do.

  9. It happens because at least 30% of drivers on the road couldn't pass another drivers test

    1. Did you know that 74% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

    2. Only 22% of the time though

    3. That leaves 64% still.... oh look a butterfly.

  11. Pittsville has a police department?

  12. 6:11pm, hardly, i'd say this is #6 since the intersection opened!

  13. Overpasses (excluding bridges) have a range from $150 to $250 per square foot or $1,073,000 to $5,366,000 per complete installation, depending on site conditions. Pre-fabricated steel bridges approximately $200,000.

I don't think an overpass will be coming any time soon.

  14. Yea, when did they get police??

  15. @8:54 If only we lived in one of those more heavily taxed states, then the government would have the money to build it... oh wait.

  16. I'm not a fan of the new light, either, but I think the state did a pretty decent job redesigning this intersection.
And, most rear-ender's are rarely fatal, as opposed to t-bones.

  17. But, but, but...those lights were supposed to make people better drivers! Whatever could've happened??

    ReplyDelete
  18. Really? what are you saying, that more people pick up the phone when they get to this intersection? Crazy Phones don't why this section of road is more dangerous than any other.

  19. 9:14. I appreciate what you’re saying.

  20. One problem is thy now have way too many stoplights going on Rt. 50 east and west in that area. With the Shorebirds, etc. It's stop and go. Easy to miss something.
With entrances and exits from the bypass to watch out for people leaving or merging to Rt.50, and looking for stoplights, it's confusing.

  21. 9:14 I thought that percentage was lower.

  22. You can go back and look, but I said this would happen as soon as the light was installed. Route 50 traffic will not slow down for a yellow light, and will not stop for a red light. This will continue until they install rumble strips, and a speed limit reduction before the light. And maybe someone will remember I said this before the SHA figures it out. Time will tell. The light was not the solution, rather it is just a part of the solution. That intersection will never justify the amount of money that would be required to construct an overpass exchange. The little town of Pittsville just isn't worth it.

  23. Another shooting in da'Bury! This is from SPD's twitter. Notice how they call it a fight instead of a shooting.

I was wondering the same thing.

  26. There were rumble strips on Rt 50 W approaching Sixty Foot Road before the lights were added. They need to be renewed because they are worn down.

Also the flashing yellow lights in advance of the new intersection only flash yellow. Several other Rt 50 intersections have warning lights that flash red in advance of the signal change. Someone at SHA was asleep at the switch by not having the red signal change type installed at 60 Foot. Time for a retro fit in a jiffy before the tourists arrive.

You can't fix stupid but it's worth trying to rein it in!

  27. These idiots think the ocean is going to dry up and disappear. They think doing 70mph will get them there so much faster but ironically that is just not true if you catch one light you have cut into your stupidity. How many times does someone blow past you like you are the problem for doing the speed limit and then pull up beside them at a traffic light lol. The love the Eastern Shore I hate the idiots that come here during the summer. Well I guess it all can not be tourist. Just watch the light in front of the mall people run that light constantly. Salisbury would make a ton of revenue just by putting a camera there.

  28. The beach will be there you morons! Having to stop for 2 minutes isn't going to make you miss anything!

  29. May 6, 2019 at 9:28 PM, I don't know what Rt 50 you drive on, but a red flashing light means STOP. Like a STOP sign. That would mean drivers would have to stop there and also the steady red at the intersection.

You need to drive in the USA more often to familiarize yourself with our traffic laws!

...and they wonder why there are so many accidents...
