"My Son's History Teacher Taught Him That The Electoral College Should Be Abolished"

During my son’s junior year of high school, he was taught by his U.S. history teacher that the electoral college is unfair and should be abolished.

How do I know? My husband and I had made a habit out of asking him what he learned in school each day over dinner.

And so over a plate of chicken enchiladas, our then-16-year-old son told us about how his public school teacher had bemoaned and decried the electoral college as an outdated and unjust system that subverts the will of the people.

Needless to say, we quickly explained to him how the electoral college is the best presidential voting method for our republic, as it helps protect states’ rights, ensures checks and balances, and defends against tyrannical majorities.

But my point here isn’t to cheer the electoral college, it’s to warn parents that the indoctrination starts in high school.

  3. Almost correct... it actually starts in kindergarten.
If this keeps up, we will all be wearing brown uniforms and walking in lock-step.

  5. At Bennett a Syrian substitute spewed anti American and privilege to students and had to be removed. Why don’t we hear about this. It certainly affects our children

  6. She doesn't know much about history I guess. People fled oppression in Europe and created their own country under a democratic republic rule. Great historians all knew true democracy was the majority telling the minority what to do. This is why the republic has stood for so long.

  7. The so called public schools are in reality government schools. The buildings are owned by the government, the administrators and instructors are employees of the government, The committees that oversee them are agencies of government, the taxes that pay for them are levied by government and most importantly, what is taught in them is decided by government.

  8. What is unfair is for less populated states to not have a say in national elections and having to abide by the laws set by states with large cities full of liberal idiots. That is why we have an electoral college vote.

  9. They start indoctrinating your child in Kindergarten. The heliocentric fantasy along with the Darwinian evolution nonsense are just about day 1 criteria. They do so before your child has the means to question anything they are being told knowing they will go along to get along.
