Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) released a statement Saturday after the Senate confirmed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, saying the Democrats' "crazed, hysterical" attempt at mob rule failed.
"Judge Kavanaugh was a distinguished jurist who respects our Constitution and the judiciary’s vital but limited role in our system of government. I expect Justice Kavanaugh will continue to interpret the Constitution and the laws as written, rather than asserting his own preferences as law," Cotton said in his statement. "Sadly, because Democrats have long depended on activist judges to impose their unpopular ideas on an unwilling people, the Democrats waged a scorched-earth campaign of character assassination against him. But the Democrats’ crazed, hysterical attempt at left-wing mob rule has failed, and rightfully so. Today is a victory not only for Justice Kavanaugh and his family, but also for the rule of law, due process, fair play, and basic decency."

Mitch McConnell: Senate 'stood up for presumption of innocence'
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Senate “stood up for presumption of innocence” by confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh was confirmed 50-48 Saturday during a historic roll call vote in the Senate chamber. The two-vote margin is one of the narrowest ever for a Supreme Court nominee.
McConnell said at a press conference that putting Kavanaugh on the court “was about treating someone fairly.”

Conservatives: A ‘Major Step’ in Restoring Constitutional Rights
Conservative groups hailed Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court as a “victory” for American liberty and called it a “major step” in restoring constitutional rights in the U.S.
Conservative think tanks, advocacy groups, and legal organizations dedicated to defending religious liberty weighed in on Kavanaugh’s Saturday afternoon confirmation, which was one of the “defining” issues for many voters in the 2016 election.
“This nomination and today’s confirmation were about the Constitution and the foundational freedoms it was designed to protect. Today was a major step in the journey to restore the Constitution to its rightful and intended role in our Republic,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins announced Saturday.
“Today is a victory for liberty in America. I am overjoyed that the Senate confirmed Brett Kavanaugh, a good man and good jurist. Justice Kavanaugh will serve with distinction as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States for years to come,” Heritage Foundation President Kay Cole James said in a Saturday statement.

Lindsey Graham Slams Activists Who ‘Yell and Spit,’ Praises Colleague Susan Collins
In an appearance on “Hannity” on Fox News on Friday night, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) had high praise for Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) for her comments on Friday afternoon on the floor of the Senate about the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the process of nominating and confirming justices for the U.S. Supreme Court.
Sen. Graham told Fox News host Sean Hannity, “If I had to tell somebody a good reason to vote for Judge Kavanaugh, I would ask them to look at Susan’s speech. It was just incredible in detail, forcefully delivered. She didn’t look like she was pained.”
Graham also said voters in this fall’s midterm elections will have one of two choices when they go to vote: “the Susan Collins way or the protester way,” as Fox News Insider also reported of the exchange.
“Who do you want to run the government? Conservatives aligned with Sen. Collins, trying to work toward empowering people, making us safe, more money in your pocket? Or do you want to turn your government over to people who just yell and spit on you? To me, this is a really important time in American history,” Graham said.

Millionaires build luxury panic rooms to hide from MS-13
There is a specter haunting the Hamptons — one that’s turning some of the priciest properties in the country into fortresses equipped with bulletproof glass, weaponry and panic rooms.
“I sleep with a gun underneath my pillow: a Walther PPK/S, the same one James Bond carried,” said John Catsimatidis, owner of Red Apple Group and Gristedes Foods, who has a vacation property in East Quogue. “[My wife] Margo prefers a shotgun. Although, once, she thought she heard something, got the shotgun out and shot through the door.”
The billionaire and his family, like others in the Hamptons, are shaken up over concerns that the vicious Salvadorian gang MS-13 is too close for comfort. In April, members of the gang massacred four young men behind a soccer field in Central Islip. Three months later, a Hampton Bays brothel raided by police was found to be tagged with an MS-13 sign. And in 2016, a man with MS-13 connections broke into a Southampton home and sexually assaulted a woman.

Susan Collins swings back at Planned Parenthood over Supreme Court double-standard
Senator Susan Collins, Maine Republican, accused Planned Parenthood of a Supreme Court double-standard Sunday, arguing that the organization has never supported a pro-choice justice nominated by a Republican president.
The pro-choice Republican swung back after the abortion provider turned on her for voting Saturday to confirm Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, saying she had “sided with those who disbelieved, disrespected, and even mocked survivors.”
“First of all, I have never disregarded, disrespected or mocked survivors. That is just plain untrue,” said Ms. Collins on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
She pointed to Planned Parenthood’s opposition to Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Anthony Kennedy, who were nominated by President Ronald Reagan, and Justice David Souter, who was nominated by President George H.W. Bush.
“I would note that Planned Parenthood opposed three pro-choice justices just because they were nominated by Republican presidents: David Souter, Sandra Day O’Connor and Justice Kennedy,” said Ms. Collins. “They said the same thing, women will die..."

We should stop calling them all 'Entitlements'. Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, ad nausea are not entitlements. They are taxpayer-funded handouts, and shouldn't be called entitlements at all.

Trump to America: Midterms a Chance to ‘Render Your Verdict on the Democrats’ Conduct’
President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Topeka, Kansas Saturday night with the charge that they have the opportunity on midterm Election Day to render their own verdict on Democrats conduct throughout the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation.
“But each of you will have a chance in just four weeks to render your verdict on the Democrats’ conduct, at the ballot box. Gotta vote,” Trump told the extremely enthusiastic crowd. “On November 6 you will have the chance to stop the radical Democrats – and that’s what they’ve become – by electing a Republican House and a Republican Senate. We will increase our majorities. We need more Republicans.”
“We have been energized,” said Trump to a crowd loud in their cheers amidst a sea of waving signs. “If Democrats are willing to cause such destruction in the pursuit of power, just imagine the devastation they would cause if they ever obtained the power they so desperately want and grab.”
“You don’t hand matches to an arsonist and you don’t give power to an angry left-wing mob and that’s what they’ve become,” said President Trump. “The Democrats have become too extreme and too dangerous to govern. Republicans believe in the rule of law, not the rule of the mob.”

Sen. Cory Gardner reveals wife received graphic text of beheading after Kavanaugh vote
In the wake of his vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on Saturday, Republican Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., revealed to Fox News on Sunday that his wife had received a graphic text message with a video depicting a beheading, and that someone has publicly posted the names and addresses of his family members.
Gardner announced his support for Kavanaugh in July, and reaffirmed it after reviewing the supplemental FBI report into uncorroborated sexual misconduct allegations against him.
Late last month, Gardner received a letter from an anonymous individual apparently in Denver, alleging that Kavanaugh had "shoved" someone up against a wall "very aggressively and sexually" during an outing in 1998 in front of four witnesses. The allegation was later deemed not to be credible.
"Every victim of abuse, assault, and violence has been through an unspeakable tragedy and we need to do a better job listening to them, ensuring support is available, and fighting to end abuse of any kind," Gardner said in a statement prior to receiving the graphic text messages. "I hope that the partisan divide we all feel today does not hinder the people that have bravely come forward.”
Kavanaugh, his wife Ashley, and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford have also all received numerous death threats in recent days.

Alan Dershowitz Warns Dems Against 'Revenge Inquisition'
While he wants the Democrats to regain control of the House, civil liberties legal expert Alan Dershowitz warns against "a revenge inquisition" into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
"Because I am a liberal Democrat, I want to see the House flipped to my party as an important check and balance between the executive and legislative branches," Dershowitz wrote in a Fox News opinion piece. "But what I don't want to see is a Democratic House abuse its authority by conducting vengeful impeachment proceedings against Kavanaugh.
". . . an investigation of 36-year-old charges against a sitting justice would be an abuse of the powers of Congress.
"Such an investigation would simply be partisan payback for Kavanaugh’s confirmation."

Hillary Clinton is still finding ways to denigrate democracy
And so our fiery national nightmare is over. For now.
But only a Pollyanna would think peace is about to break out across the bloody political and cultural battlefields. We are a long way from fixing what was shattered and retrieving what has been lost.
There were many causes and events on the long road that brought us to this low place, but a telling moment took place almost exactly two years ago. It was the final debate of the presidential campaign, held on Oct. 19, 2016.
Here is how The New York Times began its slanted coverage: “In a remarkable statement that seemed to cast doubt on American democracy, Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he might not accept the results of next month’s election if he felt it was rigged against him — a stand that Hillary Clinton blasted as ‘horrifying.’ ”
After noting that no modern president refused to accept election results, the paper quoted Clinton attacking Trump.
“Let’s be clear about what he is saying and what that means,” she said. “He is denigrating — he is talking down our democracy. And I am appalled that someone who is the nominee of one of our two major parties would take that position.”
She added, “That is not the way our democracy works.”
Fast forward to now, and it is the height of irony — and hypocrisy — that Clinton and her supporters, including the Times, still refuse to accept the election’s outcome. It started with her flimsy claims of Russian collusion and continues uninterrupted, with the character assassination campaign against Brett Kavanaugh the latest example.

Graham Challenges Schumer: ‘Name One Person on This List You Think Is Acceptable’
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) challenged Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) on Sunday to name one person from President Donald Trump's list of potential Supreme Court justices that he finds acceptable.
"This is a list that was compiled in November, but [Trump] actually put it out during the campaign," Graham told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace, as he held up the list. "There are twenty something people on this list; I'm asking Chuck Schumer, name five, name three, name one that would be okay with you."
"Brett Kavanaugh was a mainstream judge I would've chosen if I had been president. [Former President George W.] Bush supported him. Everybody running for president on our side believe that Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch were outstanding conservative jurists. The other side wants to cancel the election," Graham said. "So Chuck, you want someone new? Look at this list and see anybody you agree to, but what you want to do Senator Schumer is to overturn the election. We are not going to let you pick the judges. If you want to pick judges, then you need to win the White House. When Obama won that, I voted for two judges that he picked. So Chuck Schumer, name one person on this list you think is acceptable."

Judicial Watch Sues ATF for Records About Obama Attempt to Restrict AR-15 Ammunition
Judicial Watch announced that it has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), a component of the Department of Justice, for 1,900 pages of records about a proposed reclassification that would effectively ban certain types of AR-15 ammunition as armor-piercing (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-02218)).
Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit after the agency failed to respond to a May 14, 2018, FOIA request for the 1,900 documents about the Obama administration’s AR-15 ammo ban efforts. The documents include ATF talking points about the “Armor Piercing Ammunition Notice of Proposed Rulemaking” and other records discussing ammunition classification.
The lawsuit is the latest development in Judicial Watch’s more than three-year effort to obtain documents from the ATF. Judicial Watch discovered the document cache in separate litigation on the ammo ban issue.
“Simply put, the ATF refuses to comply with federal open records law,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “The ATF has withheld records for over three years concerning the Obama administration’s shady attempt to institute gun control by restricting ammunition instead of guns.”

Judicial Watch Statement on Kavanaugh Confirmation
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement in response to the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as Associate Justice to the United States Supreme Court:
"In confirming Judge Kavanaugh the Senate has confirmed a good man with an impeccable record of honoring the U.S. Constitution. Judge Kavanaugh’s record shows him to be a believer in the rule of law, and I believe he will serve the American people with distinction.
"We are grateful that a majority of the Senate rejected the leftist smears, abuse of process, and rejection of constitutional norms. Now there must be accountability for this lawless assault on our constitutional republic.
"Judicial Watch has launched an investigation into the Senate ethics and legal abuses by anti-Kavanaugh Senators. And we will continue to pursue our Senate ethics complaint against Sen. Booker for his admitted violation of Senate rules, the violation of which requires expulsion from the Senate."

Trump's 'Compromise' on Border Wall
"But I say to Congress, I will never sign another bill like this again," said President Donald Trump. "I'm not going to do it again."
That was at a March 23 press conference after Trump had signed a $1.3 trillion continuing resolution that would fund the government through the remainder of fiscal 2018, which ended this past Sunday.
One of the things that angered Trump about that $1.3 trillion bill was that it only provided $1.6 billion for work on the border wall he had made one of his signature campaign promises. Trump had been seeking a long-term commitment of $25 billion.
"Not happy with $1.6 billion, but it does start the wall," Trump said, "and we will make that $1.6 billion go very, very far."
Flash-forward six months to Sept. 15. Now Trump expressed his dismay in a tweet, not a press conference.
"When will Republican leadership learn that they are being played like a fiddle by the Democrats on Border Security and Building the Wall?" Trump said.
"Without Borders, we don't have a country," he said. "With Open Borders, which the Democrats want, we have nothing but crime!
"Finish the Wall!" he declared.

Ben Shapiro: ‘Founders Never Intended’ for SCOTUS to Be ‘Superior Political Branch’
On his daily Facebook live podcast “The Ben Shapiro Show” Friday, host and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Wire Ben Shapiro suggested that the “stakes are so high” with Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh because the “Founders never intended for the Supreme Court to be the superior political branch.”
“The reason that the stakes are so high is because the Court became something it never was before during the Warren era and afterward,” stated Ben Shapiro. “And that was, an actual political institution dedicated to a specific set of policy goals.”
“I will note something: it is pretty amazing, it’s pretty amazing that we’ve reached this point in American public life with regard to Supreme Court seats.
“This did in fact start with the Democratic left that decided that the Court was a tool for the promulgation of public policy and not merely an impartial arbiter or constitutional meaning."
Later in his show, Shapiro continued, “[T]he Founders never intended for the Supreme Court to be the superior political branch, and yet, that’s exactly what’s happened.”

The Left’s Pattern of Overlooking Due Process
The notion that certain Americans are pre-emptively guilty of wrongdoing, whether there’s any corroborating evidence to back up an accusation or not, isn’t reserved for conservatives who happen to be in contention for a Supreme Court seat.
In the hierarchy of progressive values, due process is a bottom dweller.
Over the past decade, you could see the illiberalism evolving on college campuses, where Democrats subverted basic standards of justice.
It was the Obama administration that demanded schools judge cases of alleged sexual assaults under a “clear and convincing evidence” standard rather than on a “preponderance of evidence” standard, allowed accusers to appeal “not guilty” findings, and permitted the meting out of punishment before any investigation was even conducted, among other big problems.
Democrats are simply shepherding those corrosive standards into the real world.
Another area of American life where we continue to see egregious attacks on the presumption of innocence is gun ownership.

Another area of American life where we continue to see egregious attacks on the presumption of innocence is gun ownership.

ACORN Veterans Among Those Harassing Public Officials
Remember ACORN?
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2010 after a series of high-profile scandals involving undercover video investigations and allegations of voter fraud led to a loss of public and private support.
But ACORN’s former staffers and some if its chapters have found a new home within a left-leaning network of activists that includes the nonprofit Center for Popular Democracy and its sister organizations, Action for the Common Good and the Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund.
Two staffers of the Center for Popular Democracy were the women who shouted at Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., last Friday at a Senate elevator in a widely reported confrontation over his expected vote in favor of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, National Review columnist John Fund reported.
Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., are among senators who have been shouted down by anti-Kavanaugh protesters as they spoke to reporters during the final days of the heated confirmation process.
An article on the Center for Popular Democracy’s website about the “People’s Convention” in downtown Pittsburgh in July 2016 said the nonprofit progressive advocacy group was “trying to fill the vacuum left in the wake of ACORN’s demise in 2010.”

Parents of Teen Boy Falsely Accused of Sexual Assault Sue Five ‘Mean Girl’ Accusers
The parents of a teenager falsely accused of sexual assault are suing the five “mean girls” who later admitted to lying about the boy’s alleged attack.
Affirming that all “victims” of sexual assault are not necessarily telling the truth, a group of girls at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, Pennsylvania, accused a boy of sexually assaulting one of them but then admitted to lying about the story.
The girls later retracted their accusations, but not before the boy suffered a list of repercussions resulting from the accusation, WPXI News reported.

Kavanaugh champion Lindsey Graham vows to be powerful weapon for GOP in 2018 midterm elections
Sen. Lindsey Graham vowed Sunday to hit the campaign trail before the midterm elections to oppose sitting Democrats in states that Trump won because of their opposition to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“All I can say is this is going to the streets at the ballot box,” Graham, R-S.C., said during an interview on "Fox News Sunday." “I've never campaigned against a colleague in my life. That's about to change. I'm going to go throughout this country and let people in these purple states, red states, where Trump won know what I thought, know what I think about this process.”
Graham has criticized Democrats for how they treated Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to Supreme Court on Saturday after a bitter confirmation battle during which the judge fought off allegations of sexual assault.

Democrats’ foul tactics on Kavanaugh may come back to bite them
“I can’t think of a more embarrassing scandal for the United States Senate since the McCarthy hearings,” said Texas Republican John Cornyn as Judge Brett Kavanaugh testified before the Judiciary Committee on the afternoon of Sept. 27, “when the question was, ‘Have you no sense of decency?'"
Cornyn was quoting Joseph Welch, the Boston lawyer representing Joe McCarthy’s targets in the June 1954 hearing, responding to McCarthy’s charge that a young lawyer was a communist. Six months later, the Senate censured McCarthy by a vote of 67-22, and his name became a synonym for manipulating parliamentary procedure and making spectacular and unsubstantiated charges for political gain.
Which is what Senate Democrats, with the active and avid cooperation of many of their friends and fans in the press, have been doing throughout the confirmation process for the Supreme Court nomination of Kavanaugh. They have, in truth, been doing it for decades now. Character assassination has become their weapon of choice.

"Angry Mob" of "Radical Democrats" Has Become "Too Extreme And Too Dangerous To Govern"
President Trump on Saturday touted a conservative victory after his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, was confirmed as the 114th Justice after a contentious and dramatic assault from the left.
Speaking in Topeka, Kansas, Trump framed the Democratic resistance to Kavanaugh as an attempt by an "angry mob" to hijack the proceedings "in their quest for power."
"They threw away and threw aside every notion of fairness, of justice, of decency and of due process," Trump said of the anti-Kavanaugh efforts. "What he and his wonderful family endured at the hands of Democrats is unthinkable, unthinkable.

Trump: Midterms a Chance to ‘Render Your Verdict on the Democrats’ Conduct’

Sen. Graham: If Trump Wins A Nobel Prize, ‘Liberals All Over The World Will Jump Out Of Buildings’
“It’s not about being liked, it’s about results.”
“Well if North Korea comes through, yes. I’ll say this, if Donald Trump gets the Nobel Peace Prize, liberals all over the world will jump out of buildings,” Graham said when asked whether he thought Trump would win.
From behind the camera, someone remarked that a lot of people around the world don’t particularly like Trump.
Graham continued, “It’s not about being liked, it’s about results. So I think he’s doing a good job destroying ISIS, taking Iran on, but if we get North Korea to give up their nukes and live in peace, God, he would deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.”

Trump Awards Medal of Honor to His Own Secret Service Agent
President Donald Trump on Monday awarded the Medal of Honor to formerArmy Staff Sgt. Ronald Shurer II, a Secret Service agent who is now fighting a battle with cancer.
"Today is a truly proud and special day for those of us here in the White House because Ron works right here alongside of us on the Secret Service counter-assault team; these are incredible people," Trump told a crowded room filled with Shurer's family, fellow soldiers and Army senior leaders.
Trump then told the story of Shurer's bravery as a Green Beret on a daring April 6, 2008, mission in the Shok Valley of Afghanistan to "hunt down a deadly terrorist, a leader in that world … [who] was in a remote mountain village."
"Ron was among two dozen Special Forces soldiers and 100 Afghan commandos who dropped off by helicopter into Shok Valley, a rocky barren valley, far away from reinforcements," Trump said.

Brett Kavanaugh’s GoFundMe surges, surpassing the money raised for Christine Blasey Ford
The raw emotion and bipartisan outrage sparked by the test vote Friday for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has spilled over into dueling online fundraising efforts.
GoFundMe pages raising money for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford — the woman who testified that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party in 1982 — were flooded with donations after Blasey Ford mentioned the crowdfunding sites during the nationally televised hearing.
By Friday afternoon, a GoFundMe campaign for Blasey Ford had raised nearly $542,000 and had stopped. Donations to one page jumped from $179,000 before her testimony. A separate fund to raise funds to endow an academic chair and/or scholarships in Blasey Ford’s name raised $29,536.
“We are working directly with all campaign organizers and guarantee the funds raised will be transferred directly to the Ford family,” GoFundMe spokeswoman Catherine Cichy told MarketWatch.
Meanwhile supporters of Kavanaugh, who angrily maintained his innocence at Thursday’s hearing, had poured in nearly $607,000 into a GoFundMe campaign, up from just $68,000 a week ago, to raise money “for Brett Kavanaugh’s family to use for security or however they see fit,” the organizer wrote. (Both Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh have said they’ve received death threats.)

Jury: Jehovah's Witnesses must pay $35M to abuse survivor
HELENA, Mont. – The Jehovah's Witnesses must pay $35 million to a woman who says the church's national organization ordered Montana clergy members not to report her sexual abuse as a child at the hands of a congregation member, a jury ruled in a verdict.
A judge must review the penalty, and the Jehovah's Witnesses' national organization — Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York — plans to appeal.
Still, the 21-year-old woman's attorneys say Wednesday's verdict sends a message to the church to report child abuse to outside authorities.
"Hopefully that message is loud enough that this will cause the organization to change its priorities in a way that they will begin prioritizing the safety of children so that other children aren't abused in the future," attorney Neil Smith said Thursday.
The Office of Public Information at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses responded to the verdict with an unsigned statement.
"Jehovah's Witnesses abhor child abuse and strive to protect children from such acts. Watchtower is pursuing appellate review," it said.

NPR: Agency Prepares Asylum-Fraud Cases Against 2,000 Chinese Migrants
Homeland security officials are investigating 3,500 Chinese migrants who used fake stories to win asylum in the United States and 10,000 of their chain-migration relatives who subsequently migrated into the United States.
An NPR report quotes an unidentified Chinese migrant — identified as “Lawrence” — who helped prosecutors in 2012 target the initial group of immigration lawyers and aides. But Lawrence is now refusing to help officials prepare deportation cases against thousands of the Chinese asylum recipients:
“Because targets are different,” he says. “Those Chinese immigrants — those clients … their attorney just tell lie to them, to do that.”
The way Lawrence tells it, he is fighting a larger battle now against government agencies that are mixing up what is legal with what is right. He wants no part in helping the government use the letter of the law to strip asylum from people who won it years ago — even if that means he has to remain in hiding.
According to Lawrence, DHS asked him in 2017 to help resolve more than 2,200 cases.
NPR also spoke to Zhenyi Li, one of the 3,500 migrants who invented a story of persecution to win asylum and citizenship.

President Trump Saving 2nd Amendment from 'People Like Hillary Clinton'
With Justice Brett Kavanaugh now on the Supreme Court, President Donald Trump continues making good on his pledge to use Supreme Court nominations to save the Second Amendment from “people like Hillary Clinton.”
During an October 9, 2016, presidential debate, Trump said, “I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia. … People that will respect the Constitution of the United States. And I think that this is so important–also, the Second Amendment, which is totally under siege by people like Hillary Clinton.
Trump made clear that his Supreme Court picks will “respect the Second Amendment and what it stands for, and what it represents.”

Sen. Collins Flooded with Tweets Threatening Death, Violence — Twitter Does Nothing
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) faced a torrent of death threats and abuse on Twitter following her declaration that she would vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, and her remarks in defense of the presumption of innocence. So far, Twitter has taken no action, allowing the threats against a sitting Senator to remain on the platform.
Multiple Twitter users said they wished to “punch” Sen. Collins.
At least one tweeter called for her death.
Others simply bombarded Sen. Collins with abuse.
Smelly, smelly GOP c*nt
— Shelly (@shmadge) October 6, 2018
@SenatorCollins is a feckless c*nt who has determined her legacy as a supporter of sexual predators and voted her party of hate over truth and justice. May she rot in hell
— Harlan (@HarlanDG) October 6, 2018
Twitter has been slow to respond to death threats against Republicans in the past, at times taking weeks to remove the threatening content. The platform’s double standards can also be seen in the way it handles complaints of abuse against conservatives and individuals linked to conservatives.

A Viewer Writes: News & Media | Coastal Realtors | MD Eastern Shore Real Estate
I got a large glossy mailer yesterday asking for my vote for Suzana Cain for WCBOE. I looked at who mailed it. It was the Coastal Association of Realtors. Their sending it independently doesn't count as a donation to the candidate. For that they gave her a check for $2000.
I went to the organization's website and saw the others who are endorsed (and paid) by them. These are the same people who endorse Jack Heath and Jake Day. I'm sure that anyone with half a lick of sense can connect the dots.
I'd encourage everyone find out more about these candidates and think why the Realtors and landlords want them in power so badly.

Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver Announces Award of Federal Grant to Develop Pirate's Wharf Property
Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver is pleased to announce that the County has received a federal grant award of $820,000 from the National Parks Service through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) for future development of the property known as "Pirate's Wharf." The grant is subject to approval by the Wicomico County Council.
County officials are tentatively scheduled to meet with the County Council October 16 to discuss acceptance of the grant. If approved, a master planning process would begin this fall, which would include opportunities for public input.
"We are pleased that the National Parks Service and Maryland DNR has chosen to support this project," explained Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver. "The property has such potential to be a quality of life asset for County residents and visitors alike and we look forward to making this become a reality."
A work group established by the County Executive in 2017 recommended public water access, multi-use/low-impact recreational activities and maintenance of the property's natural resources as top priorities to consider in future development.
"'The Pirate's Wharf development project supports the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' mission of creating diverse outdoor recreational opportunities for Maryland citizens and visitors," said Ingrid Brofman, Natural Resources Planner at MD DNR. "This additional access to nature on the beautiful Wicomico River will provide residents enjoyment, along with increased health benefits from walking, kayaking and spending time outdoors."
The LWCF grant requires completion of the project within a four-year period, though County officials are hopeful the project can be completed sooner. Any questions related to the project should be directed to Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism at 410-548-4900.
