Keith Ellison In Heated Battle With Republican Challenger As Poll Shows Candidates Tied In Attorney General Race

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison is in a heated battle with Republican challenger Doug Wardlow as both candidates are tied for the attorney general race in Minnesota, according to a poll released Sunday.

KSTP/SurveyUSA conducted the poll between Sept. 6 and Sept. 8 and found both candidates had 41 percent of support with 14 percent undecided, KSTP reported Sunday. The poll comes less than two months away from the midterms in November.

“Ellison is vulnerable in a way other Democrats are not,” political scientist Steven Schier told KSTP.

Ellison was accused of domestic abuse toward former partner Karen Monahan by Austin Monahan, 25, her son, The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported.

Report: Chain Migration Used to Import Entire Family Villages of Foreigners

The New York Times is admitting that the process known as “chain migration” — whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. — is being used to import entire small villages of extended foreign families.

The Times published a report on two men from India that have used the U.S. legal immigration system to bring their entire extended families to the country for no other reason than the fact that they are related.

The Times reports how one legal immigrant from India was able to eventually bring nearly ten foreign relatives to the country with now more than 90 family members benefiting from chain migration:

The young engineer arrived in America when he was 23 with a good education and little else. He landed a job at a nuclear test site, and built a home in Nevada. Between the 1970s and the mid-1980s, he brought his wife, mother, five sisters and a brother over from India, his native land. [Emphasis added]

In later years, his siblings sponsored family members of their own, and their clan now stretches from Nevada to Florida, New Jersey to Texas — more than 90 Americans nurtured on the strength of one ambitious engineer, Jagdish Patel, 72. [Emphasis added]

Wyoming hunting guide fatally mauled by grizzly bears

A Wyoming hunting guide was fatally mauled and his client was injured when a pair of grizzly bears attacked them Friday, officials said.

Authorities later euthanized two grizzly bears, a mother and a cub, who wildlife managers believe killed guide Mark Uptain and wounded his client Corey Chubon near the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks border, according to USA Today.

“All available evidence indicates that these two bears were the bears involved in the Terrace Mountain attack,” Wyoming Game and Fish Department spokeswoman Rebekah Fitzgerald said in a statement Sunday.

Uptain and Chubon were attacked by bears as they field dressed the elk they had shot Thursday but were only able to find Friday, officials said. The bears “aggressively charged” the men and didn’t touch the dead elk, Teton County officials said.

Bipartisan Letter Demands Info from Google About Data Collection from Children

A bipartisan letter signed by Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) and Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) has requested that Google CEO Sundar Pichai provide more information about Google’s collection of data on children.

“It has come to our attention that the data collection practices of YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, may not be in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). We were alerted to this issue through a complaint filed by a coalition of 23 child and privacy advocacy groups,” declared the letter. “The FTC complaint alleges that Google’s YouTube has collected and shared the personally identifiable information of tens of millions of children in violation of COPPA.”

Reps. Cicilline and Fortenberry went on to declare that despite YouTube’s policies against children under the age of 13 using the website, it still targets young children and babies with cartoon content and doesn’t try to stop children from using the platform with “safeguards.”

Kavanaugh Accuser’s Lawyer Longtime Dem Donor, Defended Clinton, Franken

Debra Katz, the attorney hired by Christine Blasey Ford to represent her and her claim that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh attacked her at a high school party three decades ago, is a longtime Democratic activist and donor. Katz has, in the past, defended men accused of sexual assault by multiple women, including former President Bill Clinton and disgraced former U.S. Senator Al Franken (D-MN).

And she is a part of the “resist” movement, the anti-President Donald Trump crowd. In an October 2017 interview posted on the National Women Law Center’s website, Katz was asked about sexual misconduct cases.

“Today, in your practice, have you noticed an increase in these kinds of cases or complaints? Why do you think that is?” Emily Martin, vice president for Education and Workplace Justice, asked Katz in 2017.

Grassley rejects FBI investigation, still pushing for testimony from Christine Blasey Ford

“No other OUTSIDE investigation is necessary for the Cmte to do its investigation,” Grassley tweeted Wednesday morning. “Don’t know why Dems are refusing to cooperate in the cmte’s investigation I hope Dems will join me.”

Justice Dept Vows To Investigate After Second Veritas Video Exposes "Deep Throat" Types Within HHS

The Department of Justice on Wednesday said it would look into allegations of "misuse of government resources to advance personal interests" after James O'Keefe's Project Veritas released a second video this week exposing "deep state" federal employees pursuing socialist agendas while on the clock at their government jobs.

In the latest undercover video, DOJ paralegal and Democratic Socialists of America member, Allison Hrabar, reveals that there is "a lot of talk about how we can, like, resist from the inside." She discusses a fellow DSA member working from within the Department of Agriculture who is "slowing down" the process by which people are eliminated from the food stamp program.

PV Journalist: “…she mailed it to you in like physical snail mail like post office and then you like got it. That’s like awesome.”

Schubel: “Yeah. It’s kind of like the Nixon, “deep throat” type of thing.”

"We have a member who works for the people who distribute food stamps, and they can, like, take that away, and they’re slowing what they do… What they’re doing means that people are going to be able to stay on food stamps for another month or two, which is, like, really important," Hrabar said.

Democrats will impose massive tax hikes if they win Congress

If Democrats take control of Congress in November, they will attempt to impose massive tax hikes in 2019.

With the midterms less than two months away, the Left has vowed to undo the Trump tax cuts as soon as they can and are already pushing new, trillion-dollar-a-year tax hikes. For instance, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has promised to undo the tax reform legislation as soon as possible, even comparing it to Armageddon. Not to be outdone, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., referred to the bill as a “stunning deception.”

While this rhetoric may play well with the liberal base, it is far from the truth. In the real world, the tax reform legislation, known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, has been a net positive for taxpayers, with 90 percent of wage earners seeing increased take-home pay. Thanks to the TCJA, a family of four with an annual income of $73,000 will see a tax cut of over $2,000, a 58 percent reduction in federal taxes. This same family of four will see almost $45,000 in higher take-home pay over the next decade, according to the Heritage Foundation.

The tax cuts have grown the economy, and businesses across the country have responded by giving their employees bonuses and pay raises and increasing retirement contributions, child care, and adoption benefits. Job openings are at a record high, while the unemployment rate is at an 18-year low. Quarterly GDP hit 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018 and is projected by the Atlanta Fed to remain strong at 3.8 percent in the third quarter. Since Trump took office, the economy is averaging over 3 percent growth — a 50 percent increase compared to economic growth under former President Barack Obama.

Police Identify Maryland Shooter As Woman, Say She Shot Herself

Police confirmed Thursday the suspect in the Maryland workplace shooting that left three dead is a woman and that she shot herself twice.

Law enforcement officials believe the suspect killed three people and wounded two others at a Rite Aid distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland, Thursday morning. The suspect reportedly shot herself twice and is alive, albeit hospitalized and in critical condition.

Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler confirmed during a press conference that the shooter used a single weapon and responding law enforcement officers did not fire any shots while making their way through the building and tending to the victims. It is unclear whether the suspect is an employee of Rite Aid.

“There is no additional threat to the community,” Gahler said.

Reasoning About Race

So much of our reasoning about race is both emotional and faulty. In ordinary, as well as professional, conversation, we use terms such as discrimination, prejudice, racial preferences, and racism interchangeably, as if they referred to the same behavior. We can avoid many pitfalls of misguided thinking about race by establishing operational definitions so as to not confuse one behavior with another.

Discrimination can be operationally defined as an act of choice. Our entire lives are spent choosing to do or not to do thousands of activities. Choosing requires non-choosing. When you chose to read this column, you discriminated against other possible uses of your time. When you chose a spouse, you discriminated against other people.

When I chose Mrs. Williams, I systematically discriminated against other women. Much of it was racial. Namely, I discriminated against white women, Asian women, fat women, and women with criminal backgrounds. In a word, I didn’t offer every woman an equal opportunity, and they didn’t offer me an equal opportunity.

One might be tempted to argue that racial discrimination in marriage is trivial and does not have important social consequences, but it does. When high-IQ and high-income people marry other high-IQ and high-income people, and to the extent there is a racial correlation between these characteristics, racial discrimination in mate selection enhances the inequality in the population’s intelligence and income distribution.

There would be greater income equality if high-IQ and high-income people married low-IQ and low-income people. But I imagine that most people would be horrified by the suggestion of a mandate to require the same.

Prejudice is a perfectly useful term, but it is used improperly. Its Latin root is praejudicium—meaning prejudgment. Prejudice can be operationally defined as making decisions on the basis of incomplete information. Because the acquisition of information entails costs, we all seek to economize on information cost.

FBI, DOJ To Defy Trump Order; Redactions Planned As Top 'Deep State' Dems Demand Insubordination

Despite President Trump's Monday order for the "immediate declassification" of sensitive materials related to the Russia investigation, "without redaction," the agencies involved are planning to do so anyway, according to Bloomberg, citing three people familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence are going through a methodical review and can’t offer a timeline for finishing, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly about the sensitive matter. -Bloomberg

Trump ordered the DOJ to release the text messages of former FBI Director James Comey, his deputy Andrew McCabe, now-fired special agent Peter Strzok, former FBI attorney Lisa Page and twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr.

Also ordered released are specific pages from the FBI's FISA surveillance warrant application on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, as well as interviews with Ohr.

The DOJ and the FBI are expected to submit proposed redactions to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence - which will prepare a package for Trump to sign off on.

"When the president issues such an order, it triggers a declassification review process that is conducted by various agencies within the intelligence community, in conjunction with the White House counsel, to seek to ensure the safety of America’s national security interests," a Justice Department spokesman said in a statement. "The department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are already working with the Director of National Intelligence to comply with the president’s order."

The agencies are likely to cite national security concerns over revealing classified "sources and methods" pertaining to the Russia investigation - which will put them in direct conflict with Trump's order. Trump, as president, has the power to override the agencies and declassify material on his own.

Trump's order to release the documents comes after months of requests from GOP lawmakers, while the DOJ has repeatedly denied their requests for more transparency.

Maryland Fishing Report: September 19

For those who work hard, a day off is a precious opportunity to spend time the way we want. Few activities afford us the peace to be had dangling a line in the water and being with our thoughts. Sometimes fate smiles on us and we actually have one of those days where everything works in our favor.

Some upcoming events offer some opportunities for anglers of all ages.

National Hunting and Fishing Day will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Washington County Izaak Walton League in Clear Spring. Maryland Department of Natural Resources staff will be there to run a casting clinic and answer questions about fishing around the state, along with shooting sports demos and hunter safety clinics.

The Second Annual Rod and Reef Slam Tournament will be held Sept. 22 at various artificial and restored oyster reef sites along the Eastern Shore. This is a catch, release and photo tournament.

Note to anglers: The Talbot County section of Bill Burton Fishing Pier State Park will be closed to the public until further notice while the staff installs new lighting fixtures. The trails and parking lot will remain open.

Forecast Summary: Sept. 19-25

As we leave the remnants of Hurricane Florence in our rearview mirror and the first day of fall comes this weekend, the fishing pattern will be similar to last week. The cool, rainy and windy weather has kept water temperatures cool and well mixed, providing favorable conditions for rockfish. Anglers should continue to seek the best combination of clear, cool and oxygenated waters, which will be evenly mixed from the surface down into deeper waters.

At the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration buoys, water temperatures are cool and should remain stable all week, with Annapolis and Gooses Reef both at 78 degrees, and Point Lookout at 79 degrees. Expect poor water clarity from the high flows coming from most rivers and streams. The Susquehanna River’s muddy water will likely extend below Swan Point with poor water clarity also found at Annapolis and Gooses Reef. There will be above average tidal currents Thursday through Tuesday as a result of the full moon Sept. 26.

For the full weekly fishing conditions summary in your area, please be sure to check out Click Before You Cast.

Upper Chesapeake Bay

Despite some breezy conditions over the weekend, sunny skies prevailed and a few fishermen found places to tuck in and fish. The lower Susquehanna River is running hard as flows from the Conowingo Dam are brisk, and may increase if the upper Susquehanna watershed gets a lot of rain. Despite these conditions, there is some decent action for striped bass by casting topwater lures, crankbaits and swimbaits.

Waters remain stained and chumming, chunking or live lining spot are the most productive ways to dial in on striped bass suspended along channel edges. Swan, Love and Podickory points continue to be go-to locations as are the Francis Scott Key Bridge and Bay Bridge. Bluefish are showing up in chum slicks and also are cutting up spot baits.

There is some exciting breaking fish action as a mix of bluefish and small striped bass chase schools of bay anchovies. The mouth of the Chester River and Magothy River have been two places where a lot of this action is taking place. Jigging underneath the surface action can often produce larger striped bass.

The Bay Bridge is providing plenty of striped bass action with some bluefish thrown in for good measure. The rockfish have been suspended at about 20 feet but are being lured to the surface at times when bait is being swept along in the swift currents. Jigging, casting topwater lures chunking and live lining spot have all been good ways to fish.

Spot can still be found in the shallower parts of the tidal rivers and the west side of the Bay Bridge in about 15 feet of water on hard bottom. White perch are also in the mix as are channel catfish. Cooler water temperatures have also lured white perch back to shallower shoreline structure areas as well as striped bass in the mornings and evenings.

Bombshell: Kavanaugh Accuser’s Salacious High School Yearbooks Scrubbed

Christine Blasey Ford’s yearbooks describe wild sex parties, blackouts, erotic male dancers

Christine Blasey Ford’s high school yearbooks, which are filled with references to drunken promiscuous parties where the attendees were not able to remember what happened, have been scrubbed from the Internet.

The Cult of the First Amendment blog was able to save copies of the yearbooks before they disappeared.

Christine Blasey Ford claims that Judge Brett Kavanaugh “physically and sexually assaulted” her during a party in the early 80’s when she was 15 and Kavanaugh was 17, although two other people Ford claims were present when the assault happened have denied that it ever happened.

Ford’s yearbooks, which cover her sophomore, junior and senior years, the exact time frame when she claims the assault happened, portray a debauched environment of constant binge drinking and partying.

OC Resident Holds Would-Be Burglar At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

OCEAN CITY — A Pennsylvania man was arrested on malicious destruction of property and intoxicated endangerment charges last week after allegedly attempting to break into a downtown residence and being held at gunpoint by the resident until police arrived.

Around 9 p.m. last Thursday, Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officers were dispatched to a residence on Dolphin Street for a reported breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, three OCPD officers retrieved their patrol rifles from their vehicles, while a fourth officer drew his handgun.

While the officers were approaching the residence, a female victim stepped outside and told them there was a man attempting to break in the back door and her husband was holding the suspect at gunpoint. All four officers entered the residence and found the male victim holding a black semi-automatic pistol and pointing it toward the back door.

OCPD officers observed a suspect, later identified as Aaron Dill, 38, of York, Pa., at the back door and licking the glass. According to police reports, the OCPD officers pointed their weapons at Dill and gave him commands to get on the ground. The officers also ordered the male victim to put down his gun and he complied, putting the handgun on the coffee table.

Donald Trump Orders National Biodefense-Strengthening Strategy

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum Tuesday updating the U.S. biodefense strategy that he said will “strengthen our nation’s defenses against biological threats to health and safety.”

“The implementation of these actions will promote a more efficient, coordinated, and accountable biodefense enterprise,” President Trump announced Tuesday. “Taken together, they represent a new direction in the nation’s defense against biological threats.”

Trump continued:

The National Biodefense Strategy builds on lessons learned from past biological incidents, such as the 2001 anthrax attacks, the 2009 influenza pandemic, and the 2014 West Africa Ebola epidemic, to develop a more resilient and effective biodefense enterprise. Biological threats emanate from many sources, and they know no borders. They have great potential to disrupt the economy, exact a toll on human life, and tear at the very fabric of society. My administration will take steps to improve our understanding of the risks posed by biological threats and to respond to them effectively and efficiently.

UMBC students protest over sexual assault, university response

Students flood Maryland-Baltimore County administration building to demand new policies around campus sexual assault.

Students at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, stormed the administration building and confronted the president this week, irate over the institution’s handling of sexual assaults. They accused officials of defending rapists and demanded that a contingent of students be removed or suspended.

The display stems from a federal lawsuit filed last week by two former UMBC students who said they were raped but that their reports were bungled or ignored. In one case, a student alleged that UMBC police discouraged her from filing a formal complaint and that the institution rushed the investigation. The other student said she was gang-raped by three UMBC baseball players who, she said, escaped punishment. A lawyer for the two women (whom Inside Higher Ed is not naming as victims of sexual assault) did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In addition to suing UMBC administrators and the University System of Maryland, the plaintiffs have named as defendants several Baltimore County officials, including the Baltimore County state’s attorney. They also named the county police department, which was the subject of an explosive 2016 BuzzFeed investigationthat found it did not thoroughly investigate rape cases and had labeled 34 percent of them “unfounded.” The national average is only 7 percent. BuzzFeed’s report prompted a review of department practices and cases.

Students began their protest on the UMBC grounds Monday evening and moved to the administration building -- over the weekend, the campus had been papered with posters proclaiming, “UMBC protects rapists.”

Hillary: Kavanaugh’s Accuser Deserves ‘the Benefit of the Doubt’

Hillary Clinton weighed into the controversy over Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the woman who's accusing him of sexual assault 35 years ago, Christine Ford.

Kavanaugh's accuser, Clinton said, deserves "the benefit of the doubt."

"I mean, there can’t be one set of rules for Democrats and one set of rules for Republicans. That’s one of the reasons why people don’t have any confidence in the Congress. How can you? You don’t know what’s going to happen from day to day. I remember back in the Thomas hearing when Senator Byrd was asked what he was going to do, and he said in a situation like this we should give the benefit of the doubt to the court and the country. And that’s what the Republicans should be doing right now, from the White House down Pennsylvania avenue to the Senate, give the benefit of the doubt to the court and the country."

President Kennedy's Nutrition Physician, Dr. Max Jacobson

The Real Story of Orthomolecular Medicine in the White House

In the fall of 1960, shortly before the first debate with Vice President Richard M. Nixon, Senator John F. Kennedy grew so exhausted from campaigning that he was slurring his speech. Life magazine photographer Mark Shaw suggested an appointment with Max Jacobson, MD. At the appointed time, Kennedy slipped away from the Secret Service at the Carlyle Hotel and took a cab to Jacobson's office.

Upon hearing his medical history and what medications he was taking, Dr. Jacobson gave Kennedy his first treatment, an intramuscular injection of vitamin B-complex, A, E, D, B-12, plus 10 mg. of amphetamine to counter the fatigue brought on by his hectic campaign schedule and adrenal condition, as well as an intravenous injection of calcium and vitamin C. Kennedy responded that his muscle weakness had disappeared and he felt calm, cool and very alert.

After the first debate with Kennedy, Nixon commented that he had never seen Kennedy looking so healthy. The same could not be said for Mr. Nixon. Nixon's mother called to ask if he was feeling all right. On the other hand, JFK responded so well to Jacobson's treatments that he asked the doctor to move to Washington. Max turned him down. The Kennedys wanted Max exclusively to themselves but Max was unwilling to abandon his busy private practice, especially his two hundred multiple sclerosis patients with nowhere else to turn.

Broaddrick: FBI Probe Ford Allegation? Then ‘Investigate My RAPE Allegations’ Against Clinton

$364M Ponzi scheme funded 3 men's luxury lifestyles including jewelry, high-end cars and $25M on casino gambling, feds say

Three men were indicted Wednesday for allegedly victimizing hundreds of people across the U.S. in a $364 million Ponzi scheme.

Kevin Merrill, 53, of Maryland; Jay Ledford, 54, of Texas and Nevada; and Cameron Jezierski, 28, of Texas, were charged by federal prosecutors for an alleged scheme that dates back to January 2013.

According to the U.S. Attorney Office for the District of Maryland, Merrill and Ledford invited people to buy consumer debt portfolios and falsely claimed that they’d profit from the debt payments.

Prosecutors claim the defendants falsely asserted the money they paid investors were "proceeds" from collections or sales, and that the money came from other investors. The men created impostor companies and incorporated them in Texas, authorities said.

"Most of these investors are just learning that they have been victimized," U.S. Attorney Robert Hur said in a news release. "The effects of this kind of fraud can be devastating."

The men concealed their diversion of $73 million in investors funds to host a "lavish lifestyle," which included purchasing multiple properties, jewelry, more than 20 high-end cars and a boat, the attorney's office alleged.

Ron Paul Rants That Republicans Share The Blame For Socialism's Comeback

According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos survey, 70 percent of Americans, including about 50 percent of Republicans, support Medicare for all, the latest incarnation of single-payer health care. Republican support for a health plan labeled “Medicare for all” is not surprising considering that Republican politicians support Medicare and that one of their attacks on Obamacare was that it would harm the program. Furthermore, the biggest expansion of Medicare since its creation - the Part D prescription drug program - occurred under a conservative president working with a conservative Congress.

Conservative Republicans do propose reforming Medicare to reduce its costs, but their proposals are always framed as “saving Medicare,” and most reform plans increase spending. Few conservative Republicans would dare advocate allowing young people to opt out of paying Medicare taxes in exchange for agreeing to forgo Medicare benefits.

Many conservative Republicans favor other government interventions into health care, including many features of Obamacare. In fact, Obamacare’s individual mandate originated as a conservative proposal and was once championed by many leading Republicans. Many other Republicans simply lack the courage to repeal Obamacare, so they say they only want to repeal the “unpopular” parts of the law. It would not be surprising if we soon heard conservatives and Republican politicians talk about defending Obamacare from supporters of socialized medicine.

The same dynamic at work in health care is at work in other areas. For example, the same conservative administration and Congress that created Medicare Part D also dramatically expanded federal control of education with “No Child Left Behind.” Conservative Republicans who (rightly) fight against deficit spending when a Democrat sits in the White House decide that “deficits don’t matter” when the president has an “R” next to his name.

Hillary Clinton: GOP Will Appear to 'Insult' Kavanaugh Accuser if FBI Doesn't Investigate

"I Don't Have An Attorney General": Trump Blasts Sessions, Says FBI Is A "Cancer In Our Country"

Ever since Attorney General Jeff Sessions decided to recuse himself from overseeing the DOJ's probe into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia back in the Spring of 2017 - a decision that set the stage for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller - President Trump has subjected his AG to an unceasing wave of public abuse and belittling comments, all the while suggesting that Sessions might soon be cut loose thanks to his immense disloyalty to his boss.

But Trump outdid himself on Wednesday during a freewheeling interview with the Hill where he declared that "I don't have an attorney general" and added that he's "not happy" with Sessions' performance on a number of fronts beyond the Russia probe.

Trump went on to speculate that Sessions' "very poor" performance during the nominating process went on to impact his performance as attorney general. Though Trump said Sessions' performance is especially disappointing in light of the senator's early support of the Trump campaign.

Third Person that Kavanaugh Accuser Claims Was at Party Denies Incident

A third high school student Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford claimed attended a party more than 35 years ago where the future Judge Kavanaugh attacked her denied any memory of the alleged incident in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, CNN reported Tuesday.

CNN obtained a letter from Patrick J. Smyth, a Georgetown Prep alum who graduated in Kavanaugh’s class, to Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). The letter was penned after Ford apparently identified Smyth as “PJ” – another teenager who was one of around five people at a drunken gathering in a Montgomery County, Maryland, home in or around 1982.

“I understand that I have been identified by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person she remembers as ‘PJ’ who supposedly was present at the party she described in her statements to the Washington Post,” the letter, penned by Smyth’s attorney, Eric Bruce, reads. “I am issuing this statement today to make it clear to all involved that I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh.”

The Heck With You, Harvard: All-Male Student Social Club Decides Not To Allow Females After All

An all-male so-called “final club” at Harvard College has decided not to allow female undergraduates to join, reversing a decision to let females in and thus escape penalties Harvard is threatening.

The Fox Club is one of several private social clubs associate with the school that historically allowed in only male undergraduates. But Harvard is cracking down on single-sex organizations, threatening their members with sanctions such as not being able to serve as captain of an undergraduate sports team and not being eligible to get an endorsement from the school to apply for a Rhodes scholarship.

Bill Clinton Accuser Wants FBI To Probe Violent Rape Claim After Hillary Bobbles Kavanaugh Question

Hours after Hillary Clinton sidestepped a question involving her husband's rape allegations, one of Bill Clinton's accusers, Juanita Broaddrick, demanded an FBI investigation into her claim that the former President committed a "forcible, brutal rape" in a Little Rock, Arkansas hotel room on April 25, 1978 in which she says Clinton nearly bit her lip off.

Broaddrick described the incident in a 2016 interview:

And he grabbed me again, very forcefully. And started biting on my top lip. And this was extremely painful. I thought he was going to bite my lip off. And that’s when he pushed me back onto the bed.
...
I was completely dressed. I had a skirt and a blouse. He tore the waist of my skirt. And then he ripped my pantyhose. And he raped me. It was very vicious. I was just pinned down… I did not know what to do. I was so frightened. -Juanita Broaddrick, 2016

Something About This Email Message Doesn’t Sound Right

Beware the email message from the Nigerian prince, especially if he’s writing from the superintendent’s office on an AOL account.

A Nigerian national who came to the United States on a 16-day visitor’s visa and never left has pleaded guilty to multiple charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft after hacking the school district in Glastonbury, Connecticut and collecting the W-2 financial information of 1,600 employees. He was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer to 32 months in federal prison and ordered to repay $36,926 to the Internal Revenue Service.

Daniel Adekunle Ojo, 34, who arrived in the United States in May 2016 and stayed, eventually marrying, fathering a child, and taking up residency in Durham, North Carolina, is said to have sent an email message disguised as a query from the “executive assistant to the assistant superintendent” in which he requested tax information.

When Ojo acquired the information, which includes employees’ Social Security numbers, he used it to file 112 phony 1040 tax-return forms with the IRS, prosecutors say.

The returns would have netted Ojo $596,897 in refunds, but according to a report in the Connecticut Post, the scam only netted six processed returns of $36,926, the amount the court demanded Ojo repay.

'Guilty Until Proven Innocent'

On Monday, we celebrated Constitution Day, the 231st anniversary of the signing of our Constitution at the Philadelphia Convention in 1787. That day also marked the 22nd anniversary of The Patriot Post — the first and thus oldest news digest on the Internet.

Unfortunately, it has been a week when our Constitution and the Liberty it enshrines have been subject to yet another ludicrous assault. This attack came, of course, from Democrat Party leaders, and it went far beyond their usual relentless grind to undermine constitutional Rule of Law and to subordinate it with a so-called “living constitution.”

In my column two weeks ago, “Obstruction of Justice: The Demos’ Kavanaugh Blockade,” I noted, “The left-leaning (to put it kindly) American Bar Association awarded Judge Brett Kavanaugh its highest endorsement, a unanimous ‘Well-Qualified’ rating. According to ABA guidelines, ‘The rating of "Well Qualified” is reserved for those found to merit the Committee’s strongest affirmative endorsement.’“

I wrote further, "This endorsement used to be the gold standard for Democrats considering Republican judicial nominees for the Supreme Court.

So what’s the holdup on Donald Trump’s Kavanaugh nomination to SCOTUS — a nominee who has already been through six intense and exhaustive FBI background investigations associated with high-level judicial and presidential appointments between 1993 to 2018, including congressional hearings for previous federal judicial appointments?”

The answer is obvious:

Pelosi gushes over 'raging millennial' Castro, says Obama got 'climate' advice from Cuba

Nancy Pelosi thinks the seriousness with which China and Cuba are supposedly tackling “climate change” is just great.

Never mind it may just be the communists’ way to stifle their capitalist rivals.

During a speech last week at the University of San Francisco during the Global Climate Summit conference, the House Minority Leader — and presumptive House Speaker in 2019, according to the mainstream media — praised the two communist countries for their support of Democrat efforts to curb “climate change.”

Hogan Administration Awards Nearly $60 Million in Grants for Local Roads

Delivers on Promise to Return Highway User Revenues; Nearly $20M Increase From FY 2018

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
The Hogan administration today announced it has awarded $57.9 million in grants to improve local roads across the state. The grants were distributed to all 23 counties, Baltimore City, and other municipalities based on the formula for the distribution of Highway User Revenues (HURs). The funding represents a nearly $20 million increase over fiscal year 2018, and continues to make good on Governor Larry Hogan’s pledge to return HURs to local jurisdictions for critical road improvements.

“Since taking office, our administration has been committed to returning Highway User Revenues to local jurisdictions across Maryland, which is exactly where they belong,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “These grants provide our counties and municipalities with vital funding to keep our roads and citizens safe.”

The grants add to the nearly $178 million in Highway User Revenues that Maryland counties and municipalities are set to receive in fiscal year 2019. Jurisdictions must use the grants for transportation projects.

For the past four years, Governor Hogan has fought to return HURs to past levels after being severely reduced by the previous administration. Despite these efforts, the funding has been cut significantly and consistently by the Maryland General Assembly.

The Hogan administration has invested $16 billion in the state’s draft Consolidated Transportation Plan for fiscal years 2019–2024. Across the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), 816 projects totaling $8.8 billion are under construction - including highways, toll facilities, the Port of Baltimore, and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.

“We continue to invest in critical transportation projects that benefit residents and businesses across Maryland,” said MDOT Secretary Pete K. Rahn.

Congressman Andy Harris Supports Providing $1 Billion Toward Opioid Crisis

WASHINGTON, DC: On Wednesday, September 19, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded over $1 billion to target the opioid crisis around the country. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will provide millions of dollars in the form of opioid response grants to combat the devastating crisis.

Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01), a physician and member of the Health and Human Services subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement in response to the announcement of funds to target the opioid crisis:

“As a physician and member of the Committee on Appropriations, I am proud to support the Department of Health and Human Services in providing over $1 billion to help communities and healthcare providers combat the opioid epidemic. These grants will provide for medication-assisted addiction treatment, first responders treating overdoses, and increasing overall access to overdose treatment.

The opioid epidemic claims thousands of lives in Maryland each year, and today we have sent the American people a clear message that finding a solution to prevent this ongoing public health crisis is a top priority for the federal government. Although there is still much to be done, I remain committed to working closely with President Trump, Governor Hogan, and my colleagues in Congress to ultimately end this public health crisis.”
