Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she tells Democratic Party congressional candidates to “do whatever you have to do” and “just win, baby” when asked about those who have said they will not support her as leader if they are elected.
Pelosi said, “I haven’t asked one person for a vote. I haven’t asked a candidate or an incumbent for a vote. I know how important it is for us to win the election because I see up close and personal what the Republicans and this president are doing. I do not think the opponents should select the leaders of our party. The Republicans are spending tens of millions of dollars against me because they’re afraid of me. I out raise them in the political arena, I outsmart them at the negotiating table and because I’m a woman who is going to be at the seat of that table. That for me is very important. If Hillary Clinton had won, it would be different but I’m not yielding that.”

Pelosi: Trump's Whole Thing Is 'Make America White Again'
Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said President Donald Trump’s “whole thing is ‘Make America White Again.'”
Pelosi said, “We’re going backward, and the president with all of his statements is the master of the dog whistle. Everything he has done, whether it’s taking babies out of the arms of their moms, whether it’s issues that relate to health care in our country, access to services and the rest is — his whole thing is ‘Make America White Again.’ That’s his thing. He can say a nice thing today in a tweet, but the fact is his actions speak louder than his words.”

Keith Ellison Facing Violent Domestic Abuse Allegations Less Than A Week Before Minnesota Primaries
A person claiming to be the son of a prominent Minnesota-based environmental activist is accusing Rep. Keith Ellison of physically assaulting his mother while the two were in a relationship.
Ellison physically assaulted and psychologically abused Sierra Club activist Karen Monahan while the two were in a relationship, according to Austin Aslim Monahan, who claims to be Karen’s son. Austin Monahan also claims his mother convinced him not to make the incidents public because it would not be in her best interests.
“My brother and I watched our mom come out of pure hell after getting out of her relationship with Keith Ellison,” Austin wrote in a Facebook post Saturday before detailing the nature of the abuse. His post comes as Ellison runs attorney general in Minnesota.

Lindsay Graham: 'These Investigations Against Trump Were Corrupt to the Core'
On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, which has turned into special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, was “corrupt at the core.”
Partial transcript as follows:
MACCALLUM: I want to ask you before I let you go a non-foreign policy question with regards to Bruce Ohr, who is a Department of Justice official Who worked under Sally Yates and just a few offices down from the head of the Justice Department. He’s becoming a much more central figure in what looks to be the initiation of this Russia investigation. What do you know about that?
GRAHAM: Well, he was the number four guy at the Department of Justice. His wife worked for Fusion GPS, the firm hired by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign to get — to find dirt on Trump. They hired Christopher Steele, a former British agent, who went to Russia to gather a dossier that I think is a bunch of political garbage.

Devin Nunes: Clinton Campaign Colluded with 'Nearly Every' Top Official at the DOJ and FBI
Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton’s “colluded” with “nearly every” top official in the Justice Department and FBI.
Nunes said, “What’s come out now, Maria, is that he has been the go-between Christopher Steele, so once Christopher Steele was terminated as a source, for doing all things like talking to the media, at the behest of Glenn Simpson, remember he was working for Glenn Simpson Fusion GPS, who are working for the Clinton Campaign. Christopher Steele was fired, a lot of this information wasn’t shared with the FISA court, especially because of the fact that Christopher Steele was desperate that Donald Trump not become president. After that happened, Bruce Ohr, one of the top lawyers in the Department of Justice, kept continually meeting and providing information from Christopher Steele to who? The FBI.”

Iran to bring back enriched uranium from Russia
Iran announced on Saturday that it will bring back a second batch of the 20%-enriched uranium which it sent to Russia in 2015 as part of its commitments under the nuclear deal signed with world powers.
The uranium that is return is to be used in the Tehran Research Reactor, according to a report in the semiofficial Fars news agency.
"When we were inking the nuclear deal, we stopped production of 20% fuel and deposited the excessive fuel in Russia in nearly 10 batches. We received the first batch nearly seven months ago and the second batch is about to be transferred back to Iran. Any of these batches can be used for nearly one year and therefore, we have 20% fuel for Tehran Reactor for at least 7 to 8 years," said a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi.
"If the fuel is sold to us, we do not need to produce it by ourselves," he continued.
"If the nuclear deal remains alive, the other sides should sell us the fuel and if the nuclear deal dies, then we would feel unimpeded to produce the 20% fuel ourselves," Kamalvandi said.

Massachusetts Police Chiefs Criticize Elizabeth Warren For Her Comment That ‘Our Criminal Justice System’ Is ‘Racist’ From ‘Front To Back’
On Thursday, during a town hall at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was asked about her recent comments that "our criminal justice system" is "racist."
The following is her exchange with a man named Wesley:
WESLEY: As a young American of color, your recent comments that you made in New Orleans are just a little bit concerning to me. You said that the justice system, and I just wanna quote you so I say it right, "is racist from front to back."
I'm just concerned that your rhetoric there is inciting some of the division that you claim that the president is purporting. You say that Donald Trump undermines the justice system, but it highly concerns me that you made a blanket statement that the over 400 federal judges of color, thousands of law enforcement officers of color, and even the new black police commissioner of Boston of color are racist.

Media covering (up) Dianne Feinstein’s major spy scandal
The mainstream media desperately want to deflect attention away from a huge spy scandal involving the ranking Democrat senator on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. For two decades, Senator Dianne Feinstein employed a Chinese spy on her staff. And when it was discovered, she was notified, the spy was fired (but not prosecuted), and the entire matter was kept secret from the public.
Only 5 years later did the news appear in public to almost no fanfare, bured deep in a Politico story on other matters.
The reason is obvious. The contrast with the treatment received by the Trump campaign when a Russian spy was merely suspected (on the basis of what appear to be ginned-up concerns over Carter Page, an FBI informant) is so stark as to raise serious question as to the integrity of the FBI counterintelligence operation. The NSA’s ability to monitor every form of electronic communications except ham radio[i] was mobilized to spy on the presidential campaign of the opposition party to the Obama administration. No notification to the campaign was offered, unlike Feinstein’s treatment.
The entire incident is being presented to the public as no big deal. That is a classic example of the fake news of which President Trump so vocally complains. Fortunately, Mark Thiessen checked out the real dimensions of the spy operation:
Feinstein insisted, "he never had access to classified or sensitive information or legislative matters" and was immediately fired. In other words: junior staffer, no policy role, no access to secrets, quickly fired -- no big deal.

Exposed: the Deep State's Authorship and Publication of the Dossier
The Internet is full of information, some of it not well researched or considered, but every now and then a star appears on the horizon. To my mind the new star is Yaacov Apelbaum, who, using his considerable technical skills, has produced a masterpiece of well-documented analysis underscoring the nonsensical and partisan nature of the Mueller operation. He compares this effort by the anti-Trumpers to the plot line of the Dreyfus affair, where falsified evidence and suppressed evidence led to Captain Alfred Dreyfus’s conviction for treason.
It’s lengthy and detailed and on a lovely Sunday in summer you may not want to study it completely, but if this subject is of interest to you, I strongly suggest you bookmark the article and study it at your leisure. I cannot do it justice in any summary, but I’ll try to hit the main points.
He concludes, after a long, substantive, technologically adept investigation:
The real dossier story is not the scandalous insinuations that it makes, but rather it’s the funding sources, the teams that worked on it, and its compilation and distribution channels. At peak capacity, the dossier team must have consisted of at least 25 individuals who worked on it for over 6-12 months. Assuming a modest $200 per hour rate per person, some first/business class travel and accommodations, media, consulting, IT, and legal services, this project most have cost an upwards of 5-10 million dollars. According to Simpson’s testimony and documents, Fusion GPS was only paid about a million dollars by the DNC and Clinton campaign, which begs the questions of what was Hakluyt’s [Ed: another private UK intelligence operation closely connected to Hillary Clinton] cut and where did the rest of the money go?

WEST VIRGINIA’S SUPREME COURT IS SO CORRUPT, EVERY JUSTICE FACES IMPEACHMENT
Who presides over the impeachment trial of a state Supreme Court justice if the entire state Supreme Court is being impeached?
It’s an absurd constitutional hypothetical West Virginians are left to grapple with, after the West Virginia House of Delegates Judiciary Committee drafted articles of impeachment against four justices on the state’s highest court.
Five justices sit on the state Supreme Court in West Virginia. The state legislature has drafted articles of impeachment against Chief Justice Margaret Workman and Justices Robin Jean Davis, Beth Walker, and Allen Loughry. The court’s fifth justice, Menis Ketchum, retired in late July. Ketchum will plead guilty to two federal corruption charges on Aug. 29.
Loughry was placed on unpaid administrative leave in June after a state commission lodged a 32-count complaint against him, alleging pervasive violations of the state ethics code. He has since been indicted in federal court for fraud, witness tampering, and making false statements to investigators.

Troopers Arrest Rehoboth Beach Man for Burglary
Alan J. STOLTZFUS
Rehoboth Beach - Delaware State Police have arrested Alan J. Stoltzfus, 26, of Rehoboth Beach for a burglary that took place in the Edgewater Estates development of Rehoboth Beach, Saturday evening.
The investigation began at approximately 6:40 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 when Troopers from Troop 7 responded to the unit block of Lighthouse Dr., in Edgewater Estates, for the report of a male suspect attempting to break in to a residence.
Prior to arriving on scene Troopers received updated information advising that the suspect, who would later be identified as Stoltzfus, had just fled the scene on a bicycle. Responding Troopers located Stoltzfus on Lighthouse Dr. on the bicycle at which time he was stopped. As he was being taken in to custody a brief struggle ensued which resulted in one of the Troopers being kicked by Stoltzfus. The Trooper did not sustain any injuries as a result of the altercation. Stoltzfus was ultimately secured and then transported to Troop 7.
Further investigation determined that Stoltzfus made forcible entry into an enclosed rear patio, and then broke a glass door window allowing access into the main portion of the residence. It was determined however, that Stoltzfus fled the scene prior to entering the main portion of the residence.
Once at Troop 7 Stoltzfus was charged with one count each of Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief Under $1000.00.
Stoltzfus was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $12,500.00 secured bail.
A NURSE IN GERMANY SENDS A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD
Just in case you don't think President Trump is doing the right thing! Read this!
*\"Yesterday, at the hospital, we had a meeting about how the situation here and at the other Munich hospitals are unsustainable.
*Clinics cannot handle the number of migrant medical emergencies, so they are starting to send everything to the main hospitals.
*Many Muslims are refusing treatment by female staff, and we women are now refusing to go among those migrants!
*Relations between the staff and migrants are going from bad to worse. Since last weekend, migrants going to the hospitals must be accompanied by police with K-9 units.
*Many migrants have AIDS, syphilis, open TB and many exotic diseases that we in Europe do not know how to treat. If they receive a prescription to the pharmacy, they suddenly learn they have to pay cash. This leads to unbelievable outbursts, especially when it is about drugs for the children. They abandon the children with pharmacy staff with the words: So, cure them yourselves! So the police are not just guarding the clinics and hospitals, but also the large pharmacies.
* We ask openly where are all those who welcomed the migrants in front of TV cameras with signs at train stations? Yes, for now, the border has been closed, but a million of them are already here and we will definitely not be able to get rid of them.
*Until now, the number of unemployed in Germany was 2.2 million. Now it will be at least 3.5 million. Most of these people are completely unemployable. Only a small minimum of them have any education. What is more, their women usually do not work at all. I estimate that one in ten is pregnant. Hundreds of thousands of them have brought along infants and little kids under six, many emaciated and very needy.
If this continues and Germany re-opens its borders, I am going home to the Czech Republic. Nobody can keep me here in this situation, not even for double the salary back home. I came to Germany to work, not to Africa or the Middle East!
Even the professor who heads our department told us how sad it makes him to see the cleaning woman, who has cleaned every day for years for 800 euros and then meets crowds of young men in the hallways who just wait with their hands outstretched, waiting for free, and when they don't get it they throw a fit.
I really don't need this! But I am afraid that if I return home, at some point it will be the same in the Czech Republic. If the Germans, with their systems, cannot handle this, then, guaranteed, back home will be total chaos....
*You - who have not come in contact with these people have absolutely no idea what kind of badly behaved desperados these people are, and how Muslims act superior to our staff, regarding their religious accommodation.
*For now, the local hospital staff have not come down with the diseases these people brought here, but with so many hundreds of patients every day of this is just a question of time.
*In a hospital near the Rhine, migrants attacked the staff with knives after they had handed over an 8-month-old on the brink of death, who they'd dragged across half of Europe for three months. The child died two days later, despite having received top care at one of the best pediatric clinics in Germany. The pediatric physician had to undergo surgery and the two nurses are recovering in the ICU.
Nobody has been punished. The local press is forbidden to write about it, so we can only inform you through email. What would have happened to a German if he had stabbed the doctor and nurses with a knife? Or if he had flung his own syphilis-infected urine into a nurse's face and so threatened her with infection? At a minimum he would have gone straight to jail and later to court. With these people so far, nothing has happened.
And so I ask: Where are all those greeters and receivers from the train stations? Sitting pretty at home, enjoying their uncomplicated, safe lives. If it were up to me, I would round up all those greeters and bring them here first to our hospitals emergency ward as attendants! Then in to one of the buildings housing the migrants, so they can really look after them there themselves, without armed police and police dogs, who, sadly today, are in every hospital here in Bavaria.\"

Twenty Shot in Chicago, One Fatally
Twenty people were shot in Chicago on Friday and early Saturday morning, one of them fatally. Just a week after the city experienced its deadliest weekend in years with 74 shootings, the violence on the South and West sides claimed another young victim, an 18-year-old man shot in the head in a Brighton Park alley on Friday. Throughout the rest of the day and into Saturday, several other teenagers were shot. A 15-year-old boy and his 17-year-old cousin were shot while walking to a store on the city’s West Side. A 12-year-old girl was among several other minors injured in the spate of shootings throughout the city. “Chicago is a scary place to be. Even I’m scared to walk to the corner store,” Genice Hines, the mother of one of the teenage victims, told the Chicago Tribune. The latest flare-up in violence comes as the police department prepares to send an additional 600 officers into the city’s most dangerous districts in a bid to cut down on shootings.
David Stockman: The World Economy Is At An Epochal Pivot
A 'great reset' approaches...
David Stockman warns that the global economy has reached an "epochal pivot", a moment when the false prosperity created from $trillions in printed money by the world's central banks lurches violently into reverse.
There are few people alive who understand the global economy and its (mis)management better than David Stockman -- former director of the OMB under President Reagan, former US Representative, best-selling author of The Great Deformation, and veteran financier -- which is why his perspective is not to be dismissed lightly. He knows intimiately how how our political and financial systems work, as well as what their vulnerabilties are.
And Stockman thinks the top for the current asset price bubble era is in -- specifically, he thinks it hit its apex in January 2018.As this "Everything Bubble" prepares to burst, Stockman estimates the risk of economic crisis is as great, if not greater than, the 2008 Great Financial Crisis because of the radical and unsustainable monetary policy expansion the central banks have pursued over the past decade.

Retail Collapse: Here Are 2018's 57 Biggest Store Closings
Closed storefronts are typical in American cities across shopping malls that once flourished in commercial zones of suburbia are now empty and abandoned.
As the retail apocalypse deepens, more than 3,800 stores are expected to close across the country this year. Department stores like Kmart, Macy’s, Sears, and JCPenney, and retailers including Best Buy, Payless, BCBG, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Bebe have decided to close dozens of locations.
A new report by real estate research firm Reis noticed that shopping malls had not been this empty since 2012, CNBC reported. The vacancy rate at regional and super-regional malls in the U.S. reached 8.6 percent in the second quarter of 2018, up from 8.4 percent in the prior quarter.
The increased vacancy rate is simultaneously occurring while online retailing giant Amazon continues to acquire a more significant share of the consumption pie.
According to Reis, the vacancy rate of malls could significantly jump over the next several years. Even Credit Suisse believes 25 percent of shopping malls will shut their doors by 2022.
As shoppers move online and mall traffic declines, NJ Advance Media has provided a complete and startling list of the 57 biggest retail chains shuttering storefronts as of recent:

Democrats Want Catch-and-Release for all Pregnant Migrants
Pro-migration advocates are trying to reopen a catch-and-release loophole for the growing number of pregnant migrants which has been narrowed by President Donald Trump.
The effort builds on the Democrats’ success in using emotional images of detained migrant parents and their children to undo Trump’s “zero tolerance” border policy, and it may help Democrats gain support among suburban voters who are disturbed by televised coverage of the sometimes-distressing process of deporting migrants.
From mid-December 2017 to early-April 2018, almost 600 pregnant migrants were caught crossing the border, and almost 40 were in detention on April 7, the Department of Homeland Security told Breitbart News. The agency declined to say if the pregnant migrants were returned home or were released into the United States.
The inflow of pregnant migrants in the first quarter of 2018 has jumped to 292 women, up by one-third over 2017 numbers, says a July 13 letter from four Democrat Senators to the Inspector General at DHS who asked for an investigation of the agency’s practices.

TRUMP PRAISES BIKERS FOR HARLEY DAVIDSON BOYCOTT IN STEEL TARIFF DISPUT
U.S. ‘will soon have a level playing field,’ he says
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump backed boycotting American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson Inc (HOG.N) on Sunday, the latest salvo in a dispute between the company and Trump over tariffs on steel.
The Wisconsin-based motorcycle manufacturer announced a plan earlier this year to move production of motorcycles for the European Union from the United States to its overseas facilities to avoid the tariffs imposed by the trading bloc in retaliation for Trump’s duties on steel and aluminum imports.
In response, Trump has criticized Harley Davidson, calling for higher, targeted taxes and threatening to lure foreign producers to the United States to increase competition.

A White, Trump-Voting Charlottesville Survivor Reflects On "An Entire Failed System Propped Up On Lies"
It’s surreal to have lived through an event that is even now being mythologized. It’s nothing short of infuriating to see a mythology growing up that is almost an exact opposite of what actually happened. The lies being told about what happened at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville VA a year ago this weekend are so outrageous and so demonstrably untrue that it makes you question all of history.
What other historical events and movements have we been lied to about? And can you prop up an entire failing system based on lies?
Main Stream Media coverage throughout the country is being dominated by commemorations of the ill-fated rally [Charlottesville making final preparations for anniversary of deadly rally, by Talya Cunningham, WAVY, August 10, 2018]. The media is also eagerly hyping the second “Unite the Right 2” rally in front of the White House even though few participants in the original rally seem to be going [It’s right there in front of the White House.’: Is D.C. ready for Unite the Right? By Caroline Simon, USA Today, August 10, 2018]. The obvious intention: to claim the Alt Right has been defeated after almost no one shows up.
But it’s more likely that patriots have simply learned their lesson: not to put their trust in the law, the police, or the First Amendment. Flagrantly-biased law enforcement since last August has convinced many on the Dissident Right that they not only will not be defended by police, they will not even be permitted to defend themselves. Since the release of the Heaphy Report on the events in Charlottesville, it has been undeniable that the local police department deliberately fostered a climate of instability and unrest so it would have an excuse to shut down the rally.

Trump: ‘I may have to get involved’
President Trump questioned Saturday morning why the FBI had not provided conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch and others with text messages of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, warning he “may have to get involved.”
“Why isn’t the FBI giving Andrew McCabe text messages to Judicial Watch or appropriate governmental authorities. FBI said they won’t give up even one (I may have to get involved, DO NOT DESTROY). What are they hiding? McCabe wife took big campaign dollars from Hillary people......,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning. “.....Will the FBI ever recover it’s once stellar reputation, so badly damaged by Comey, McCabe, Peter S and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, and other top officials now dismissed or fired? So many of the great men and women of the FBI have been hurt by these clowns and losers!”
Andrew McCabe’s wife, Jill McCabe, accepted thousands of dollars in donations for a Virginia state Senate election in 2015 from a political action committee headed by Terry McAuliffe, who is close to the Clinton family and chaired Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential run.
Meanwhile, Andrew McCabe assisted overseeing the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails after Jill McCabe’s bid for the state Senate ended in failure. The FBI, led by then-Director James Comey, did not recommend that Clinton face criminal charges for how she managed classified information.

Lenin Updated: "Turn The Globalist War Into A Race War"
It’s déjà vu all over again.
First US President Donald Trump meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki and appears to make some progress towards his stated goal of putting ties between Washington and Moscow on a positive course. Immediately, all hell breaks loose. Trump is a called a traitor. The “sanctions bill from hell” is introduced in the Senate. Trump is forced on the defensive.
Next Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky visits Moscow, where he meets with Putin and gives him a letter from Trump proposing moderate steps towards rapprochement. Paul also talks with Russian Senators and invites them to come to Washington to continue the dialogue. Immediately, all hell breaks loose. Paul is called a traitor. The State Department “finds” the Russians guilty of the using illegal chemical weapons (CW) in the United Kingdom and imposes sanctions. Trump is forced even more on the defensive.
In each instance the actions of the Washington establishment, both in Congress and in even in departments and agencies allegedly part of the Executive Branch of government headed by Trump, moved quickly to nip in the bud even the most tentative efforts by Trump to keep his campaign pledge. With regard to the new CW sanctions it is unclear whether Trump had anything to do with them at all; most likely they either were imposed without his participation or he acceded to them because he felt he had no other option.

Pollak: Almost Nobody Cares About Charlottesville Except NBC, CNN, and 200 Neo-Nazis
The media — particularly NBC and CNN — are abuzz about the anniversary of last year’s Charlottesville riot, which Americans had largely forgotten.
The only people who care are a handful of neo-Nazis, and the journalists who amplify them in an effort to tarnish the White House, boost Democrats’ election prospects, smear conservative media, and vent their contempt for the rest of America.
Last year, on August 11, a group of right-wing extremists marched in Charlottesville, some to protest the removal of a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee, and some simply to spew hatred. The next day, on August 12, they marched again — and so did masked left-wing extremists of Antifa.
There were violent clashes, and a young woman named Heather Heyer was killed after a white nationalist driver drove his car into the counter-protest.
Not everyone on either side was an extremist. The New York Times reported that some protesters simply wanted to protest the removal of the statue. Likewise, not all of the counter-protesters were violent.
When President Donald Trump stated that there were “very fine people on both sides,” while also condemning the violence on “many sides,” he was stating the truth — but the media pounced, claiming falsely that he had endorsed the white supremacists.

Trump Slams Sessions: "He Is Scared Stiff And Missing In Action"
Ten days after Trump lashed out at Jeff Sessions, when on August 1st he demanded the Attorney General "should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now", the president once again escalated his attacks on Sessions on Saturday, tweeting that Sessions is "scared stiff" and "Missing in Action" in a series of tweets questioning if there will be an Inspector General report about the Steele dossier, Steele's meetings with former Deputy Attorney General, Bruce Ohr and Ohr's wife, Nellie Ohr.
Trump attacked former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, the man at the center of the Trump dossier scandal, who had extensive contacts with the Department of Justice's former #4 ranked official, before and after the FBI opened its Trump-Russia probe in the summer of 2016, according to new emails recently turned over to Congressional investigators.
That official, Bruce Ohr, was demoted twice after the DOJ's Inspector General discovered that he lied about his involvement with opposition research firm Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson - who employed Steele. Ohr's CIA-linked wife, Nellie, was also employed by Fusion as part of the firm's anti-Trump efforts, and had ongoing communications with the ex-UK spy, Christopher Steele as well, suggesting that Steele was much closer to the Obama administration than previously disclosed, and his DOJ contact Bruce Ohr reported directly to Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates - who approved at least one of the FISA warrants to surveil Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

The smartphone cleanse: A 7-day guide to a digital detox
The invention of smartphones has become a double-edged sword for many Americans. On one hand, their useful tools have made life easier, but on the flip side, they have become a massive distraction for many.
According to a new study, smartphones are not only deteriorating face-to-face time, they’re also causing more disorganization than ever before. Nearly half of parents polled by a Wakefield Research study said they have missed snapping an important photo or video of a key moment in their child’s life because their phone didn’t have enough storage space.
Additionally, 60% of Americans say they can’t wait even one minute to check a notification on their phone because it causes them stress. Meanwhile, more than half of millennials (52%) said they can’t even go to sleep knowing they have an unread notification on their phone.
Deb Lee, a digital productivity coach, says it’s time for people to stop and rethink their relationship with their device before it’s too late.
Lee teamed up with Xfinity Mobile to launch, “The Phone Cleanse: A Modern Guide to Improve Your Mobile Well-Being,” to educate people on how to best use their devices.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckberg Personally Made Decision to Ban Alex Jones
When an ordinary account gets banned on Facebook, it’s possible that no human was ever involved in the decision. Not so for Alex Jones and Infowars. According to the New York Times, the order to ban the radio host came from the very top.
Citing sources from inside Facebook, The New York Times reported on the process that led to Jones’ suspension.
The situation was volatile enough that Mr. Zuckerberg got personally engaged, according to two people involved in Facebook’s handling of the accounts. He discussed Infowars at length with other executives, and mused privately about whether Mr. Jones — who once called Mr. Zuckerberg a “genetic-engineered psychopath” in a video — was purposefully trying to get kicked off the platform to gain attention, they said.
The Times’ article is a flurry of contradictions. It simultaneously calls fears of censorship “overblown” while acknowledging that users of the platforms must now “tip-toe around” controversial topics to avoid being banned.

Newt: 'A Political Revolution'
The primary significance of Ohio's special election and the other state primaries on Tuesday is that President Donald Trump and his supporters are becoming the prevailing voice in the Republican Party, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich claimed.
"The biggest takeaway message from Tuesday's primaries and the Ohio special election is that the Republican Party is becoming President Trump's party," Gingrich wrote Saturday in an opinion piece for Fox News.
"Now President Trump has begun to grow a Trump Republican Party. The examples from Tuesday are striking, but this growth started earlier. In primary after primary, President Trump has proved to be a decisive voice," he added.
Gingrich called the Tuesday wins of Republican Troy Balderson, who appears to have enjoyed a narrow win against Democrat Danny O'Connor in Ohio's 12th Congressional District, as well as GOP primary victories in close elections in Kansas, Georgia, Montana and South Carolina, the "fifth major achievement" of Trump's presidency.
He outlined the other four achievements as:

Rick Scott Demands Evidence of Election Meddling in Florida
Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) is demanding Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) provide proof to back up his statement that Russian operatives penetrated Florida’s election systems ahead of this year’s crucial election.
Scott, who is is running against Nelson in November’s midterm elections, during a campaign stop in Tampa, demanded his opponent provide “evidence for his claims,” of Kremlin-linked hackers infiltrating the state’s election systems. “This cannot be swept under the rug,” said Scott. “Bill Nelson must come clean and provide a thorough explanation. Elections are not something to try to scare people about.”
“Either Bill Nelson knows of crucial information the federal government is withholding from Florida elections officials, or he is simply making things up,” added Scott. “Did Nelson illegally release some classified information? Or did he make this charge of Russian penetration up?”
Nelson earlier in the week claimed that Russians were able to get inside the election systems of “certain counties” and “now have free rein to move about.”

SIX BALTIMORE SCHOOLS WOULDN’T HAVE HAD ANY SPORTS TEAMS IF NEW GRADING STANDARDS WERE IMPLEMENTED
Baltimore schools delayed implementing a grade policy in August that would have prevented six schools from fielding any sports teams.
Baltimore City Public Schools’ (BCPS) policy would have restricted student athletes who had not achieved at least a 2.0 (“C”) GPA in summer school or the last quarter of the preceding academic year from competing in fall sports like football, reported The Baltimore Sun. The old rule only mandated that students not have failed more than one class per quarter.
“We’re making sure we’re being fair to students who are affected by this and may not have fully understood what was at play before,” BCPS executive director of whole child services and support Sarah Warren told The Sun.
“There’s been situations that have come across my desk where a student may have been living with their grandmother, and their grandmother passes,” BCPS chief academic officer Sean Conley said. “This student may have been an A or B student, but then the grades just plummeted. We want to make sure we’re looking at the student as more of a totality than at just that one moment.”

Report: Hillary Prepares To Feed Press Damaging Biden Stories
Hillary Clinton’s sprawling operation is preparing to feed the press juicy, damaging story lines about Joe Biden — should the vice president join the race for the Democratic nomination.
That’s according to New York magazine, which reports that Hillary superfan David Brock, who leads an array of pro-Hillary organizations, has been stockpiling opposition research to take down candidate Biden.
Political campaigns will typically time the release of oppo-research to strategically damage their opponents’ credibility with voters. Campaigns don’t always take credit for releasing such research, either — with many choosing to quietly leak tips and research packets to individual reporters.
Brock’s super PAC, Correct The Record, is building files “on Biden’s ties to Wall Street; his reluctance to support the raid that killed Osama bin Laden; and his role in the Anita Hill saga as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee,” NYMag reports.

HILLARY SAYS SHE’S ‘NOT SURE’ TRUMP KNOWS PUERTO RICANS ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS
Hillary Clinton took a jab at President Trump on Monday, questioning whether the Republican knows that Puerto Ricans are American citizens.
Speaking during an interview on SiriusXM Progress, Clinton repeated the Democratic talking point that Trump spent more time over the weekend talking about NFL players than he did about the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Maria, which has claimed at least 18 lives.
During her tirade, Clinton took a detour to question Trump’s knowledge of Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory.
“At the same time he was doing all of that,” Clinton said of Trump’s comments about the NFL, “we had American citizens in Puerto Rico who are in a desperate condition. He has not said one word about them, about other American citizens in the U.S. Virgin Islands.”

Trump rips ‘lowlife’ Omarosa after N-word claims
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — President Donald Trump has one word to describe former White House staffer and fellow reality-TV star Omarosa Manigault Newman: “Lowlife.”
Manigault Newman claims in an upcoming book, “Unhinged,” that Trump used racial slurs on the set of his reality show “The Apprentice.” She also says she later concluded that he is a racist and a bigot.
On Saturday, reporters asked Trump during an event at his golf club in New Jersey if he felt betrayed by Manigault Newman. He responded: “Lowlife. She’s a lowlife.”
Manigault Newman was a contestant on Trump’s “The Apprentice” reality show and later served as a senior adviser to the president. In the book, she paints Trump as scattered, self-absorbed, misogynistic and insecure.
The book is set for release Tuesday. The White House has already slammed it as “riddled with lies and false accusations.”

Rally by White Nationalists Was Over Almost Before It Began
WASHINGTON — After weeks of hype, white supremacists managed to muster just a couple of dozen supporters on Sunday in the nation’s capital for the first anniversary of their deadly rally in Charlottesville, Va., finding themselves greatly outnumbered by counterprotesters, police officers and representatives of the news media.
But even with the low turnout, almost no one walked away with the sense that the nation’s divisions were any closer to healing.
Indeed, the streets of downtown Washington were charged on Sunday with tension, emotion and noise, particularly in the afternoon, as the right-wing agitator Jason Kessler and perhaps 20 fellow members of the far right — some wearing bright red “Make America Great Again” hats, some draped in American flags — marched under heavy police escort from the Metro station in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood to their barricaded and heavily protected rally area near the White House.

Heading the ball is much worse for women's brains
Study reveals brain damage and dementia risk is five times worse in female players than males
Heading a ball in a soccer game could cause greater damage to women's brains than to men's, a new study has found.
Through MRI scans, researchers found that female soccer players had damaged brain tissue that was five times more extensive than in male soccer players.
Soccer, or football, is the latest in a number of sports, including the NFL, that have come under scrutiny for players that potentially walk away with long-term brain damage from repeated hits to the head.
The team, from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, says their findings show that sex-specific guidelines may need to be put in place to prevent head injuries from becoming commonplace in the most-played sport in the world.
