Part of plan includes breaking California apart to add more Dem senators
Far-left academics and activists are suggesting the “endangered state of American liberal democracy” under President Trump will require the Democratic Party to defy political norms and pursue “emergency steps” to create a permanent progressive majority.
“Democrats should plan to treat political norms, when and if they’re in charge of a unified government, the way Trump and the Republicans do,”declared Rob Goodman, a political theorist at McGill University, writing for Politico. “They should be readying a program of systematic norm-breaking for partisan advantage—but only if they are willing and able to follow it through to its conclusion.”
Specifically, Goodman cities a new book by political scientist David Faris,It’s Time to Fight Dirty: How Democrats Can Build a Lasting Majority in American Politics, as a blueprint for the type of “systematic norm-breaking” he is advocating for.

Democrats Are Using Shallow Arguments to Hold Up the Next Supreme Court Nominee. Here’s Why They Won’t Work.
Three signs suggest that Democrats already believe they won’t have the votes to defeat President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy.
First, Democrats no longer have the filibuster to prevent confirmation votes. They abolished filibusters for all but Supreme Court nominations in 2013 and Republicans took Supreme Court nominations off the filibuster table last year.
Second, Democratic leaders are saying they will oppose Trump’s nominee even before he announces his choice.
Third, Democrats are making increasingly bizarre arguments that the Senate should delay the confirmation process until next year.

Canada’s Supreme Court Relegates Religious Beliefs to Second-Tier Status. America, Be Warned.
Canada’s Supreme Court recently ruled 7-2 against Trinity Western University, prioritizing sexual orientation over the free exercise of religion. This ruling should serve as a warning flag to U.S. citizens.
Canada was only nine years ahead of the United States in redefining marriage. If the U.S. does not change direction, we could follow in Canada’s footsteps, sacrificing religious liberty for faux-equality and faux-diversity.
Trinity Western University, in Langley, British Columbia, is a Christian university that hoped to establish a Christian law program. The Law Society of British Columbia refused to grant Trinity Western accreditation, claiming that the university’s community covenant agreement discriminates against LGBT students.
The covenant establishes a Christian community that abstains from violence, acknowledges the inherent worth of every person, prohibits cheating, and bans alcohol. The offending clause in this case is Section 4, titled “Healthy Sexuality.”

Eastern Shore couple quits jobs, sells belongings to travel the world
CAPE CHARLES, Va. (WAVY) – All of the clothes and supplies that Peter and Rachel Sengenberger will use over the next year while traveling around the world fit into four bags.
The couple packed methodically for their “round-the-world reset” trip that will take them more than a dozen countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, Finland, Italy, Peru and Chile.
At 41 years old, the two will leave Washington, D.C. for California on Thursday before flying to their first international stop in Australia.
"We kind of had this money we saved up that would have been the equivalent of a down payment on a house,” said Peter.
"Both of us are more experience people,” said Rachel. “We get a lot more out of that than stuff."
The idea for the trip happened after a medical scare in 2016, when Peter lost vision in part of his right eye.
"After a whole lot of testing, they determined it was nothing serious but it was likely stress related,” he said.
That’s when the couple started thinking about their lives – how they wanted to spent their time and futures together. Last August, they committed to researching and planning the trip.
"We literally had a conversation and said if we are going to do this there's no backing out,” Peter said.

Here’s What Happened the Last Time the Left Got Nasty
This is definitely becoming a thing.
On Monday, a toddler-bearing mother confronted EPA chief Scott Pruitt at a Washington, D.C., teahouse and demanded he resign over allegations that he’s been using his office to line his pockets. And last month, inflamed by President Donald Trump’s policy of separating immigrant families at the Mexico border, a handful of citizens took it upon themselves to ensure that certain administration officials couldn’t dine in peace. That controversy came hard on the heels of a similar flare-up weeks earlier, over whether celebrities should attack Trump and his family members with straight-up vulgarity (sparked by Robert De Niro using the F-bomb at the Tony Awards). And all these chapters merely belong to a longer-running saga about what kinds of tactics — boycotting inaugurations, stomping down invited speakers, punching out white supremacists — are suitable for protesting this president, his policies and the dark vision of America he’s leading us into.
Although Trump critics are split about how to respond, many pundits on the left, in the wake of the dinner-denial incidents, seem to be tilting toward the view that we should unshackle ourselves from the constraints of human decency to fight back in kind. It’s easy to understand and share their wish to ostracize, shame or punish those who are complicit with the president’s agenda. Trump has led the way in discarding the norms anddebasing the discourse of public life: crudely insulting political rivals and world leaders, touting vicious conspiracy theories, encouraging violence at rallies and much more. Do he and his supporters really deserve respect, especially for policies like caging children?

Judicial Watch Files House Ethics Complaint Against Maxine Waters For Inciting Violence and Assaults on Trump Cabinet
In encouraging individuals to create “crowds” who will “push back” on President Trump’s Cabinet members at private business establishments and in seemingly trying to prevent these Cabinet officials from obtaining basic necessities without fear of assault and violence, Rep. Waters seems to be violation of House rules…
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today sent a hand-delivered letter to the chairman and co-chairman of the House Office of Congressional Ethics calling for an investigation into whether Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) violated House ethics rules by encouraging violence against Trump administration Cabinet members.
Rep. Maxine Waters addressed a rally in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 23, telling a crowd:
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them! And you tell them that they are not welcome, anymore, anywhere.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Fu3g1MGHY
In today’s letter to the Office of Congressional Ethics co-chairman, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton writes:
In encouraging individuals to create “crowds” who will “push back” on President Trump’s Cabinet members at private business establishments and in seemingly trying to prevent these Cabinet officials from obtaining basic necessities without fear of assault and violence, Rep. Waters seems to be violation of House rules, specifically:
A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House. [House Rule 23, clause 1.]
We hereby request that the Office of Congressional Ethics conduct a preliminary investigation into whether Rep. Maxine Waters violated House Rules in encouraging attacks on Cabinet officials.
“Rep. Maxine Waters incited violence and assault against members of President Trump’s Cabinet,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is urgent that the House Ethics Office quickly acts to hold her accountable for this dangerous incitement.”

What Are My Second Amendment Rights, and Are They Limited by State?
You know that your Second Amendment rights are under attack, but are you sure exactly what those rights entail?
Many people have heard the term “Second Amendment Rights” on social media or in the news, and understand that it covers your right to bear arms. However, the details of exactly which rights are guaranteed by this historical amendment are often lost in translation.
Here is why the Second Amendment to the Constitution is an incredibly important one for gun owners and advocates alike.

A Fine Line
Anti-gun lobbyists frame the conversation that the Second Amendment was always meant to be regulated. In fact, it specifically notes that this right cannot be infringed. The Second Amendment is actually quite simple, and reads:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
This sounds pretty straightforward, right? However, when you break this down, this statement has already been subject to a fair amount of interpretation throughout the years.
It was only in 2008 that the United States Supreme Court finally affirmed the right of an individual to keep a weapon at home for the purpose of defending themselves. Until this time, that question had been quite suspect at the federal level.
Various states have attempted to interpret the “original intent” of the framers of the Constitution, but the reality is that an apartment in a crime-ridden big city is a radically different environment than what which was faced by the individuals who signed this Amendment into law.

China Electronic Spying Threat
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis‘ recent visit to China highlighted the security dangers posed by sophisticated Chinese electronic spying in the capital of Beijing.
Security precautions for those traveling with the defense secretary were extremely tight during his June 26-28 visit.
To prevent Chinese spying through cellphones or laptop computers, the 10 journalists traveling aboard the secretary’s Air Force E-4B nuclear command plane, a militarized Boeing 747, were prohibited from bringing any electronic devices that were taken off the aircraft during the two-day visit back onto the plane. Anything that used wireless connectivity was deemed potentially vulnerable to Chinese hacking.
Security officials were concerned that China’s formidable electronic spies would plant viruses or other malware onto the cellphones and laptops, allowing remote spying aboard the aircraft.
The concerns were magnified because the E-4B is one of the more sensitive aircraft in the military’s inventory. The jets — four are currently deployed — are critical elements of nuclear command and control systems used by commanders to communicate with their forces during a nuclear crisis or conflict.
Gaining access to the electronics or communications of the command plane could allow the Chinese military to block or disrupt nuclear commands, or spy on nuclear command-and-control methods.

Unhealthy Competition
The health care system is the least competitive industry in America, leading to skyrocketing costs, according to a Harvard physician.
Dr. Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, said better price transparency—a popular solution to rising medical costs—will make health care more affordable for patients, but that solution alone will not reduce prices. Disclosing the costs of treatment does little good if consumers do not have access to other doctors—one of the key drivers of rising costs, according to Jha.
"Imagine a place where somebody is selling slices of pizza for $10," he told the Senate Health Committee. "You can make that price transparent, but if you don't have an alternative to go somewhere else for a cheaper slice of pizza then price transparency isn't going to do you much."
Jha said that the health care industry was less competitive than almost any other in the United States, which poses the biggest threat to consumers. Some lawmakers shared his misgivings with the evolution of regional monopolies in both rural and urban areas.
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R., La.), a career physician, has spearheaded efforts to reform the health care system and co-sponsored the Senate's failed attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare. He said that the consolidation of providers has driven up costs exponentially, even in bigger cities such as Boston. The trend of area monopoly providers can be traced to the lack of competition in the insurance market, as well as demographics.

Harvard-Harris Poll: 76% of Registered Voters Do Not Support ‘Open Borders’
A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that 76% of registered American voters do not believe the United States should have “open borders,” and 61% said current U.S. border security is “inadequate.”
In the June 24-25 online survey of 1,448 registered voters, Harvard-Harris asked, “Do you think we should have basically open borders or do you think we need secure borders?”
Seventy-six percent of the respondents (1,093 people) said “we need secure borders.” Twenty-four percent of respondents (354 people) said “we should have basically open borders.”
In another question, Harvard-Harris asked, “Do you think current border security is adequate or inadequate?”
Sixty-one percent said border security is “inadequate,” and 39% said border security is “adequate.”

Supreme Court Says Foreign Nationals Have No Due Process Rights Here
Contrary to what the liberal media and open-borders advocates say, illegal immigrants are not owed same constitutional protections as regular Americans
President Donald Trump recently suggested that illegal aliens should be sent back to their countries of origin without hearings and the years of litigation that often follow.
He branded the current process, which permits illegal aliens to repeatedly contest orders of removal, as “a mockery to good immigration policy and law and order.”
The mainstream media wasted no time in characterizing his suggestion as a “push to end due process for illegal immigrants.” And multiple news outlets made all manner of wild claims about the so-called rights of illegal aliens. But once again, in an effort to portray the chief executive as a xenophobe, the open-borders lobby has gotten its facts backward.
Trump is actually right on the mark. Much of the current legal framework for removing illegal aliens from the United States consists of badly reasoned federal district-court decisions, ridiculous settlement agreements, and politically motivated policy decisions.
The open-borders lobby and its handmaidens in the mainstream media have consistently represented this hodgepodge as a clear articulation of “affirmative rights.”
But that representation is misleading.
Illegal aliens are entitled to considerably less immigration due process than their advocates would have us believe...

More Jihadists and Muslim Extremists Are Popping Up in Parts of the U.S.
As many people know, our open-border policy is creating monumental problems for the United States, not the least of which is an influx of gang members and terrorists. Back in April, I wrote an article showing how MS-13 used DACA to smuggle over 2,000 foot soldiers into the U.S.
Terrorist groups are doing the same.
So what are the results of this “stealth jihad” and the infiltration of America?
Nearly three million Muslims have made their way to the U.S. since 1992, and we are now seeing the results. “Domestic” terrorist training grounds and support networks are appearing all over the United States.
One such example exists in Florida, and it is terrifying.

Fact Check: Are 80% of Asylum Court Cases Not Approved?
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in a Fox News interview that about 80 percent of people seeking asylum in immigration court do not receive it.
Verdict: True
About 80 percent of asylum cases in immigration court are denied or otherwise closed. That figure does not include thousands of people granted asylum outside of court.
Nielsen mentioned the large portion of asylum-seekers who are not granted asylum after the Trump administration announced a “zero tolerance” policy toward illegal immigration on the southern border.
“About 80 percent pass that initial interview, but only 20 percent are granted asylum by a judge, which tells us that 80 percent of that is either just a flat-out fraud or somebody who thinks they can come here because they want a job here,” she said in a Fox News interview in May.

Democrats Do The Supreme Court Twist
Senate Democrats who demanded Republicans give a vote to Merrick Garland in 2016 are now insisting the "McConnell Rule" be followed by delaying a vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee until after the midterms.
Democrats are still fuming over the refusal of Senate Republicans to hold a hearing and vote for Garland, President Barack Obama's selection following the death of Antonin Scalia in 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), citing then-Sen. Joe Biden (D., Del.) in 1992, said the American people should have a say in the selection of the next Supreme Court Justice, since it was a presidential election year.
The Washington Post called Democrats' charges of base hypocrisy "bogus," since McConnell made clear he was talking about a presidential election year.
Trump will make his second nomination to the Supreme Court in as many years following the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, leading to liberal fears of a longtime conservative majority on the nation's highest court.
These lawmakers, who don't know the name of Trump's nominee yet, have changed their tune from two years ago in calling for a vote to be put off until after November.

Judge gives green light to California's sanctuary laws
A federal judge upheld most of California’s new sanctuary laws Thursday, but did rule the state went too far when it ordered businesses not to grant access to the Border Patrol or deportation officers.
Judge John A. Mendez, a Bush appointee to the court, said the state does not have to turn over illegal immigrants and can refuse to cooperate with federal agents, as long as it still allows local police to share information.
And he ruled that California has the right to perform inspections on any facility that holds illegal immigrants in the state.
Both of those are major victories for the sanctuary movement, which had seen California’s laws as a major test of the legal situation.

Waters Deserves Censure for ‘Inciting Mob Violence,’ Fitton Says
House members should “reprimand” or “consider expelling” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) for “inciting mob violence” against members of President Donald Trump’s administration, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said Thursday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”
“The No. 1 House ethics rule is that you’ve got to act in a way that reflects creditably on the House at all times,” Fitton said. “And when you’re out there … inciting mob violence against sitting Trump Cabinet members, that doesn’t obviously reflect credibly on the House.”
Waters faced a bipartisan backlash after she called upon her supporters in late June to harass and publicly confront Trump administration members.
“If you see anybody from that [Trump] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said.

The congresswoman doubled down on her calls for confrontation during an MSNBC interview.

Police: Mom Shoots Man In Head Who Tried To Steal Car With Kids Inside
DALLAS, Texas. (CBSLocal) – A Texas mother says she’s sorry she didn’t fire “the whole clip” at a suspected carjacker who allegedly tried to steal her SUV while the woman’s two children were in the backseat. However, the mom did fire one shot, hitting the suspect in the head and sending him to the hospital.
Dallas police say the woman stopped for gasoline at a Shell station on Camp Wisdom Road in North Texas on July 4.
The mother, who did not want to be identified, left her children in the SUV while she ran inside the convenience store. Before she returned a man jumped into her vehicle and tried to drive away, but the woman saw what was happening and jumped in the back seat.

Tim Tebow Drives Huge Jump in Double-A All-Star Game Ticket Prices
A website that tracks ticket sales found that once AA baseball player and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow had been named to the league’s All-Star squad, ticket prices for the game exploded.
Calling it the “Tebow effect,” the site Fandemonium reported that so many fans want to see Tebow play that ticket prices for the Eastern League All-Star Game climbed exponentially once the league announced that Tebow would be a featured participant.
“On Vivid Seats,” the site reported, “the cheapest ticket rose to $115, nearly six times the $20 tickets available prior to the announcement that Tebow was an all-star.”
After having a banner season, Tebow was named to the All-Star team in late June.

AP meeting with FBI raises ethical questions
Associated Press reporters asked the FBI and Justice Department for a meeting in April 2017, hoping to find out whether their reporting on President Trump’s former campaign chairman was on the right track.
But it was the AP reporters who would shape the FBI’s investigation, an agent would later testify, when they disclosed the existence of a storage locker used by Paul Manafort.
Roughly a month after the meeting, the FBI obtained a search warrant for the locker, seizing 30 years’ worth of financial documents that would become the backbone of the government’s current prosecution of Mr. Manafort in two different courtrooms.
Conservative media-watchdog groups say the meeting illuminates a cozy relationship between news outlets they perceive as having an anti-Trump bias and Justice Department, which has been besieged by accusations of political partisanship.
“This is a lapse of journalistic ethics,” said Don Irvine, chairman of Accuracy in Media. “It looks like The Associated Press is cooperating with the investigation and pushing this information to get Manafort so it could get to Trump.”

Dems Issue Depressing Statement on Independence Day as People Leave Party in Droves
The Democrat party is in complete disarray.
The violence, threats, calls to abolish borders and abolish ICE are causing people to leave the Democrat party in droves.
The #WalkAway campaign is gaining momentum as decent Americans are fed up with the vitriol and overall lack of message from the Democrat party.
“Nearly two and a half centuries ago, a band of patriots gathered in Philadelphia to declare that ‘all men are created equal.’ Our nation has changed dramatically since those words were first written on parchment. Generations of brave Americans – from service members to civil rights activists – have fought to expand the promise of equality for more Americans and move our country forward in its march toward a more perfect union.
“As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we recognize that America’s founding promise remains out of reach for too many families. Too many members of our society are still struggling to find a good-paying job or get the health care they need. Too many women, LGBTQ Americans, people of color, and people with disabilities still face inequality and injustice across our society.
“Everywhere we look, our most fundamental values are under attack. Thousands of children have been separated from their parents at our southern border. At our highest court, workers’ rights are being taken away, voting rights are under assault, Muslim Americans are being discriminated against for their faith, and women’s right to choose is under threat like never before.
“The Democratic Party believes that all people are created equal – no matter who they are, where they come from, who they love, or how they pray. As we celebrate our nation’s independence, Democrats reaffirm our commitment to fighting for the values of inclusion and opportunity for everyone.”
Meanwhile on planet earth, Trump’s poll numbers are better than ever, Americans are more optimistic than ever and giving to charities at record numbers.

James Comey Interview: More Gun Control For The Peasants
During a recent interview, fired FBI director James Comey called for more gun control against the peasants, but not for the ruling class he was a part of for so long. Comey also said the NRA propagates “lies” in order to keep Americans armed against their rulers.
“Surely there are things we can agree upon that relate to who’s able to buy a weapon, what kind of weapon and at what age, what the capabilities of the weapon are, how many rounds does it hold, and things like that, that in no way threaten the rights under the US constitution of people to keep and bear arms,” Comey said during an interview with the UK’s iNews.
Except, based on the very working of the second amendment, all gun laws are “unconstitutional,” of course, the ruling class doesn’t care what they do to those underneath them.
iNews quoted Comey indicating he is not for an all-out ban on private on gun ownership, but he does support making some rather strict changes to the current law, including an increase in the legal age for gun purchases.
According to The Hill, Comey also harshly criticized the NRA as standing in the way of securing these controls, saying,
“One of the worst things that goes on in the U.S. is the current voice of the National Rifle Association because it sells fear in the wake of any incident.”

Facebook Removes Declaration of Independence Excerpt for ‘Hate Speech’
Facebook removed an excerpt from the U.S. Declaration of Independence, claiming the text violated the social network’s policies on “hate speech.”
The Liberty County Vindicator had been uploading the Declaration of Independence in parts to their Facebook page, only for the tenth part to be removed by the social network.
The text was as follows:
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
Though the newspaper is unsure why the text was removed, they presumed it was due to the Declaration of Independence’s use of the term “merciless Indian Savages.”

'Gang' of rhino poachers mauled to death by pride of lions after breaking into game reserve
At least three suspected rhino poachers have been killed by a pride of lions after they broke into a game reserve in South Africa.
Rangers discovered human remains around 4:30 p.m. local time on July 3 in the immediate vicinity of the lions’ territory at the Sibuya Game Reserve in Kenton-on-Sea in the Eastern Cape, more than 24 hours after an anti-poaching dog alerted her handler that something was amiss.
The ranger however did not examine the disturbance further because it was not unusual to hear the lions at night.
When members of the anti-poaching unit investigated, they recovered human remains, a high-powered rifle with a silencer, wire cutters, an axe and three pairs of shoes.

Progressives Deploy Religious Ignorance and Bigotry to Stop Amy Coney Barrett
If you ever need much evidence that the growing “God gap” in American politics fosters an immense amount of ignorance and occasionally outright bigotry, look no farther than the concern — the alarm, even — that Amy Coney Barrett is on President Trump’s short list to replace Anthony Kennedy on the United States Supreme Court.
The alarm isn’t about her credentials. She’s checked every box of excellence — law review, appellate-court clerkship, Supreme Court clerkship (with Justice Scalia), elite law-firm experience, law professor at an elite law school, and now experience as a federal judge on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She’s a young, brilliant woman at the apex of her profession.
So, beyond her obvious originalist judicial philosophy (shared to varying degrees by every person on Trump’s list of potential nominees), what’s the problem with Judge Barrett. Why do some progressives single her out for particular scorn?
It turns out that she’s a faithful Christian who lives a Christian life very similar to the lives of millions upon millions of her fellow American believers.
No, really, that’s the objection.
Of course there was the infamous moment during Judge Barrett’s 2017 confirmation hearing for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals when Senator Dianne Feinstein imposed an obvious religious test on her nomination. “When you read your speeches,” Feinstein said, “the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you. And that’s of concern when you come to big issues that large numbers of people have fought for, for years in this country.”

Syrian Government Appeals for Refugees to Return, Help Rebuild Country
The Syrian government on Tuesday called on refugees to return, saying it has successfully cleared large areas of “terrorists.”
The rare appeal reflects the government’s growing confidence after more than seven years of war. While officials usually appeal to Syrians abroad to return during television appearances and interviews, this is the first formal appeal broadcast on official media.
Syrian government forces, with crucial support from Russia and Iran, recently retook large areas near the capital, Damascus, and are waging a new offensive in the south that U.N. officials say has displaced more than 270,000 people.
The U.N. Security Council scheduled closed consultations for Thursday on the offensive and rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the southwest at the request of Sweden and Kuwait.

Facebook Blocks Country Band Song ‘I Stand for the Flag’ Because of ‘Political Content’

In communications with the social media giant, the band says they were told that Facebook would not let them use the promotional tools because Facebook disapproved of the “political content” of the song.

Media Slams President For Prematurely Ending Crisis They Were Exploiting
U.S.—After President Trump signed an executive order ending the separation of illegal immigrant children from their parents, several news networks slammed the president for prematurely ending the news story they were endlessly milking for ratings.
Right after Trump ordered the end of the family separation policy, MSNBC, CNN, and dozens of other news outlets raked the president over the coals for taking away their 24/7 topic of discussion. Representatives for multiple stations confirmed that they were “really counting on” the immigration crisis to go on for another month or two in order to keep their ratings high.

Mall Vacancies Hits 6-Year High
A simple Google search of "malls in default", "mall closing", or the evergreen "retail apocalypse" will result in a bleak list of dozens of mostly midwest and western-USA newspaper and journal stories with headlines like Rushmore Mall facing foreclosure, $100M in upaid loads or Another one bites the dust and Metro area mall headed for a foreclosure sale as owner faces default on $200M loan.
But a casual drive to your local Sears or Dillard's (or the place where they used to stand) will likely confirm what we've long noted — that while mega malls were once the destination of choice for America's misunderstood youth, they're bound to suffer the same fate as the big hair, hoop earrings and creepy mustaches that once frequented their food courts in the 80s.
New figures by real estate research firm Reis shows consumer presence in America's once great cultural icon of 80s-90s suburban chic is at a 6-year low, with the the vacancy rate at metro and regional malls around the country hitting 8.6% last quarter (up from 8.4 percent in the prior quarter), the highest since the end of 2012.

Hamilton vs. Jefferson
The Fourth of July celebrates America’s freedom from England. The delegates from the thirteen colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, the document written by Thomas Jefferson that gave America its moral pulse. After the Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence, the United States of America was born.
Americans need to be grateful to Jefferson for giving us the language and values of liberty and freedom. Yet, by watching and listening to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s play “Hamilton” people will get the wrong impression of Hamilton and Jefferson. As Hamilton’s star has risen, Jefferson’s has fallen. In looking at the political views and policies of each man there should be a recognition of who is the elitist and who is the one supporting the common individual.

Happy Independence Day, America, You’re My Favorite Startup
Because of America’s unique government, this democratic republic has fostered more growth, ingenuity, and security than the modern world has ever seen. But arecent USA Today poll said that while 90 percent of Republicans surveyed said they were proud to be Americans, only about 71 percent were proud of America. Not surprisingly, the numbers are even lower among Democrats polled (61 percent were proud to be Americans and 22 percent were proud of America right now). While Trump’s roller-coaster presidency has inspired a new debate about nationalism, populism, and the relationship between the two, it should still be okay to have pride in America and be proud to be an American. That’s not eerily sinister, that’s patriotic.
It’s en vogue now to be critical of America and even to be slightly, if not completely, ashamed of being an American. Hollywood stars regularly tweet about their disdain for the country where they have the freedom to criticize her while enjoying enough wealth and popularity to rejuvenate the entire country of Venezuela. That they miss this irony altogether just makes their comments that much more amusing.

Black Women Leaders Slam Schumer, Pelosi for Not Supporting Waters Read Newsmax: Newsmax.com - Conservative News in Politics, Health, Finance & More Urgent: Do you approve of Pres. Trump? Vote Here in Poll
Dozens of black women leaders and allies have admonished the Senate and House minority leaders for their "recent failure to protect" Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., "from unwarranted attacks" by President Donald Trump, his administration, and other Republicans.
Waters said last month that opponents of Trump should confront members of his administration whenever they meet them and "tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere," according to The Daily Beast, a comment that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer both declined to agree with. Schumer described her approach in a floor speech as "not American,” according to CNN.
