ReplyDeleteFirst, it is important to remember that while Rome, China, Persia,etc were stable states, they often dealt with tribal confederations or more loosely organized peoples. In terms of recruiting people, this helped because one tribe could often be easily convinced to fight another for their own reasons, and the sovereign state backing them hopefully wins out as a result of two weakened enemies

Pray for God to give him strength to put up with all the BS the media, congress and the Republican party continue to put him through. Was concerned earlier this week when it looked like he was caving on the wall/govt shutdown. Glad he got his second wind and is fighting back for the country.

He's teaching those who can be taught to look out for the nation, rather than spending all of their time promoting themselves and their parties. What will determine the fate of the nation is whether he can educate enough of them. So far, so good.
