A two-vehicle collision involving a limousine has left 20 dead in upstate New York, the New York State Police said on Sunday. Federal investigators were heading to the scene.
Local reports said the limousine was carrying a wedding party when it collided with another vehicle outside the Apple Barrel Country Store in Schoharie, N.Y., on Saturday afternoon.
A ton and a half (Or more) of people in a chopped up and modified 1/2 ton capacity vehicle, what could go wrong? It was loaded with 3 times the capacity of the vehicle, before it was chopped in two. The capacity of the vehicle was reduced even further by the addition of the middle section that lengthened it into a "limo." Duh, how about brakes that can't stop the load it wasn't designed for. That vehicle COULDN'T stop when it came down that hill. It was unsafe by design.
The article clearly states it was a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION not a Wedding Party!
ReplyDeleteThe local press and law enforcement initially thought that it was a wedding party, but were later corrected.
ReplyDeleteWhat a senseless loss.
