Sen. Chris Coons: Burden of proof lies with Kavanaugh to prove innocence

Conservatives condemn 'Democratic kangaroo court'

Sen. Chris Coons, Delaware Democrat, drew double-takes on the right Monday after insisting that the burden of proof lies with Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to prove his innocence.

Mr. Coons said that Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez “have nothing to gain” and have put themselves “at legal risk” by accusing Mr. Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in his teen years.

“It is Judge Kavanaugh who is seeking a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court and who I think now bears the burden of disproving these allegations,” said Mr. Coons in a Monday interview on MSNBC, “rather than Dr. Ford andDeborah Ramirez who should be dismissed with slanderous accusations.”

Townhall.com’s Guy Benson called the argument “just wild,” while the Media Research Center blasted it as the “Dem idea of justice.”

  1. I'm glad he's a true constitutionalist!
After he's confirmed, all of these dumbocrats and their attempt to shred our basic founding document will be shown what is right and what will keep this country alive for another 250 years!

  3. Why didn't Coons and the other Democrats bring this up when they first knew about it? Why did they not take it to the FBI then since it would be labeled a crime? Why did they not encourage her to go to the Local Police? Why wait till everything was over and the vote was to be taken? Just another "bullying" Democrat tactic to stall so they can possibly get a liberal Judge appointed that would allow the Democrats could have the SCOTUS would rule by political beliefs and not by law. If the Democrats succeed then we have lost our Country and rule of law.

  4. From my own experience as a juror on a rape case I do not believe her. My case was years ago and was an MD charged with raping a patient.
She waited almost 3 yrs to come forward.
Experts on both sides told that when someone goes through a traumatic experience they remember many of the details thought not important like what they were wearing for instance. One referred to the parents of the Columbine shooting victims and how the parents could say what they were doing when they got the news of the shooting, what they were wearing, who they immediately called, how they got to the school, to the hospital and many other details.
Besides other things that didn't add up all of the jurors were struck that she could not remember the clothes she was wearing at the time the rape supposedly happened.
We found the doctor not guilty.

  5. So Coons wants to deny the man his constitutional rights. Damn progressives. Now that 2 men have come forward to say that it was them and not Kavanuagh, it makes the left look pretty foolish. I hope the Judge goes after them suing for slander and libel.

  6. I can't wait until some local democrat comes up to shake my hand and ask for my vote. They are going to get an earful. First off I won't allow them to shake my hand because I don't want such filth touching me. Then I will tell them why and how I think they are a foul despicable waste of oxygen to associate with that party. It shows how they were raised with no morals or character and that they can go to hell and I hope they do because that will be where they will see their loved ones who raised such an evil bad degenerates.

  12. I believe Dr Ford has a mental problem. She decided to sound of about Judge Kavanaugh not really thinking anything would be come of it UNTIL Feinstein got a hold of it and from there convinced Ford to come forward -- a puppet. She had alot of contradictions from what her attorneys we're saying. Such as fear of flying.

  13. And those idiots in Delaware keep electing that Douche Bag who should be in jail for allowing Joe Biden to grope his daughter.

Chris Coons should be a registered sex offender for what he did to his daughter.
