Here's What Jake Day & Jack Heath Aren't Telling You

While you just pass by these signs posted throughout Downtown Salisbury Maryland, you may not truly understand the reality and damage it will cause.

Look deeper at the image. In the background is Eric's Downtown Barber Shop. You might as well just shut down his business for at least a week, perhaps two and he is only ONE of many businesses that are getting screwed simply because, (once again) the boy Mayor and his Council President Jack Heath either don't give a crap about hundreds of businesses/customers Downtown or they're just plain stupid. Either way, this move hurts everyone and helps the City in no way, shape or form. ALL parking lots will be closed and the City will be shut down.

So the next time you cast a vote for a particular candidate, look at their experience. Heath and Day are both Idiots.

  2. Comon Eric, we know you've pondered moving. And you know there are a bunch of us customers who would help. Pick a day and let us know.

  3. This was all part of the cluster F scramble to have the folk festival committee pick Salisbury. No actual thought into logistical planning as usual, just impulse like a spoiled teenager

  4. He already killed off several viable businesses with the screwed up delayed road work, may as well take the rest of em out.

I wonder if any of this was discussed with the businesses or if this is just one of the many Day surprises to come.

  5. Logistics? No problem, we have people for that.

  6. I'm sorry Joe but there hasn't been any article to express my dismay so since u brought up idiots, I would be remiss in not mentioning what I saw on TV this morning. Being in OC proper, I'm lucky to have fox 5 from DC to from Suckcast to occasionally see news from a real news station....ANYWAY roughly during the 8 o'clock hour Mayor RICKIE Skyped in to tell DCers to come to OC for the labor day weekend, then promoted Sept activities....which include bike week (which is sponsored by OC) sunfest, et al. I near choked on my morning bourbon because I wanted to know why now, at the end of one of the worst seasons we have had, to finally advertise. Talk about bass ackwards thinking and semi crappy marketing. Where the hell were u in June July and August when vacancies we're the norm during the week AND schools were not session. Why worry about marketing in Ohio And Midwestern states, where u bread and butter is supposed to be Delmarva....and ok PA. My days r getting shorter and shorter, where I love my sunrises and cup of "Joe", watching the sunsets from my Bayside retreat, continuing to countdown the days to TGIF, WISHING I still had fight left to try to immerse common sense into reality. Miss the days of Fish and Kelly, where common sense made this place a family resort and NOT VACANCIES everywhere during the week. Sigh. Love what u do Joe, please continue being our news leader here in DELMARVA....love TLs when I can visit! Thank u so much!!

  7. According to article just posted on wboc they still need about 360 volunteers as of today for that festival.

  8. The city of Salisbury is clearing the Old Mall parking lot of all the weeds and trash. I hope they are sending a bill to the owners of the lot or are at least getting the use of the space for free.

Because if they are doing clean up for free and being charged for the space we should know.

Also I see that everything is getting a new pain job. The parking garage downtown. They painted over all the brick. Why? Brick is durable and needs less upkeep than the south facing side of the garage which will now need upkeep. Brick wears slower than paint.

  9. So what about all the permit holders, who pay monthly to park in this lot and the residents who live there and pay for a monthly parking pass? Are they going to be refunded for the lost days, will they be given parking elsewhere and free shuttles provided by the city to transport them back and forth to wherever they are told to park? There is nothing in the city charter that allows them to kick out permit holders and there is nothing in the city charter that authorizes towing out of these permitted lots for permit holders who are current on their fees.

  11. They are closing down the Health Dept early on Friday because they are going to sell parking spaces there. They begged the employees to “volunteer” to man the lot and collect money. But they will be reimbursed with $10 gift cards for every hour they “volunteer”. How shady!!! You are paying them but through gift cards so there is no tax implications. (And they made employees use their vacation time for the hours they will shut down early...)

  13. Private business and think of all the state and local government employees who also have to pay to park in city lots that are being closed and still have to go to work. If they can get to work there will little to do since public and clients that use services at the health department for example won’t be able to get to.

  14. This might not be related, but what is being built on Beaglin near the railroad tracks?

  15. and you're supposed to park in the garage. well, it can only hold so many.

  16. You are 100% wrong about the Health Department. Not only will they be open for regular business hours, the parking garage is operating with normal rates. The Health Department would never do what you're making up.

  17. 11:05. I got my info first hand from an employee that works there. Perhaps I should clarify I am referencing the Health Dept on Carroll Ave. And the spots will be rented for $20 a day. I’m right. And you are wrong. And that’s the end of this discussion.

    1. I do not think legally they can rent out anything. I know for a fact they are concerned about clients that need to get there for services will not be able too. Everyone is being told to park in lot 7 which county already pays the city for so it’s employees have parking. The HD would have to have permission from the state to ask for volunteers and pay with gift cards I highly doubt it.
