There were at least seven campers parked in the main parking lot at Walmart this past weekend. These campers should be parked in the recycling parking lot area instead, closer to Rt. 50. The sad part is, the cost to park at a campground in this area is so outrageous, (price wise) any more, very few can afford the rental space so they park at Walmart instead. It's a great service Walmart provides but they should police this better and make sure the campers park in the other recycling lot.
Walmart have always been very gracious by allowing overnight camping for travelers en route to other destinations. It’s convenient, reasonably safe and beats trying to find a site for one night, but if this is factual and people are actually camping there because of the proximity to OC then I agree. It should be stopped. They’ll just end up screwing it up for those of us that appreciate the courtesy of overnight parking when WalMart stop allowing if for fear of the Clampitts pictured above making it their vacation spot. Reminds be of the Married With Children episode where the Bundy’s vacationed in the supermarket.

Googling Walmart's rules for RV/Camper/Tractor Trailer overnight Parking - it says: "Seems obvious, but it's always worth mentioning. Park only in the spaces designated for RV parking. You should always double-check with the store ahead of time, so you aren't rudely awakened by a security guard!
Since you are very concerned over where these vehicles park,maybe you could check with Store Manager and have Berlin parking area changed. I expect along a highway is designated area to entice other Campers to join the group. Here in Pocomoke campers are visible from Rt 13.
It shows Campers are welcomed and gains Walmart customers. Who wouldn't go in Walmart shopping while there overnight. The Camper area do not block parking lot traffic.

I also want to point out that since finances have been bad other campgrounds have been allowed campers to stay put and work out of the campground and drive the real campers to search for nicer more stable campground sites where people and not coming and going at all hours. Selling the camper.
I know some of them park there and wait for their spots at some of the camping grounds - I know check in time can be late in the afternoon and with Ocean City traffic its a great spot to stop and have lunch - Its a wonderful service Walmart offers but like anything it should be treated with respect by the people who use it and that is no always the case.

He's not whining you moron. If it doesn't have parking spaces for campers then they shouldn't park there and they definitely shouldn't camp there. The parking spaces are marked for a reason.
Who would want to camp at a Walmart parking lot? It's blacktop with no shade, not near the water or with a view. They might as well have stayed in their own hometown and parked at their local Walmart. Would have saved a lot of gas.

Worcester County needs to step in and put a stop to this.
