A Letter To The Editor 7-16-18

It appears that Sunrise Capital Investment has finagled a grant from the city of Salisbury to get water & sewer run out to the Walston Mobile Home Park. I guess that means the park will be annexed into the city of Salisbury. I wonder if that grant money has to be paid back? Company out of Florida gets a city grant that saves them a couple million dollars in water and sewer upgrades that they would of had to pay for out of their pockets but instead gets to utilize tax payer money to get it all done. Now when they sell the park in three or four years they and their investors walk away laughing all the way to their bank. If they don’t have to pay this grant back to the city, we’ll isn't that some shit.

  1. Are you mad because you didn't think of it or couldn't afford to do the same thing?

  2. It is called capitalism, and if they are smarter enough, and the cit officials are that stupid enough to go along with all of this crap, then let it be!!! Good for the company making out like a bandit, that is what companies do, make money or they wouldn't be a company duh!!! Besides, the city is getting more tax money by annexing this property in to the city limits and helps the city push more into the county so they can get you one water ans sewer to, so when the rates go so high you can't afford them, they can come condemn your house and take it from you... You will see, just like Flint Michigan... The water is undrinkable, but if you don't pay your water bill, (you know pay for something you can't and done use) they can turn of the service to your house, then with no service condemn it and take it from you!!!! Isn't that so awesome??? And here you clowns wanted to eminent domain a guys land so you wouldn't be inconvenienced and extra 5 to 10 minutes of drive time to a d from the city... You people are flat out selfish, and quite stupid!!!! You never think of the long term affects these actions bring on your city and ultimately you... Then when it happens, you just sit there writing useless articles that solves nothing, or you complain which solves nothing...

  5. This is another form of Socialism. The Government and Pharmaceuticals are doing everything to control citizens. This should be paid for by the investors. That is capitalism. This is another form of control over citizens. This is what Democrats would call stepping back into slavery. Is that not a time in history where people were controlled in all aspects of their lives? They are still coming for our guns. Then that will be total control. History repeating itself again.

  6. 9:04 AM Idiot,

    1. - that was your money and you are applauding the fact that someone picked your pocket and got away with it?

    2. - the system can't handle what it processes now and is not compliant and you applaud over stressing the system by adding to it?

  7. Grants are gifts with strings attached. They don't get paid back, but have to be used for their intended purposes.

  8. We have been a reactionary nation since 2001. Proactive mindset is no longer in our basic make-up. Look at the snowflakes today - head down, dazed looking on their face - zero association/socialization with the real world!

The future isn't bright and proactive isn't in the cards!

    Hang on if you can!

  9. Maybe the trailer park owners really wanted to get orange freebie bikes for their tenants and crafty Jake made them buy the water? /sarc

  10. How do they get away with putting water lines in past your house or business and then FORCE you to connect to it? They did the same in the Morris Mill Road area. Not all those homes there needed their water, but HAD to connect to it. Government is just too damn big and need to be brought down to size.

  12. @July 16, 2018 at 9:28 AM. Who are you? Some damn high up city employee? That's nothing to be proud of. I know someone who used to be employed by the city and retired from there and has told me about the crooked things you people do. Including threatening employees with their jobs if they say anything.
