Who Wants/Needs One?

  1. It is not the “fast lane” it is the “passing lane”

  2. There are no fast lanes, speed limit is the same in both lanes! Law says keep right except to pass so if you pass a car going 55MPH then you are speeding.

    1. Evidently you’ve never driven on the bypass then where the speed limit is 65mph (in non construction zones)?
You’re the asshat doing 55mph on the bypass in the passing lane.

  3. Don't know if the law has changed in Maryland, but years ago it was or is legal as long as you are not under the posted limit by 10 mph.

  4. You're 100% right, but wrong. Going the posted speed is lawful, but not always popular with the general public. So going slow, the speed limit, does promote a problem, When most folks prefer to exceed the speed limit by their own determined judgement you become a deterrent to them. So take the middle lane and make it safe for yourself and others. There is also the case where a driver stubbornly and knowingly stays in the passing lane just to show their control over others. They are, by far, ones needing some serious counseling.

  5. People who think the left lane is for speeding; are idiots! The passing lane is used to pass not drive 65 in 55 mph road. Obey the speed limit in ALL lanes!

  6. Whether it is legal or not to drive the posted speed limit in the left/fast/passing lane isn't the point, what is the point is the creation of bottlenecks on the highway. These bottlenecks create a hazardous condition that can lead to accidents. So why would anyone deliberately engage in such behavior other than they are rude and/or ignorant.

Be courteous stay in the right lane except to pass. Why do you care if someone speeds? Isn't that one of the reasons we have police to issue tickets?

  7. If you are going 55 you don't belong in the left lane....move over. Passive aggressive.

  8. I would like one that says Slow down " Mario Andretti". You'll get there.

  9. Thought MD changed the law the last couple years to make it unlawful to ride in the left lane and hold-up / hinder the flow of traffic. You are required to move to the right and not hold-up / hinder the flow of traffic.

  10. 7:44 and 8:25 You are the reason road rage exists. You think that you are so smug in your "the law states" comments that you refuse to remember what common courtesy meant.
Stay right except to pass. It's simple. And I don't care if you're turning left in Willards - you don't need to get in the left lane at Hobbs Road to do that. You'd be surprised how much of us 'considerate' drivers will let you move left to turn left, compared to you a$$holes who think you own the left (fast lane/ passing lane) lane and won't let others pass.
    BE CONSIDERATE!

  11. And that will get you a one finger salute every time.

  12. Yeh 8;05 and that sign is for idiots like you..so just move over its that easy or at least keep up with flow....

  13. Everybody knows that lane is for the cops.

  14. It appears that everyone above is guilty of driving slow in the left lane. If you want to drive the speed limit or slower KEEP RIGHT and leave the left lane for the people who have somewhere to go !!!

    Otherwise READ THE SIGN !!!

  15. If a vehicle rides my bumper because they need to drive 10+ mph over the limit, I move over and let them pass. I also call them in to 911 as a possible drunk driver/aggressive driver and hope to see them pulled over further down the road.

  16. Most Shore drivers don't understand the logic of move over.
Kind of like trying to teach us to use dual turn lanes and stay in one lane and not cut folks off. Just doesn't sink in. Don't get me wrong I am a from here. Just have been elsewhere and saw how real folks drive. If you don't believe me just use the lanes at Naylor Mill and 13 and try to turn north onto 13. It can get quite interesting to say the least.

    1. Most don't understand the passing lane is NOT a speeding lane because you are in a hurry. Let that sink in.

  17. Doing 64 in the slow lane, when troopers going to Dunkin Donuts...

.drive past me at speeds that make my truck shake

  18. I will drive as fast as I wish and will not harm anyone or damage any property in doing so. I believe in Common Law, not Statutory Law (dictates).

  19. June 13, 2018 at 1:19 PM:

I believe you are lying. If you call 911, they will ask you to identify yourself. And when they find out you are filing false reports, you will be the one that gets in big trouble. They will find out you're a repeat liar, because if, and only if, they actually pull over a car you reported as a drunk driver, and they turn out to be an entirely sober and rational driver, you are the one that ends up on the shit list. You know that. That's why I'm calling you a liar.

BTW, why don't you hold up that cell phone and pretend you're taking my picture when I go by? I'll smile and shoot you the bird for your trouble.

  20. @10:05, That's why we have laws. You drive by the law, not by courtesy. Some people relying on courtesy and some driving by the laws is what can cause accidents. 55 in BOTH lanes. Let me know when you see a sign that says the speed limit in the left lane is, 'whatever'. Numb nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 5:01 shame you can't read because there are plenty of signs that state "stay right except to pass" or "slower traffic keep right". Since more than half the cars on the road are doing over the speed limit I would say the people have spoken and decided the speed limit is set to low. So why don't you grow up and join the rest of humanity and be courteous instead on a numb nuts jerk. Also with all the stop lights on the highway imagine what life would be like if everyone did drive 55.

  22. Delmar people get in the left lane in Salisbury to turn left in Delmar on the way home and the reverse is true in the morning. Never seen anything like it. When you drive that way every day you recognize the cars and you know they are going to stay in the left lane come heck or high water all the way to Delmar because they are going to turn left in Delmar.

    1. I can vouch for this and I've never seen anything like it either. Must be shorebillies who've never driven anyplace else.

  23. 12:48 They do the same thing from the light at Shorebirds stadium all the way to Willards and Whaleyville. Truly amazing how many poor drivers are on the road. If you are that lousy a driver you should stay on back roads.

  24. 3:19 You missed the part where 10:05 said "possible" drunk driver. LE encourages people to report aggressive drivers and possible drunk drivers. See something - say something. There are signs all along state highways saying to do so. You don't get in trouble if the person is not drunk. If you call in a suspicious package and it is nothing, you don't get in trouble. Sounds like you have been pulled over after someone reported you!

    1. Drunk drivers usually aren't speeding though. They're weaving all over the road at 10 miles under the limit.

  26. @9:09 am. Obey the driving laws, numb nuts and you will not need such signs. There is no such thing as a fast lane or passing lane. The speed limit is the same in BOTH lanes. If you come up on someone doing the speed limit in the left lane, it's YOUR fault because YOU are the one breaking the law. I have as much right in that lane as you do. I'm not moving for you or anyone else. And there is not a damn thing you can do about it. The law says if you cannot for some reason drive the SPEED LIMIT, then you must be in the right lane.

  27. Awwwwww. You poor people who break the laws and exceed the speed limit and are inconvenienced by those who drive according to the laws. Poor, poor, pitiful things. Were your egos injured? Waaaaa, waaaaa. You people are good for a laugh though.
