Subject: Breaking News: Kate Spade, the designer who built a handbag empire, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment after an apparent suicide. She was 55.

The police said that Ms. Spade was discovered unresponsive at a Park Avenue apartment, where she had hanged herself.

    Money very well may have been an issue and THE issue. She and her partner husband made some poor business decisions.

    Evidently marital and financial problems. She hasn't been involved with the brand named after her for 10 yrs but recently she and her husband were trying to get back into the business with a new brand Frances Valentine. She even legally changed her name to Kate Valentine.
