Hill Article Quotes Trump Saying ‘You Can’t Come in,’ Ignores ‘You Have to Go in Through a LEGAL Process’

An article posted by The Hill Tuesday reports President Donald Trump said that U.S. immigration policy should be “You can’t come in” – but, fails to mention his very next sentence, in which he says he wants people to come in – just legally.

The Hill’s article, “Trump: Immigration policy should just be 'you can't come in',” quotes Trump saying, “You can’t come in” – but, doesn't cite his very next sentence (see video) in which he clarifies that “You have to go in through a legal process.”

In the video, Trump says:

"We inherited a lot of different things. But, of all of them, immigration makes the least sense. It is a hodgepodge of laws that has been put together over the years. And, we have to change it.

"And, it’s so simple: it’s called, 'I’m sorry, you can’t come in – you have to go in through a legal process.'”

The Hill’s article is based on a Twitter post by Bloomberg News White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs.
