ABC is planning a "Roseanne" spinoff without Roseanne Barr, less than a month after canceling the revival because of the star's racist tweet

Roseanne Barr may be finished, but the Conners are not.

Less than a month after ABC canceled the hit revival of “Roseanne,” the network has decided to go forward with a spinoff that will not include her. ABC said that Ms. Barr would not receive any payment from the network for the spinoff series, which is tentatively titled “The Conners.”

  1. Roseanne used her first amendment right by calling the turds advisor a monkey!
ABC used their first amendment right by cancelling her show!
Viewers used their first amendment right by boycotting ABC!
ABC is trying to walk back their cancellation with a half-assed reboot...

I'm not a big Roseanne fan after her rendition of the National Anthem a few years back so I'm probably not gonna watch her (or the half-assed reboot) regardless.

Let's see how that works out for ABC!

  2. It will be what ABC wanted to began with, a liberal Trump bashing spinoff like all the other liberal TV shows they host. I have no interest, and sincerely hope this new show fails as it should.

  3. "Roseanne" without Roseanne isn't "Roseanne."

It's a flop in the making, but maybe ABC will burn through some more of their money and have less for pushing pre-election propaganda.

  4. I used to drop off the Obama's at the supper bowl every time I went to the toilet. It is just a statement of poking fun, should I be fired for tweeting this?

  6. ABC has to pay the cast for two more seasons, regardless of whether they produce a show, or not. ABC is just trying to find something for them to do.

  7. I wonder if this means they fired Roseanne. Up to now, is was that they simply canceled her show. BIG lawsuit to follow. Roseanne has enough money and legal clout to take ABC to the cleaners.

  10. Reminds me of what CBS did to Two and 1/2 Men. Maybe letting the cast finish their contract will end up the same....show's over.
