Many roads are still one lane. The snow has stopped and so has the wind. These roads should be at least 2 lanes by now. Im disappointed that they have seemed to have stopped plowing the roads. Tell the driver of that truck to clean off their license plate.
As a side note, about how things work around here, for instance, I live on the line of Delmar and SBY, My address is Delmar, but I am still in Wicomico County... You had the county, come down our road and paved it from that tar and chip to actual pavement... They stopped half way, and for the rest of the way they used tar and chip, which still cost time and money, becasue of the Salisbury/Delmar line, even though we are still county and the county was the one paving... They had some fiasco after another about who and what will pay for who and what... There shouldn't be an issue and that doesn't make any sense becasue if the county is paying to pave the roads, and you live in said county and pay said county taxes, why should it come down to the individual cities to help pay for the pavement???
If you were lucky enough to see a plow, they just went by once and forgot about it. There was no maintenance or improvement after that. The huge piles they left in awkward places are now icebergs. For example, the traffic circle in Fruitland is ridiculous! Can't wait to hear about the huge bill racked up for overtime on this storm!!! For what? Driving around aimlessly, plowing here or there? Where's the management?? Strategic planning? What a joke.
go down Churchill ave in Salisbury and try not to have an accident. I'm sorry but I think this has been a pathetic showing from our local govts. the storm has been over for 5 days. airport road today is absolutely horrible
I was out today with my children and it looked like a mess, one road cleared and dry, the next looks as if it has not been touched. I am sorry but I am not applauding anyone in regards to this "snow removal".
The roads are still icy, and it's easy to slide into a snowbank and get stuck. Happened to me today (luckily I had a shovel and someone else to help me push)
Roundabout at Wor-Wic was disaster Sunday afternoon. What plowing that did get done crossed over the concrete lane separation between inner and outer circle.
Roundabout at Woodbrooke was no prize this afternoon (Monday).
Very clear that undersized roundabouts don't provide maneuver room for plow drivers, nor a place to mound the snow.
Prediction: Jake's Mill Street, Riverside, Camden, Carroll St. vision will be a rink in storms of the future. Unborn generations will be cursing him.
Went down that road before noon and we were just trying to get to the doctor. The road was great so we decided to come back the same way. What you are seeing is drifting. It had been great and the guys did a great job. Cannot control mother nature.
its official, the king of smallsbury has stated that every citizen must now have a plow on their vehicle effective immediately. also, since the city will no longer need there one and only plow, it will be donated to gillis gilkerson.
Delaware is responsible for line rd in from rt 13 to brittingham rd. Md is responsible from Brittingham rd to the flashing light on gumboro rd. The difference in the two sections was like night and day. Delaware cleared quickly, Md lousy as usual.
Looks like that on White Lowe Road as well.
ReplyDeleteAt least they've SEEN a plow!! Not even a sighting of one on the secondary roads off Zion Rd.

ReplyDeleteIs there a route each truck is responsible for?
