Salisbury Maryland City Council Agrees To Double Mayors Salary & More...

Last night the City Council agreed to double the Mayors salary from $25,000.00 to $50,000.00. Of course, (because he's running for a new elected position) former Mayor Jim Ireton was the sole nay vote to appear somewhat conservative. No one is stupid enough to realize his nay vote meant absolutely nothing. His only advantage is to take the position that he was against it.

The Council also agreed to raise their own salaries from $10,000.00 to $12,000.00 a year. Like $2,000.00 a year makes all that alleged time they spend studying materials will now make it all worth while.

So, who's going to finally step up to the plate and run for Mayor and Council?

I should add, I told you they were going to propose $75,000.00 a year only to settle at $50,000.00 a year. It's the Liberal way of doing business and always has been.

The next step will be making it a full time job @ $100K

    1. You nailed it!! Jake day will not allow anyone in city government to make more than himself. His ego and narcissistic mental illness won't allow it. Remember he's the captain of this ship now bitches. The only thing is the name of the vessel is Titanic II

  6. What "new elected position" is the Liarton running for?

  7. Jake the two headed snake was quoted as saying that if he passes this and accepts this raise it will be problematic for him come re-election time. If he does nothing it "automatically" passes.

His only option it to veto and he won't. He will do nothing and then act like he tried to stop it but rules are rules...

  8. Understand the armored car robbery was a cluster by SPD. Didn't involve MSP or Sheriff for many minutes. Inquiring minds want to know why they didn't call for support immediately? They are completely and totally incompetent. Local LEOs know just how screwed up SPD is.

Now, the Mayor is going to be paid MORE to lead the cluster the City is? What a joke! It is appalling just how stupid the City residents are!

  9. This is just the beginning of the fleecing of the tax payer that all Democrats like Jake believe they are entitled to do. Keep an eye out for his dirty little kick back secret.

  14. I think he deserves double that.

  15. The last time Liarton ran for a position outside of Da'Bury, he lost in the primary to someone who did not campaign whatsoever. Other than his group of supporters in the City, everyone knows he is a liberal clown who helped make the City the laughingstock of the entire Eastern Shore. Do you remember him out holding signs for Obama when he should have been at his teaching job but Dr. Freddy didn't make him.

  16. Joe,

This is exactly what the politicians did for the bay bridge toll under O'faggy... In the end they wanted 10 bucks a pass for the bay bridge, only to settle for 8... These citizens thought they did some good deeds and something great by so called standing up and fighting to stop the 10 bucks for the toll... Well guess what fools, you still got doped... They still go their raise in toll... It went from 2.50 to 6.00 but would have been 8 in the end if Hogan didn't roll it back to 4 but still, 2.50 to 4 is still a raise so you all still loose in the end... And what is more sad is how non of you all looked into this matter to begin with, had you, you would know there was either a law or a contract, contract is binding like law for you stupid people, that stated the bridge toll was supposed to dissolve and be no more once the tolls collected, paid for the bridge to be built... NOPE still collecting and having to pay the tolls...

I mean seriously, can you people be any more obtuse????

  17. Bills need to be paid, but raises are approved.
WOW, you'd think we're talking about CONgress or something!

Must be that double full moon this month that has everyone CRAZY!!!
But we know better than that!!!!

  18. I really feel sorry for the people that live inside the city limits - although collectively they voted for this moron!

  19. Theft is just that!! Whether it be four armed men robbing an armored car in the morning or a mayor "convincing" a city council his salary needs to be doubled. Great work Jake Day you have done the impossible. You've made Jim Ireton's tenure as Salisbury mayor seem kind of tolerable.

  20. Residents of Salisbury probably won't get it. People outside the city who apply common sense will.
This game is as old as time. With everything in place the Boy Mayor votes no to make himself look good for the next election.
Salisbury needs someone to step up and "make Salisbury great" again"
Boys with little or no experience simply cannot do a man's job. A experienced successful business man who has been through the wars is what's needed. Definitely not some weekend warrior.

  21. 8:32...thanks for the laugh, I needed that. I know you didn't say that to amuse us, but keep it up. You could be the hit at any gathering. That there is funny...don't care who you are. That ole boy would't make a pimple on the backside of Dr. Harris. Thanks again.

  22. 8:33 AM, New haircut? How about doing something about those teeth with that new raise.

  23. Day isn't worth $25-50 DOLLARS - forget THOUSANDS! Personally, I think EVERYTHING should fall to/under the COUNTY EXECUTIVE and do away with the "city" as well as the "Mayor and City Council". They're all in it for themselves anyway...such a shame! I've lived here for 60+ years and I pray I can find some way to get away from Salisbury very soon. It's gone to HELL.

  24. Here's the FUNNIEST part about this DOUBLE pay. It's still a PART TIME job! What a bunch of suckers Salisbury residents are. They, (Council and Mayor) are laughing all the way to the Bank. Then someone goes and robs it and gets away with it. Keystone Cops.

  26. Feel bad for my elderly parents that are pretty stuck here now due to age and poor health. Jake day you need a good old fashioned ass whipping for the things you've done that jeopardize the well being if Salisbury's citizens. I'm only here to assure my parents safety going to doctors and stores. Once the natural process runs its course I'm Texas bound thinking of maybe Austin. You can have this cesspool of a city. Totally saturated with heroin, ex-cons(majority from Baltimore area) that stay here once they've been released. If you doubt this is going on go by halo or Christian shelter or better yet go by any of the outpatient treatment facilities.

  27. Has anybody checked to see the whereabouts of Jake Day during the robbery yesterday at SECU ? Because he just got away with another one on Salisbury tax payers.

  28. According to news, Jake bis going to veto it. Raise does not go into effect until after next election.

  29. Jake is not worth the $25,000 let him cancel this stupid festival we can't afford then we'll think about it. Can we all sign a petition to get him removed from office, make sure it is at the Civic Center as we will need a lot of room for everyone that wants him out and Duncan as Chief of the SPD.

  30. A lot of complainers voicing their frustrations, but the question was asked, who's going to step up and run for one of these elected positions? Looks like no one so far, and just think 50K and it's part time, or you can just sit behind that screen and bitch.....

  31. 6:04 PM, since you seem to know all the answers why don't you run?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Same old dumb ass posts about "why don't you run". What person in their right mind would want to try and undo all the damage Jake day has inflicted in the city of Salisbury? Second in order for Salisbury to truly get back on track Cannon would have to be relieved if his county council position as well. One hand has been washing the other long enough. Doubting this? Go around and look at some of Cannon's so called rental properties and ask why is he allowed to continue to rent them

  33. It's interesting how the bury is going to the crapper in every way and the people in charge get a massive raise. I wonder if I start failing all my students and become a horrible teacher maybe I can get my salary doubled. Got to be nice.

  34. What you people don’t get in this article is you Salisbury people will have your taxes raised to pay for their bionic munchkin mayor to get a fat increase to do absolutely nothing. Check out Main Street by Mojo’s lately? Like I said nothing!
